CHAPTER 9

Third Person's POV:
Dark, dirty, and full of scattered bodies. The others were almost unrecognizable due to the burnt body and dismembered parts due to the force of the explosion.
The expected change in their world regarding Melos Syndrome ended due to a tragedy. Tragedy no one wanted to happen but nothing was done even by the people who tried to stop the explosion. It was so strong that it swallowed a large part of Project Melos.
"Help all the people! Take the auditorium first, there are celebrities, scientists, government branches, the director of Project Melos, and the President of Equinoxia! There are also the children who sang and performed for the intermission number! Hurry up to help!" shouted a rescuer.
The police, Billyfighters, rescuers, and health crew workers immediately dispersed to help. Billyfighters first went to the source of the Billy in the electrical department of the Project Melos research facility. Unbeknownst to them, due to the length of the wiring connected to the AMM-1GRM and the power of its required energy, it exploded and the machine could not withstand the radiation it contained.
When the rescuers went to the auditorium, they immediately helped the victims. There were many casualties estimated to be more than thirteen scientists near the scene of the explosion.
Bonnie, Annie’s best friend, was one of those seriously affected by the explosion. Its body was on Billy and it was necessary to immediately remove the child from its womb in order to save it. The rest of the guests are also dead due to the debris caused by the powerful explosion.
Annie was lying down being helped by a rescuer. Half of his body was burned and needed immediate treatment. Her condition is also critical so the child needs to be taken out of her womb.
Those affected by the explosion were taken to the nearest hospital. Everyone was immediately rescued but due to the large number of people, the hospital employees were also in trouble. But since Bonnie and Annie were pregnant, they were attended to immediately. Priority is also given to PWD, the elderly, children, and pregnant women.
Annie’s treatment took several hours, even the immediate c-section birth that was performed on him to save the child. Annie survived and was lucky because only half of his body was burned and he was still able to save his son. On the other hand, Bonnie could no longer cope with the intensity of the burns on her body and lost her life. But before it disappeared, he was able to name his daughter, Carolina Miller. Doctors were able to save Bonnie's daughter.
To everyone's surprise and in an unbelievable event, the bodies of Bonnie and Annie’s daughters are intact. All the doctors and nurses inside the operating room were very surprised when they saw their children. They are healthy and complete in every part. There are no disabilities, unlike babies with Melos Syndrome.
Annie named her daughter Jesse. He was happy with the news and couldn't believe it either. Six women who gave birth together in the perimeter of the explosion in the electrical department of the Project Melos research facility were affected and had to have a cesarean section immediately to save their children because they were severely injured. Of the six children that were born, all of their bodies were complete. Healthy and agile unlike babies with Melos Syndrome.
But with these events that no one can explain yet, the world was greatly shaken. Was the explosion good for Project Melo's learning or bad? And for the mothers who gave birth to the so-called 'perfect children', what will be the effect on them and their born babies? Will the future of their children be good?
Annie’s POV:
"In the nearly three days that have passed since the explosion at the Project Melos research facility located in Oscorb, Equinoxia, the decommissioning and the rapid repair of the damaged buildings have been going smoothly. It is now being studied what exactly happened behind the mystery behind 'the perfect children', or the six children who were born at the same time by scientists who were affected by such an explosion. Everyone is shocked by the perfect children because the unique six do not have Melos Syndrome. This is one of the biggest movements to happen since 20 years ago when babies and their mothers could be studied. Although not all six mothers were lucky, the six babies are healthy and safe," he said. to a television reporter.
"'The perfect children' are identified as Jesse, Carolina, Conrad, Henry, Anthony, and Equinox. They are cute and beautiful creatures. Are these six children the key to uncovering the mystery behind Melos Syndrome? " the reporter added. That's when I got more nervous. The world knows my son.
I thought I would be so happy but now fear is running through my system. I am happy because my son is safe from Melos Syndrome and did not get any disease. I also learned that Jesse’s immune system is stronger than ours. Now we are really closed due to the recovery of the children and their mothers, we will be released from the hospital and immediately to be studied. That's what scares me, the scientific people behind what happened to us are crazy now. I also know the possibilities that will happen when Jesse and I are a specimen in a study. We were assured of safety but this is what happened. The explosion was also not my team's fault. That's beyond our job.
Not just blood, x-rays, body shape, skin type, eye clarity, bone structure, and others will be studied on Jesse. They will open my son like a chicken from the henhouse. They will dissect life, my son will experience surgery, and tinker with the inside so they know everything. I know they will promise us that everything will be safe and legal but it's different when the compliance is high. That would be violated and that's what I'm afraid of.
