[Samantha] “The house was well-proportioned.” Samantha was tying the laces on Cassidy’s back. They were talking about the two-storey stoned-built house that they went into. “Well, it has an antique look.” Cassidy glanced sideways. “Tighter please. I love this bodies, Sam. It’s such a great spine tightener.” She uttered her words in a happy tone. Samantha obliged and she tightened her dress. “This looks lovely on you.” She muttered as she treaded her fingers to the remaining ends. Cassidy turned. Her spun was fast and she threw her a happy look. “I’ll be getting married next, Sam.” Samantha smiled at her. “Of course, you will. And you’ll be one of the prettiest bride, Cass.” “How’s you and Gregory anyway? Got any spicy improvements?” Cassidy asked. Samantha raised both of her brows at her and she then shook her head. But she was smiling at her. “You are unbelievable. How come you thought of a new word to create. Spicy improvements, really Cass?” She questioned it in a playful tone. The other giggled at her words. “The earlier the marriage was consummated, the better.” She reached for her hands and held it with such softness. “And aren’t you excited? You’ll be fulfilling your dreams, Sam. You now have the gift, and its him. He’s good and such a suitable pair for you. Didn’t you want to build a family built in warmth and full love?” Samantha’s head then thought about it. She then smiled. Her expression is appreciative. She caressed her hands too. “I know.” She uttered it with a small smile in her lips. “But it’s not solely the important thing we have to tend too. And besides he seemed to be encountering a problem in the office.” She told her. ** He was fussed and as he rumpled a piece of paper. His hands ran through his hair and he sighed heavily. Samantha saw him just like that and she didn’t bother to ask him why. He was alone, outside. He was sitting and the papers seemed to not leave his side. She went to looked for him when she didn’t see him in the bedroom, beside her. And here he was… Gregory was muttering inaudible cusses. Before he then checked his phone. Another cuss came out of his mouth then he began to send a quick reply. Samantha stood there. Behind the glass window, she was leaning on the side of the wall looking at her husband. She then closed the curtains and went back to climb the stairs. ** “You can ask him, Sam. He’s your husband.” Cassidy told her. Samantha’s lips moved before a smile pass her mouth. “You’re right. I’ll ask him.” It was a short reply. But the bothered feeling was still inside her. She wanted to know if he is having a hard time. [Gregory] Niccolo handed him the envelope. “You have to read that.” His eyes stared at him with seriousness in it. Gregory reluctantly held the envelope and he shook his head at him. “You might need it.” Niccolo added. Gregory sighed. “They’re joining forces.” He then leaned towards the other side and turned. His eyes were on the open field. “Are they planning how to get rid of me?” His eyes then went serious. His expression changed. “They won’t be able to get rid of my existence. I’ll prove them how wrong they are for assuming that they can get away with it.” “How about your wife? Have you already told her of the truth?” Niccolo then asked. Gregory went rigid. His expression even turned harder. He then took a deep breath before he turned to stare at Niccolo. “I haven’t. I haven’t told her yet.” “Tell her, Greg. She deserves to know the truth. You have to tell early before she might hear it coming from someone else’s mouth.” Gregory didn’t spoke of any reply and instead he went to tap his friend on the shoulder. Niccolo therefore upon reading the situation, nodded his head at him. He then gave him a tap back. “I’ll go now. You have to watch and take care of her, Greg.” Niccolo said at him before he went inside his car. Flicked his fingers and waved goodbye to his friend while his engine stirred away from the sight. “You have to help me, Greg. I think they’re after me.” The words echoed in his head once again and Gregory blew a harsh breath out of his mouth. He then closed his eyes, tightly. “Greg.” Samantha called for him. “You have to prepare now. We still have a wedding to attend to.” Samantha reminded him. Their eyes met. And Gregory walked towards her, scanning her from head to toe. She suddenly stilled as she stood feeling conscious about her look. Samantha then saw how he smiled as he finished looking at her overall being. “You look beautiful, Sam.” Gregory stared at her with an intense gaze. He neared then his fingers went towards her cheek, softly grazing the back of his forefinger before he then lightly let his finger tangle the strands of her hair in it. He was swirling the strands, playing with it for a second before he then tucked it in the back of her ear. Samantha’s breath hitched before she held his hand. Her cheeks have the pinkish glow and she smiled almost as if she is shy. Gregory chuckled because of what he saw in her face. He leaned towards her. His face was inches away from her. He was smiling at her. Samantha’s mouth moved. She then had a small pout in her. Her eyes were then looking away from im. “You’re teasing me.” Her voice had a huff of a bit of grudge in it. Gregory’s mouth moved once more. His smile widened. Before he then he held her chin. His touch was gentle that Samantha suddenly felt the air that passed in her skin. She then lightly shivered because of it. She then met his gaze. No hint of mischief can be seen in his eyes. But she saw herself in his own lenses. “I love you, Sam.” Gregory then uttered so suddenly. His words suddenly made her eyes big. It was too sudden. And his words, his words made her heart leap. It leaped, she felt it moved inside of her. She then stared at him, shaking her head for a bit. She was opening her mouth but no words came out of it. She closed it and her eyes were still staring at him, in shock. “No Sam.” He held both the side of her cheek. “What you heard. You heart it right. I love you, Sam. I meant it.” He assured her. His face then looked at her with worriedness in it. He can feel his pulse rummaging the only organ inside his ribcage. He suddenly felt scared. Did I say it too early? Have I scared her? “Sam, please. Please say something, Sam. You’re scaring me.” Gregory uttered the words and his eyes still looked afraid. Samantha seemed to process everything that is happening in front of her. She met his gaze. She cupped his face with her gentle touch. She equaled the intensity of his stare towards her. She looked at him eagerly. Before she opened her words. This time she finally had the words she can utter towards him. “Greg, I love you. I love you too.” She uttered her words softly. Gregory’s expression suddenly changed. The light in his face then appeared. He stared at her with the pure adoration in his gaze. He then pulled her close towards him before his lips landed on the top of hers…
