72 Lost Angel

I sighed, “Why are you here?” It’s not just some coincidence, isn’t it? He must have something hidden behind his sleeves.
“Yes, why am I here?” He cleared his throat, “Well, I am here to deliver a message from the higher-ups to your father.”
I was suddenly reminded of the last time at the river, my father’s life. I saw him there, my father made a deal with him.. but I have to act like I didn't know so I asked.
“What? You already knew that my father is…”
He shrugged, “I wasn’t sure, at first, because it has been too long since I last seen him and now it's confirmed...I guess it was finally time for you to meet your true father.”
I breathed deeply, partly blaming him, “If you knew it already., then you should have told me sooner…..I thought we were friends?”
He pouted, “Awe, I apologize, Arya. I didn't want to ruin the mystery your father wanted.. and it is your life. I do not want to butt in.”
He then suddenly blurted out, “Your father is the new elder.”
I gasped, “What? elder?”
Elders are regarded highly by us! Each region has it, and they are strong and important people or the most influential alphas.
“Since Alpha Kamilah and Magnus fought with Druscilla and have him removed from his position, the other elders are threatened by the imbalance. They have been quietly looking for the most suitable replacement and I suggested you father.”
I blinked, “And my father accepted the role?”
He shrugged, “He might. He is still thinking about it.”
I nodded, feeling this news is great for my father. That means he’s one h the most competitive alphas out there. Not that I met every alpha in the whole werewolf realm.
After that, Gusev asked to talk to me and catch up.
“Where’s kai? Is he not going to rescue me here?”
Gusev shrugged, “I do not know, I have been busy..”’
I blinked, remembering my dreams, “It was you….my father did not kill the triplet’s parents…..it was you….”
“Nope, that time, your father was on the verge of death, and I simply just compared to his requests he still hasn’t paid the price....that I will soon be collecting.”
That made me frown, “What price?”
“You.”
“What?” Suddenly, I could feel my belly erupting. as if my baby was fighting to crawl out so I fell on the floor at the sudden excruciating pain.
Thank goodness= that Gusev was quick enough to catch me. He instantly called for my father and Rem.
Gusev then lightly tapped on my cheek, “Arya? Are you still there? Are you okay?”
I shook my head, screaming and crying. “It hurts so much!”
I could see my father approaching me and Rem carrying me now.
“she’s. bleeding again!” Yelled Rem and rushed me outside.
Everything was in chaos and I could see my father trying to remain calm in the situation.
My eyelids felt heavy and I fell asleep.
**
I caught a very beautiful woman. Strong facial features and her hair was flying everywhere, yet I could see how delicate she is. She has been eyeing the dark land in front of us and quietly staying still. I felt like I had seen her somewhere but I couldn’t recall where it was.
I paused, wondering where I was.
“Excuse me? Where am I?” I asked her and she turned to me and gasped.
“What are you doing here? You are not supposed to be here.”
I frowned, “Why not?” I couldn't even remember exactly how I got here.
“This is the land of the dead.” She suddenly blurted to me and I gulped. Looking around, I noticed we were in an empty desert. it felt hot and cold, and the air was moist. A few people were waiting in line at the front, and some had dead eyes.
This is…the land of the dead…filled with dead people.
I gasped. This is not true. She must be joking. There is no way I am dying, and going here...
“What?”
She then smiled gently at me, “Arya, I have been watching you, my child, ”You seem to get my gift. You can talk to the dead.”
As if this is not surprising enough, I was still in utter shock. I gasped, wait, did she just say dead?” And this woman is..aha, I recall her now. That is why she looks so familiar because I had seen her in my dreams, my dead mother…Lillian.
I breathed deeply, trying to calm down now.
“You’re dead?” My hands instinctively held my belly. “Wait, my baby!” I was panicking, but her hands patted my back.
“Relax. Since you managed to get here, relax, my child.”After a while of patting me and reassuring me, I somehow calmed enough. I was still processing the fact of how I got here but I couldn’t remember anything.
My memory is too blurry, and I felt like I am gloating on the sand. I felt cold sweat, and at the same time feeling cold.
I spotted that everyone was waiting in line in front and my mother was just watching them here, “Why are you not going there?”
She slightly turned her head and smiled at me, “Because I am waiting for someone.”
“Who?”
“Your father. Leomourd.” Her tone sounded nostalgic and sad, but her eyes were twinkling with happiness.
So she has been waiting all these years for my father?
I scowled, it has been years then….”Don’t you get tired waiting here?”
“No. I know he’s doing his best there. I’ll just stay here and wait for him.”
I sighed, feeling a bit pitiful to my mother, “But it is lonely here…you’re alone, while everyone else s moving on the next.”
How come it’s possible that I only saw her now physically, but I felt that I had known her my entire life?
My mother sent me a graceful smile, “At Least I could watch you from here..”
I couldn't help but let out the tears that I had been fighting back, I instantly grabbed her and laid my head on her shoulder.
I felt like I needed a all the time was my mothers hug, because I grew up without knowing I have one, and she was there, alone, waiting for my father.
Suddenly, tears gushed down my face like a waterfall. and while I wet her skin with my tears, my mother just patiently stood there, patting my head as she comforted me.
“Ah, my child, you can cry to me.”