I am not in favor of that method of their learning. But now that I can encounter it, I will never allow it especially since my son's life depends on it. I will not allow them to treat my child like an experimental animal.
I tried to get up from my bed but I wasn't that strong yet. I can walk but I'm afraid my stitches will open. Soon Jesse will be brought here to my room. It recovers quickly and does not need to be put in an incubator. He could breathe on his own. He no longer needs oxygen support.
I wondered how I could escape from this, I was losing hope. Apart from the fact that I am still weak and don't have the strength to go out, I won't be able to escape because of the tight security unless someone helps me.
I remembered Bonnie, my best friend is gone. I only saw the photo that the kind nurse showed me yesterday. Bonnie's whole body was on Billy and it was a miracle that Carolina, her daughter, survived. Losing Bonnie hurts so much. I feel like crying again.
I wiped my tears. I have to be strong, I know Bonnie is expecting me to save her son and we can escape with our lives. All I need is to think of a good plan.
I learned that the electrical department at the Project Melos research facility exploded even though we inspected it because of the excessive energy required by the AMM-1GRM. The AMM-1GRM absorbed the energy the entire research facility had and when it couldn't handle the output anymore it exploded. It doesn't seem to have passed the second test on the machine. So is the power of the radiation that comes out. I already have a theory about how it all happened but I still need to confirm it. But before all that, I will prioritize escape.
I forced myself to stand up and peer out the window. I succeeded in my plan. Fortunately, I narrowed the window. There are bubble police cars buzzing around. I saw reporters gathering in the distance. Those are another thing, they must have circled the building. It's really hard for us kids to go out.
Someone knocked on my door so I almost screamed. I slowly walked back to bed. The nurse supported me when she got inside.
When I saw Jesse cried. I'm so happy to see my son healthy and without problems. My daughter is also very beautiful, he has a sharp nose. Jesse is half-Filipino, half-Italian so she will definitely grow up beautiful. Add to that his neglectful father is very handsome. It didn't even make me feel bad even once. I know he doesn't know anything but he doesn't need to show it.
I remembered that animal man, Roberto Gucedelli. Maybe he still cares a little about his body. If I ask him for help Jesse and I can get out of here? I hope Robert agrees. I also won't tell him until he says yes.
"Take care, wife. Oh, you and your mother are really lucky. You can carry Jesse but be gentle. I can leave you alone, press the red button when you need something," the doctor in charge told me. said Jesse.
"Yes Doctor Mia," I said smiling.
Before the doctor came out I remembered the things that were sent. There are things I saved from the wing that Bonnie and I live in.
"Doctor, can you please me? The nurse also told me on my first day here that our things had been issued, just wait a day later. Is it here at the hospital? Can we get it?" I will ask.
"Yes, by the way, I will ask the nurse outside. It was also mentioned to me that it is already here at the hospital," Dra said with a smile. Mia before finally getting out.
I breathed a sigh of relief. I will use my cellphone to call Robert. I can use that so they don't miss my number because when it's on the phone of this hospital there's a high possibility. They will also know what I have to say.
I looked at Jesse and felt her cheek. My daughter is really beautiful. I wish him to have a good life when he grows up. Whether I'm alive or gone during those times, I'll make sure I teach her everything she needs to do before I let Jesse explore the world.
When a nurse came and handed me my things, that's when my nervousness started. When the nurse came out, I immediately took out my cell phone and looked for Robert's number. I immediately called him. It took a few more rings and three calls before Robert answered so I was really annoyed. If I don't need him I won't call him at all.
"What do you need, Annie? Are you not supported by Project Melos? Do you need help?" this is a boring question.
"Why you, you really have no shame! Listen to me, even just now have a little concern for me and your son. I have to escape from this hospital because I know Jesse and I will experiment on me, especially the son Let's go. Please, Robert. I'm just going to ask you for help now," I calmly begged him.
Fortunately, I was able to calm down. Otherwise, I might have hit it and he would have killed me. My mouth really still feels like Armalite.
"What can I get for that?" Robert asked.
I almost cursed. Really, there really needs to be something in return!
"I'm really going to stare at you, Robert. You can really see it. Get ready," I said angrily.
"I am joking, I'm not that heartless. Tell me the details of how I can get you out of there, like the strict security. I will handle everything in return for all my shortcomings with Jesse. I also wanna see our child. I will also take care of your hiding. Text me the details," said Robert.
I almost cried thanking him. I thought I was going to push that fool. I immediately texted him the details and peeked outside.
Jesse and I will run away tonight, if possible I'll take Carolina with me. I have to take Carolina with me, I won't leave her.
But the question is, can we get out safely? It is guaranteed that if we escape, we will surpass the most wanted in the whole world.
