CHAPTER 26: Ace's Refusal to Leadership and Marriage

In a fit of anger, Yoma lashed out and slapped Marianne, her actions fueled by frustration. "Oh, so now you're trying to fight back, huh?" Yoma taunted. However, before the situation could escalate further, Derek intervened, his voice filled with shock and disbelief. "What have you done, Yoma?!! Are you even a princess?!!" Derek exclaimed, rushing to Marianne's side to offer his support and protect her from any further harm. As Derek approached Marianne, a surge of anger and adrenaline coursed through her veins. Without hesitation, Marianne retaliated and launched an attack on Yoma. The two engaged in a fierce physical altercation, pulling each other's hair and exchanging slaps and punches. Their struggle intensified, causing them to fall to the floor, locked in a heated battle. Despite Derek's attempts to intervene and separate them, their strength and determination made it difficult for him to break them apart. The fight continued, with neither Marianne nor Yoma willing to back down.
The commotion caused by Marianne and Yoma's fight quickly attracted the attention of other students. They gathered around, forming a crowd to witness the intense altercation. Meanwhile, Ace happened to be passing by in the hallway, he noticed the crowd. Curiosity piqued, he decided to approach and investigate the source of the commotion. To his astonishment, he discovered that Marianne and Yoma were engaged in a heated fight. The sight left Ace both surprised and concerned for their well-being. Ace pushed through the crowd of students, making his way towards Marianne and Yoma. With a commanding voice, he shouted, "Enough!" His authoritative tone brought the fight to a halt as both Yoma and Marianne turned their attention to him. A sense of unease washed over Marianne and Yoma as they observed Ace's intense and angry expression. Derek, sensing the tension, approached Ace to offer an explanation, but Ace disregarded him, his gaze fixed on Yoma with a glare filled with anger and disapproval.
The following morning, an announcement was made that Yoma had been expelled from the school. Many students viewed this decision as unfair, considering that Yoma's actions were not deemed excessively severe. Some students believed that a suspension would have been a more appropriate consequence for her behavior. The differing opinions among the students reflected the varying perspectives on the disciplinary action taken against Yoma. As the months went by, a growing number of students made the decision to transfer to another school due to their perception of unfair rules and the strict, distant nature of the school's president. Recognizing the significance of this issue, Alexander, who was aware of the situation, called his son, Ace, to discuss the matter and seek an explanation. It was clear that Alexander wanted to understand the reasons behind the students' dissatisfaction and the impact it was having on the school's reputation.
Ace firmly stated his disinterest in being the president, emphasizing that it was not a role he desired. He coldly remarked that the students' decision to leave was their own choice and not influenced by him. Alexander let out a gentle sigh, understanding the gravity of the situation, and asked about Ace's plan about the matter. In response, Ace expressed his intention to step down from the presidential position and proposed holding an election to choose a new president.
In the following two days, Ace relinquished his position as the president, allowing the election process to commence. Ace took the initiative to encourage Derek to participate in the election, and to everyone's surprise, Derek emerged as the chosen candidate and was elected as the new president of the school. This turn of events marked a significant shift in leadership and brought about a fresh start for the school under Derek's presidency.
Under Derek's leadership, he proved to be a capable and well-respected leader for everyone in the school. His qualities and actions garnered admiration and support from the students, who cheered and adored him. The positive impact of Derek's leadership was evident as the school community experienced a newfound sense of happiness and contentment, grateful to have a leader like Derek who genuinely cared for their well-being.
Alexander, as Ace's father, observed that his son was doing well under the new leadership arrangement. He recognized that Ace may not have been suited to handle the responsibilities of the academy, which is why he ultimately approved the election and allowed Derek to take over as president. Despite his personal desire for Ace to hold the position, Alexander understood the importance of making the best decision for the school and acknowledged that Ace's strengths may lie elsewhere. As Alexander stood by the window in his office, he couldn't help but express his disappointment, muttering to himself, "What a failure." Lost in his thoughts, he turned around and was surprised to see his son, Ace, standing there. "Oh, there you are," Alexander said, glancing at Ace. Ace, in a soft voice, whispered, "Father," as he looked at his father with a mixture of emotions.
Sitting on his chair, Alexander asked Ace about his plans now that he had turned 18. Ace responded firmly, reiterating his previous statements, "Dad, I've said it multiple times, I don't want to get married." Alexander, with a hint of resignation, replied, "Yeah? Well, unfortunately, that is your fate, son." His words conveyed a sense of acceptance that marriage was seen as an inevitable path for Ace, despite his own desires. Alexander observed the growing closeness between Ace and Marianne and commented, "From what I can see, you and Marianne have become close. Does this mean the marriage is still on?" Ace firmly responded, "No, I will not allow it to happen." Curious, Alexander inquired, "And what is your reason for that, Ace?" He sought to understand Ace's motivations and concerns regarding the proposed marriage.
"I refuse to marry someone who doesn't love me, father," Ace asserted. Alexander chuckled softly upon hearing Ace's statement. "Love? Are you joking with me?" he responded. Ace remained resolute and replied, "I'm serious, father." Ace's sincerity in prioritizing love over other considerations was evident in his response.
