CHAPTER 25: Ace's Presidential Problem

A month later, Nathan finally graduated from Harrington's Royal Academy and embarked on a new chapter of his life, where he would have the opportunity to establish and govern his own kingdom. As he bid farewell to his fellow students and teachers, emotions ran high, with many feeling a mix of pride, nostalgia, and well-wishes for Nathan's future endeavors. The graduation ceremony marked a significant milestone in Nathan's journey, evoking both joy and a sense of bittersweet farewell among those who had shared in his educational experience.
Before Nathan's departure from the Academy, he sought out Marianne and embraced her tightly, expressing his heartfelt words, "If you ever need me, don't hesitate to reach out or come to me." His genuine concern for Marianne's well-being was evident in his words, assuring her of his continued support and friendship.

As the celebration drew to a close, Nathan made a significant gesture by relinquishing his presidency to Ace. With a mix of playful banter and genuine goodwill, Nathan jokingly remarked, "Good luck, dumbass," to Ace. This lighthearted comment showcased their unique dynamic and the camaraderie they had developed over time. Despite their differences, Nathan's gesture demonstrated his trust in Ace's abilities and his desire to see him succeed in his new role.
As Nathan made his exit, the crowd erupted in cheers, congratulating Ace on his new role as president. However, Ace chose to ignore the fanfare and quietly left the room. His departure sparked a flurry of gossip among the students, with some expressing doubts about his suitability for the presidential position. "He's so cold," one student remarked, voicing their concern about Ace's aloof demeanor. Another student chimed in, adding, "How can he manage us if he doesn't even engage with us?" The students' comments reflected their apprehension about Ace's leadership style and his ability to connect with them on a personal level.
Upon hearing the students' comments, Marianne felt compelled to intervene. "Stop it," she interjected, her voice firm and resolute. "Ace is the best. You may not see it yet, but he is capable of doing everything Nathan did." Her words hung in the air as all eyes turned to her. However, instead of taking her words seriously, the students laughed. One of them even dared to make a crude joke, asking, "Why are you defending him? Are you implying that Ace is the best in bed?" The inappropriate comment infuriated Marianne, who promptly slapped the student. "How dare you," she retorted, her voice filled with anger and indignation.
The students, taken aback by Marianne's reaction, were about to retaliate when Ace's voice cut through the tension. "Enough," he commanded, his tone stern and authoritative. All eyes turned to him as he moved towards Marianne. "That's enough," he reiterated, his voice cold yet protective. The students, attempting to diffuse the situation, laughed it off. "Hey, don't take it so seriously, we were just joking," one of them said, trying to downplay their earlier comments. Despite their attempt to brush off the incident, Ace's intervention served as a clear message of his support for Marianne and his unwillingness to tolerate disrespectful behavior.
"If you dislike me, you're free to leave this school. We don't need students who behave foolishly," Ace retorted coldly. His words hung heavy in the room, silencing the students who then began to exit one by one. However, one student refused to back down and challenged Ace, "Well, that's not the proper behavior of a president!" he retorted. Unfazed, Ace responded with a pointed question, "And do you think your behavior right now is appropriate?" His voice was cold, his words sharp. "Is it proper for a student to disrespect others and spread gossip?" Ace's counter-question served as a stark reminder of the students' own misconduct, highlighting the hypocrisy in their criticism of his leadership style.
Ace's words were so sharp and impactful that they sent chills down the students' spines. Realizing they were no match for Ace, the students quickly exited the room. Once the room fell silent, Ace turned his attention to Marianne. "Are you alright?" he asked, his voice softening. Marianne responded with a reassuring smile, "Yes." Seeing her smile, Ace couldn't help but return the gesture. He reached out and gently touched Marianne's cheek, a tender moment shared between them amidst the earlier chaos.
The next morning, as Marianne walked through the hallway, Yoma spotted her and called out her name, "Hey, Marianne." Yoma approached her, and Marianne greeted her respectfully, saying, "Hi, Princess Yoma. It's nice to see you here." However, Yoma ignored her greeting and responded with a scoff, displaying a dismissive attitude. "What potion did you make Ace drink?" Yoma asked, a mischievous tone in her voice. "Probably a love potion, right?" she added, teasingly. Confused by Yoma's question, Marianne responded, "What? What do you mean?" She asked, seeking clarification. Yoma let out a sigh before speaking, "Stop pretending to be an innocent princess. I know you're a witch." Marianne chuckled softly and replied, "What makes you think that I'm a witch?" She was genuinely curious about Yoma's assumption.
Yoma began to circle around Marianne, scrutinizing her appearance and demeanor. "You're not pretty, and your gestures and postures are unattractive," Yoma remarked. She then confronted Marianne directly, demanding to know, "So, tell me, what potion did you make Ace drink?" Marianne felt deeply offended by Yoma's words and turned to face her, her voice filled with indignation. "What did you just say?" she retorted, her tone reflecting her hurt and anger.
"Why are you behaving this way?" Marianne asked, her voice tinged with frustration. "Is it because you're jealous, or is it because Ace doesn't reciprocate your feelings?" Marianne's words were fueled by anger, as she confronted Yoma. Yoma gasped and blinked in surprise at Marianne's response, attempting to interject, but Marianne continued, not allowing her to speak. "I've tried to be kind to you, Yoma, but you've been bullying me for quite some time now. Don't you think it's gone too far?" Marianne expressed her exasperation, standing up for herself against Yoma's mistreatment.
