“You have what it takes to take him down.” The old man eyes filled with determination as he spoke. Liam went rigid. He just stayed with the silence he had. He whirled the glass with vodka. He has some thoughts coming in mind but he never tried to spit it out the very moment the conversation started. “So, what are your plans now?” Liam probed. “What are you planning to do with him?” He asked. The man’s fingers left the chair. He stood and went closer towards the window. His eyes were staring, almost as if he has a clear view of the plans he had in mind. He was holding the glass in his hand when he turned to smile. “I have a major plan in mind. But the thing is; can you have the courage to take part in it?” Liam’s mouth curved before he started grinning at him. There’s a glint in his eyes that passed through both of his lenses. The man smile went bigger. Liam raised the glass he had in hand. “A toast to you, Uncle.” He spoke The man raised his glass up in the air too with an extended arm. “Not only to you but to yourself too, my nephew.” ** Samantha hand were busy flipping the pages of the magazine, changing it through her fingers that skimmed over the paper. “You know, the design is very nice.” She talked. Gregory was busy writing something on paper. His head turned towards her. Samantha was sitting on the bed while Gregory was on the wooden chair. The papers he had were neatly scattered on top of the same dark-brown wooden table that was well polished. He adjusted the paper he was working with before he stood from his seat and walked towards Samantha. Samantha was following through his movements. She then smiled warmly upon seeing him coming towards her. She felt a soft turb because of his movement. Her eyes danced with a spark of joy before she handed him the magazine. But Gregory held her hand, steadied it for her to have a much firm grasp of the thing she was holding. “Just stay still. I’ll see the thing with you.” Gregory uttered. Samantha nodded her head before she straightened herself while creating a space for him. Gregory went closer. His movement almost nudging. Before he scooted over and rested his chin on top of her shoulder blade. “Want me to buy it for you? He asked suddenly that made Samantha’s eyes big. She was staring at him in disbelief. Gregory carefully held her chin and showed a playful grin on his face. “You like it right? Then let me buy it for you?” Samantha’s lip quivered for a bit before she slightly moved her lips, holding the smile from coming off her mouth. She didn’t answer him but instead had this happy expression on her face. She went back to stare at the picture of the property she is seeing. “This one looked very peaceful.” She then raised her head and looked at him. “You are a lover of nature, wife.” He uttered. Before his eyes went back to where Samantha previously looked. He then nodded in an agreement. “I like it too.” They both stared at each other. Then both smiled since the two of them immediately realized something. Samantha went closer. Before she closed the magazine. She then turned her body and hugged him. Gregory was fast to wrapped his arms around her, enveloping him with his embrace. Samantha’s hands were wrapped around his back too. Before she felt his hand lightly patting her head. “Do you love the city?” She asked. Gregory was then slowly massaging her back with his fingers. Slowly drawing circles that made Samantha’s hair on the back of her nape stood. “I like it. It’s where I grew with my footing. How about you?” Samantha thought about the place. She loved it. In fact, she loved it very much but then there’s always been something she’s been wanting to have while she lived almost most of the years of her life in it. There’s always been a longing that exist. The desire to go beyond the borders of the city and take a leap of faith to somewhere out there. But that somewhere out there must contain peace in it. “I love the city too. But you know I have always longed for something else. A certain place. I have this place in the back of my mind for years now. I haven’t really had the chance to go outside of my comfort zone and see that place for myself.” She answered. She felt Gregory pulling away from the hug but his hand then settled on her waist. He was looking at hr before she felt her fingers caressing her cheek. “Then, we’ll go there. I’ll go there with you. It will be the two of us on our own adventure.” Gregory told her. Samantha caught his fingers with her own one and she held it. She smiled with delight upon staring at Gregory. ** Liam was staring at the lying Grace on a hospital bed. His eyes were too fixated on her. He then flashed out the cellphone out of his suit, checking the messages in his inbox. Before his eyes landed on a particular contact. (“You need to be with her for a while. She’s in your care now…”) Liam did not try to type a reply to the message and instead he inserted it back to his pocket. His eyes went back towards Grace. “I’ll help you attain the justice you truly deserve, Grace.” He muttered in a low voice. His eyes were full of longing and there’s sadness in her eyes. His eyes went towards her hand. Liam slowly began reaching to hold it with his fingers before he stopped himself from fully touching her. “I’ll do whatever it takes for you to have your justice, Grace. It’s that one promise I know that I can truly fulfill despite the times when I failed to do all those promises I made towards you.” He then tore his eyes suddenly, almost as if he was in pain while he was staring at her face. Liam breath heavily before he began walking away towards the door. But then he failed to see how Grace’s forefinger moved as he turned his back from her…
