Ashton's POV(Their child)
"What time are you going home?"
I leaned forward as I kiss my mom's cheeks. She was here at the kitchen preparing our breakfast. I saw her laugh as a big yawn escaped my lips.
"I don't know Mom. Around six? I'll make sure I'd be here before little chip's party" I answered before reaching for an apple sitting at the top of the counter. Soft chuckles escaped her lips, my eyes squinted a little at her reaction.
It's Friday and I had to drop by the school to get a few things for that project I need to complete.
It's our little chipmunk's sixteenth birthday and that sister of mine will have the biggest tantrum of the year if I come home late.
The whole family will have dinner and I guess it's that time of the month again where the old ones will go hard on the party as what aunt Tokyo would say.
It's been what? Like twelve years since SHADOW and WHISTLE happened and our parents had the best days of their lives.
The level of success both their groups achieves was immeasurable. They were both at the top. They had their dreams and they were happy. I was sure it wasn't a smooth ride but as what mom always says, everything was worth it.
I can clearly remember how a lot of idols back then visits our house and plays with me. It wasn't that long when I learned how the whole world learned of my existence.
And I am just so happy I am the Devon’s oldest son.
"Of all the things you'd inherit from your father, it has to be going around topless Ashton," she was shaking her head and I had to suppress a grin.
From where I was standing, I can already see my Dad slowly making his way down through stairs. Like me, he isn't wearing any shirt.
"Sup Dad!" I greeted and he just made his way towards my direction, messing my hair a little before heading straight to mom. Like always, he would wrap his arms around my mom, who in return, would blush tomato red.
I shake my head while laughing before taking another bite. They've been married for God knows how long but they still act like they just got together. Aunt Tokyo will always tell me how my parent's love story was never rainbows and butterflies. She'd comically tell us their kids how many times my mom had fainted because of Dad's stupid antics.
Surprisingly, the fun stories are always out of uncle Demo or uncle Raze's love life.
I was just so glad they are all happy now.
"Ash, your Aunt Cali called last night. She told your Mom that Zammy wants you to stop fetching her and driving her to school. What did you do again, young man?" my father raised an eyebrow and I had to avoid his gaze for a moment.
My father was never strict and I can clearly remember being with uncle Storm most often because I happen to like the things that he likes. I learned that Uncle Storm was Mom's best friend when I turned eight.
"Uncle Storm told me to look after her Dad. That guy she's going to have a date with is a jerk," I snicker and he laughed at my words.
Zamara was Uncle Storm's only daughter and she just turned seventeen. I am like her personal bodyguard at school. If I can't be with her, I make sure either Y or Z is with her. The twins may be younger than I am but they definitely inherited aunt Max's scary aura. That's what uncle Sky always tell people.
"So what did you do?" my mom asked and I run my tongue on my lower lip, unable to respond.
Should I tell her? She'll definitely scold me.
Dad's loud laughter echoed the whole kitchen.
"You know son, you gotta have to talk to your uncle sooner or later. You may be his favorite but that's his daughter. You never saw how bad that uncle of yours can get but his daughter is a different case," he meaningfully teased. My cheeks blushed a little. I knew I wouldn't be able to hide anything from Dad.
"I'll go wake Atlantis up," I pouted before jumping off the counter.
Mom wasn't saying anything but I can hear her laughter.
"Mom stop laughing. It's not funny," I scowled as I made my way towards her to give her a kiss on the cheeks.
"Sorry baby, can't help it. My baby mochi has grown up and is having a crush on my best friend's daughter. Don't worry baby, I'll back you up," she teased and I grunted. Dad pulled her closer and I just smirked.
"I don't like her mom, okay. She's like my sister," I told them but they just laughed at my words. I marched my way out of the kitchen.
That's one good thing about my parents. They are very cool about things so it's not awkward to tell personal stuff with them. I just hate it when they tease me with Zammy though. I don't like her.
Once I reached my sister's room, I knocked on her door thrice and waited for a little before opening it when she doesn't respond.
It was a rule dad had imposed when we were young. Atlantis got locked in a bathroom before when she was three and it scared the heck out of my parents after she was there for three hours. My sister had developed a phobia so no one locks their door aside from my parents and we all know why.
"Rise and shine little chip," I turned the lights on her room open and saw her sprawled on her bed, hair disheveled, and her books around.
I shake my head and laughed a little. My little sister is quite a geek. Unlike Zammy who does nothing but go out with her friends and party, my sister chooses to stay in her room and read a lot of books. The right side of her room would already pass as a library.
Her and uncle Raze's eldest son share the same interest. Sometimes, the two would stay together reading books and not even talking.
"Atlantis, wake up" I walk closer to her bed and gently shake her to wake her up.
I heard her grunt and I laughed at how adorable my little sister looks like. Like me, she inherited Dad's eyes. Another thing she inherited from dad is her quirk and habit of flipping her hair backward exactly like how our Dad does and it's so funny whenever they do it at the same time.
"What? Go away Ashhh....lemme sleep," she started whining before covering her eyes.
"The birthday girl is getting grumpy," I teased before leaning a little giving her a kiss on the forehead. "Happy birthday my sweet little princess," I greeted and saw a sweet smile forming on her lips.
"I am expecting a gift loser, now go away and let me be," she laughed and pinched her cheek one last time before going out of her room.
I walked back to my room and heard my phone ringing. After reaching it, a small smile came across my lips when I saw who the caller was. The moment I answered her call, her sweet raspy voice boomed and fed my ears.
"Don't come here, jackass, I hate you. Why did you punch my date?" I tried to suppress a burst of laughter at the sound of her annoyed voice.
I lay on my bed and used my other arm as my pillow.
"Zammy, how can you date that loser when he can't even fight for you? How can he even face your Dad if he can't even past through me," I teased and I swear I can clearly picture her annoyed expression.
"Well, you're a moron! And stop sending the twins in my room for Pete's sake. They are so snob they are scaring my friends!"
"Well baby, only girls get intimidated with the twins. Your guy friends must not have any balls," the moment I heard her gasp, I knew she lost it. I bite my lower lip to stop myself from laughing. I really love it whenever she gets angry. Her cheeks would turn red and she would pout endlessly.
"Stop baby-calling me stupid! Don't come to my house. I swear, I'm going to tell Dad about this!" she exclaimed and I can't help it, I smiled.
Adorable.
"Zammy, you wanna grab some ice cream over that place you had been gushing about?" I asked her and that was more than enough to get her attention.
She stopped talking and I knew by then I already got her.
Being with her since she was a kid, I knew her like the back of my palm. I knew how to piss her off and I knew just what to calm her down.
"I get to have three flavors, and your treat?" she whispered and I knew she was pouting.
"Four baby, and a teddy bear if you'll be good," I grin and I knew it's game over. Zammy is a sucker for a teddy bear.
She was silent for a moment and just the sound of her breathing makes me feel weak.
Damn. Uncle Storm will kill me if he finds out. And if Dad can easily read me, I knew it wouldn't be long before Uncle Storm does too.
"If you're not here in thirty minutes I'm not going," she stated before dropping the call. I had to bite my lower lip to stop myself from exclaiming.
Damn it, Ashton, I hope I was at least a little more decent than when my father was getting crazy over my mom...Download Novelah App

This is amazing, I read a lot of novel but this really caught my attention. Have a lot of plot twist and I really love it. The author details all the scenarios in very clear way of telling or writing the story.
