Chapter 22: Day 7.

“ Hello little girl..... Sweetie, you never told me we have guests?....”, he greeted me first before questioning Auntie Margaret who was now having some kind of a shaky lips, trying to put words together, probably in a way that won't make our presence here seem bad.
“ You just came home Honey, I was about calling them to come see you by themselves and say there greetings.....”, she explained to him. I can see the look on the man's face, it doesn't show anger or frustration, he's just confused like this never came to his mind, taken aback by our presence in his home.
“ She's Williams wife, my brother....”, Auntie Margaret finished, I just hope she never said that right now, probably thinking that specifying us in details will get her husband's mind in peace.
“ Oh, I know already sweetie.... She's Caro and..... Doesn't matter, she's with Caro too, I guess ”, he said before fully coming into the room. Caro was now awake, still looking exhausted, she said her greetings to the man of the house who was now kneeling with one knee in front of Caro, pretending to care, I can tell.
“ Sorry about Williams, I just hope he returns safely....”, he said to Caro, I had that fire inside of me, trying to shout out liar, but I held myself back, trying not to mess anything up or we would all be in danger. Tears ran down my eyes, trying to numb the pain inside, holding my hand into a tight fist, knowing exactly what's going on in here, nobody else could possibly dictate.
“ How did you know about Williams disappearance?, Did Margaret told you?...”, Caro asked, trying to hold back her tears, he didn't answer, instead he was looking at his wife on the face, knowing that he's caught on a trap here.
“ He probably got to know through the newspaper, it was everywhere across town...”, I defended him, I have my reasons, we are in no position to put him in such angle right now, or we would suffer the consequences, especially for the fact that Caro is pregnant. He agreed with me, nodding his head to his wife and Caro, “ It was all over the newspaper this morning, but you guys shouldn't bother, I will find a way in my power to take care of the situation, I promise ”.
He left the room, saying that he just came back and need some rest right now, Auntie Margaret understood that he was right and they shared a smile before he went out of the room, he walked past me without even taking a glance, thank God, I don't want this man to mark me, or I would be as good as gone when he finds out that I know a lot.
Sitting under his roof, I have to be careful of whatever comes out of my mouth, I couldn't tell auntie Margaret or Caro about what I know, I have to lure Caro out of this house first before making a risky decision.
I have decided to stay calm and patient as I try thinking up something, at this point, something inside of me tells me we're being held leverage, though everything is as good as normal, something else is going on beyond our knowledge, I gently went to the window, opening the curtain slightly, I looked around the area, no one was there, no one suspicious actually, I then was about to leave the window when I saw a black pick up van pull up, I was there watching when I saw men in black attires began to step down from the van, that's when I heard auntie Margaret being called out loud, it was her husband calling her, I rushed out of our room and saw her going to answer to her husband, Oh God, they're here, they're here for us, I guess auntie Margaret's husband saw something or felt something.
“ We've to leave, right now....”, I dragged Caro up, her pregnancy is going to be a huge set back for us, oh my God.... I tried dragging her along, telling her there's not even a chance for her to put on her footwear, we've to leave right now before whoever those people outside were comes in here for us.
There was a knock on the door, that's when all hope were lost, they're here, they're here already, they're here for us. “ I..... I can't, I..... I can't move right now Ember!...”, she was forcing herself back while I tried drawing her out with me.
“ Ember, Ember it's the baby, the baby is coming out Ember, call Margaret please!”, she requested, try to walk back to the bed herself, I want to help her return to the bed, but I have to stop this people before they get in here, to do that, I have to think ten steps ahead.
I ran to the couples room, banging on their door, trying to reach out for them. Auntie Margaret's husband would possibly not allow her to open the door, he might try convincing her that thieves have broken in into their home and this door will protect them, oh my God..... I continued the banging, knowing that this people are already getting to us.
“ Auntie Margaret please open up, Caro needs your help, she's in labor!.....”, I screamed, I shouted repeatedly, trying to let them know that I am not here to ask for protection, instead for help. The door opened and Auntie Margaret stepped out.
“ I told you Honey, it's not any arm robber, it's definitely Caro and Ember, they need us....”, Auntie Margaret said to her husband as she rushed upstairs, he was glaring at me, possibly wondering whether I know what was going on.
“ Please Sir, Caro is asking for you guys, come and help us!!!”, I pretended to plead with him, holding his arm. “ Don't worry dear, you can go up into the room, I have to go call the doctor....”, he said, immediately he was finished with his speech, a knock sounded on the door, it's them, it's surely them.
