Chapter 38: Delectable

“We will not be chaperoning the two of you. We will give you this time to explore this town, together.” Cassidy was leaning towards my ear as she whispered her words in discreet when the two man were busy carrying the the huge baskets to the gazebo. We were basically acting like watchers. We couldn’t even help them since the task is heavy.
But I like the idea… To spend time as a leisure, with him. No distractions and just the two of us.
But I act calm amidst the feeling that gushed through me. There’s always this feeling of not giving in. I pulled myself to get out of my head and I smiled at my friend but I didn’t spoke a word. Cassidy threw me a mischievous stare. She was basically scheming something with the kind of stare she has. My smile widened and stared at Gregory instead.
He obliged to help Chase. No fuss, just eagerness to just extend a hand was in him the moment he saw the man struggling. Gregory seemed adaptable despite his lavish beginnings, silver spooned all throughout his entire life. He is quite different.
I was staring… When I felt my friend’s movement beside me. I looked at her but then she smiled.
“Here, let me help you.” Cassidy’s fingers went to touch my chin and wiped something off around the left corner of my mouth. “Done and dusted.” She chirped. Her eyes danced with another glint of enjoyment.
I stared at her, squinting my eyes for a bit. I raised my brows at her. “What is that?”
Her smile widens. And now, she is beaming with a delighted look. “You drooling and ogling with the oozing desire with the kind of stare you are giving to your husband.”
I ticked my chin for a bit. Trying to throw a stare just to sent a signal that she’s wrong with the assumption. “I am not ogling, Cass. And what’s with the adjectives, huh?” I asked.
Cassidy nudged her arm towards me. She sifted, playfully bumping me, “Admit it! You’re into him.”
I smiled in return…
We explored the nearest downtown Cassidy was talking about. Chase on the other hand dragged the woman to the other side of the store. I was glad his truck didn’t need towing the tires. He was having a hard time the last time he was driving it and we where stuck in a middle of haystack. It was alarming since the sound of crickets and cicadas were there. It was dark with no single trace of human around. The last time I check is that I don’t want to be a victim just like in the horror films.
“Hmm, delectable fresh strawberries…” It sounded too erotic and I felt the need to cover my ears. It was from Cassidy. I checked the strawberry jams. I looked around to see him. He was checking the strawberry wine on the cellars.
Whenever I looked at him. He had this halo of solitude. It suits him. A lot…
I put the jam back and walk towards him. “Do you want it?”
He immediately retract her gaze away from the thing. “I wanted a taste.” He answered.
He was staring too intently. With depth as he stare. Its an intense one. Something I never saw before. As much as I wanted to removed my gaze away from his eyes, I couldn’t. I wanted to look. Gregory suddenly gaze at my mouth. He stared for a bit which made me mimicked his gaze. I did the same. He then smiled and looked at my eyes.
“Strawberries are indeed delectable. They taste good.” He said.
I grinned because of it. There’s something teasing in his tone. It’s a bit of a surprise that I saw another side of him tonight. And I am more than willing to dive in to see some more of the facets of his personality…
“You heard it too.” I muttered. Letting my answer to be short. We don’t want to be out here discussing the other couple on the side. And I don’t want to say the wrong thing. I don’t want to utter a wrong context about the matter.
He nodded his head at me. “Your friend was loud. I looked at you. You were literally trying to look like you’re convincing yourself that you didn’t even hear her say it.” He was teasing…
I smiled and I shook my head. “You’re right.” She was even having nonsense blabbers and uneccesary noises right after she said it.
I couldn’t help but to smile when I remember the one we talked about earlier. She was talking about ties and knots. She was even excited to try to experiment on the monkey bars. Which I thought was weird. She swatted me with my answer. She even told me that it is more of an adventurous moment that adds to the thrill.
“It was a bit vulgar but it’s already expected from Cassidy.” I concealed the other part of the girl talk were she talked about juices and stuffs. It was sensual and sexual at the same time. Something that I don’t necessary instill in my head but I’m open to when it comes to those things.
“And she is also pregnant so it’s the hormone.” I added. I saw Gregory smiled because of my answer.
I loved to be iiberal at certain times… Because I wasn’t that all prim and proper to only welcome pure forms of ideas…
Gregory neared. I watched his stance, letting my gaze followed through. He then lowered his head to level with mine. I didn’t budge. I stilled and waited for the next move. He then smiled at me.
“Want to check the baked goods from the bakery across the store?” He asked. “I think we need to give them some privacy.”
He then moved again. Satisfied expression was on his face but I think my face became numb. I was unable to display any expression except for my wide eyes. I don’t want to say anything incoherent and I don’t want to waste my words just to stammer. I looked away and coughed for a bit.
“I think leaving them some privacy will do.” I answered… This time I am avoiding his gaze.
