“Denying it won’t make you lose the gift, Arya, the sooner you accept it, the sooner it will become your strength.” He advised me,” We need to go back to the packhouse now.” I was still processing what his words meant. Still, in a daze, Rem helped me up from the bath, he got a towel for me and even extra clothes on. He turned around to let me have m privacy and change my wet clothes. And when I was done, Rem quietly guided me back. He was exchanging some quick nervous glances with me, but I continued walking dumbfoundedly. I cleared my throat, “What about my gift? Why are you acting as if I’m the most dangerous person here?” I felt a bit happy knowing that I have a gift, something I have an advantage on. Rem put his finger on my lips, his eyes looking left and right to check if someone heard me through the dark and in the middle of the woods. “Be careful there, Arya. We must keep this a secret. Do not tell anyone, including Kai.” I kept quiet, knowing that Rem is only advising what was best for me, but something inside me wants to challenge that. As soon as we were back to the packhouse, Rem acted like what happened back at the river was my imagination. He continued acting like his usual goofy and teasing self while I was left wondering how I could utilize my power and use it to my advantage. Seems that there is much more that I need to learn about myself. If this comes to it, won’t it be a waste not to use it for my good? I want to train myself and harness this power. and to do that, I need to look for a mage. or witch. I am too tired of being weak now. It’s time for me to let my capability shine. My stomach has been hurting for days now. and as each second pass by, I am torn and pinned to a corner to make a decision. Should I keep or lose our babies? but that is not even a question for me because I would never do it. Just then, the door opened and I could see my father walking in. “good morning my dear, are you well rested?” I cringed, feeling how I am dying from the pain in my belly. I didn't; ’t have to reply as my father instantly understood me. He sighed, went closer to me, and wanted to comfort me, but I could see him hesitating, checking if it would be comfortable for me. “As much as I do not want to pressure you, dear Arya, time is running out. you’re only torturing yourself. from the pain, it pains me to see you hurting like this.” I could see true sadness in his eyes and I bit my lip, “But…I still want to think about it.” He nodded, “Well, it’s up to you. But dear, I forgot to mention, we have a special guest coming up.” I blinked, “Who?” “I figure you might know him, if you want to see him, I can let him see you.” He said and left the room. Rem appeared soon after and helped me to my father's office. Just then, I could see him talking with someone and a very familiar scent. Part of me hoped that it was Kai. wishing at least that it was him. But seems fate is playing with me. The moment I entered the door, I could see the person I was least expecting. The same vampire. Gusev. He seems to sense me as he stopped talking to my father and waved at me, “Oh, Arya? Is that you?” He then stood up to hug me. I slightly pushed him, raising my eyebrows at him, and felt a bit irritated. I sniffed him again, and could smell kai again, “You smelled like kai..” Gusev paused then chuckled sheepishly, “Oh, that smell? He might have rubbed on me.” I frowned, feeling impatient at his reply, “Where is he?” He cleared his throat, glancing at my father who was looking at me firmly, and gulped, “Well, I believe that conversation is for the next time…but wow look at you.” His eyes narrowed at my belly, “Wow, you’ve grown twice since the last time I saw you.” He attempted to lighten the air, but I am still annoyed that he wasn’t Kai there… Father stood up, “I heard great stories from him about you, Arya, so I thought you both are great friends.” Gusev laughed at that, loving the idea, “Oh yes, we are indeed great friends, right Arya? You hated me so much at first that you looked like you wanted to chew my hands off when you first saw me. what a cute first impression we had.” Gusev laughed at that, loving the idea, “Oh yes, we are indeed great friends, right Arya? You hated me so much at first that you looked like you wanted it to chew my hands off when you first saw me. what a cute first impression we had.” I scoffed at his sarcasm. My father seemed delighted hearing that, not sensing the sarcasm as he nodded. I stared at him, feeling like it is unusual for werewolves like us to work with vampires… “Father, your pack works with the vampires?” “No, but I maintained to have peaceful negotiations with them.” I nodded, trying to keep calm as possible. My father smiled at me, “if you’re that excited, I can allow you Gusev to talk with her. I know it must have been hard trapped here and only knowing Rem and me. I want you to be able to talk.” Guse nodded, “Yes, thanks, Leo!” Gusev then guided me outside. I glanced at Rem who also shrugged and let us. As soon s we were out, I raised my eyebrows at him, “You seem to be great friends with my father.” I knew that my father is an alpha so of course, it would be natural that he has great hearing. He could hear us from here so I know I should not just blurt out anything about kai. But Gusev seemed to have other ideas in mind and wanted to keep teasing me. “Awe, can I see at least your smile? I traveled across borders to see you.” I rolled my eyes. Last time, Gusev was helpful to us when he helped Alpha Ace from dying, and even offered to accompany us, but it irritates me to see him living a comfortable life like traveling and going around places he finds entertaining just because he was bored. “It’s been months since we have last seen each other…” He said. I know, and I do not care. I wanted to say but I stopped myself. I d not know if it is my pregnancy ut I hate his scent now, and I felt like vomiting. I sighed, “Why are you here?” It’s not just some coincidence, isn’t it? He must have something hidden behind his sleeves. “Yes, why am I here?” He cleared his throat, “Well, I am here to deliver a message from the higher-ups to your father.”
