79 Afterall
I Didn't know how long I was out, but when I woke up, a sleeping Ace was beside me, holding my hand as his head lay on my bed. It seemed that they settled everything as I was carefully placed in a room. When I stirred, Ace instantly woke up and smiled at me.
“Hi beautiful, Luna Kira,” he greeted me and caressed my cheek. “Ah, you look so attractive in this post birth but how come you still manage to tempt me effortlessly?”
I rolled my eyes at his words, wondering where the hell his sudden sweetness came from. However, our sweet moment was cut off when the pain in my whole body returned. “Ugh, my body. I can still the pain, Ace. Where’s Lana? How’s our child?”
Ace tried to caress me. “Do not worry, my beloved. Everything is going to be alright. Lana went out to settle some matters, and your childbirth was a success.”
I blinked, not even remembering how it all happened after I fainted.
The door suddenly opened and I could see Lana appear- ing, along with a cloth wrapped in her arms.
She smiled at me, happily approaching me. “Congrats, witch mama, your little tri-blooded child is here.”
I was frozen seeing the adorable baby in her arms.
I gulped, nervously holding my arms out for the baby. “He’s a healthy young boy. Have you decided on a name yet?”
Lana’s question pulled me into a trance as soon as my baby was in my arms.
Tears streamed down my face, my heart melted and an indescribable feeling was present.
I stared in awe, lost for words as Lana giggled, leaving me alone with my baby and Ace.
“He looks so adorable. Looks just like you,” Ace
mumbled, smiling down at him and kissing my lips.
His eyes were a beautiful shade of hazel, much like mine, but his dark hair was much similar to Ace's.
“Hi there, little one.”
I couldn’t contain the smile on my face. The way my baby giggled as we stared at each other, both of us in awe. Ah, I felt like I could just stay in this moment forever. It felt like I had fulfilled my role as a woman.
And as Ace’s mate. And I felt like I was on cloud nine.
Like I transcended into heaven. And like I lost something but regained an even better reward.
Being a mother was so fulfilling, and I finally understood the moment of entering into motherhood.
“He seems to recognize his mother,” Ace said in awe.
I felt relieved that I only birthed one baby, and not a whole set of pups, to be honest. I didn’t think I could handle birthing three or more.
I couldn’t help but get teary-eyed.
“Awe, please don’t cry.”
“It feels like I have been through everything and now I am rewarded with him.”
“You deserve the whole world, baby.”
I cried into Ace’s arms while holding our baby. I was finally a mother.
I still couldn't comprehend it, and I felt overwhelmed with what the truth brought. Cradling him in my stomach was one thing, but now that he was physically here, I felt anxious.
How would his future be?
How was I going to raise him?
What if he decided to rebel against me?
“What if I’m not a good mother to him?” I asked Ace. “No, you will be,” he said. “And I am here. We will be
raising him together. It’s our first time, we will learn together.”
He mumbled encouraging words to me and that assured me.
Ace’s calming presence and words were enough to make me face everything head-on. We stayed for a moment like that. Snuggling him and him enjoying our presence.
Ace was just watching us as he smiled at us. “What?”
“I just couldn’t help but admire the woman I love, and the child we formed.” I smiled.
“This is my favorite view,” he said.
“Me too.”
Ace then carried him and admired our baby.
“I love that he looks just like you. I can just watch him
and feel like I am looking at your eyes.” Our baby giggled, and Ace bumped his nose into him.
“I can’t wait for you to grow and I’ll teach you how to hunt!” Ace exclaimed.
“Relax, he just came to the world.”
Ace then gently put our baby to the cradle. It didn’t take long for our baby to go back to sleep and Ace came to my side to caress me.
“Ah, Kira!” I was shocked to hear a sudden scream from outside and saw Arya, now entering the room. She was with Alpha Kai, Alpha Kamilah, and Alpha Magnus.
Ace looked at them with a scowl. “Shh, keep quiet, our baby is sleeping!”
Arya instantly apologized,
“We came as soon as we heard you woke up.” Alpha Kamilah smiled at me and they watched my sleeping baby.
“Awe, he’s adorable!” Arya exclaimed.
“He looks just like you, Kira,” Alpha Kamilah muttered. “Hmm, I can definitely see Ace’s energy there. Looks like
this kid will grow up to be tough like his father,” Alpha Kai commented beside.
Alpha Magnus chuckled and glanced at Ace beside me. “Who was it who was tearing up after seeing Kira faint? And then fainted too?”
“Bastard, stop mocking me.” Ace glared at Magnus.
“Oh, shut up, who was it that couldn’t bear to watch my birthing?” asked Alpha Kamilah, her eyes looking at her mate and Alpha Magnus went quiet.
“Your baby is a fighter. He ate his twins... you could have birthed three,” said Gusev, who appeared out of nowhere.
My eyes widened at that information. “What?”
Ace frowned at Gusev. “Shh, she doesn’t have to know that.”
Everyone was here. Laughing. And it felt nice that it felt like a get-together again. Something like a reunion. As if we were old friends trying to bond again.
Except we have a plus one now. I felt a bit sad that I couldn’t show my baby to my mother and let my mom carry him.
How nice would it be if Mom was still alive. I shook my head no. I should not be thinking about that. She was here in my heart and she was watching us.
I was sure she was happy. Suddenly, the air started to get chilly as Alpha Magnus spoke up. “Now that a tri blood is born, an heir to the witch realm and Crimson pack, everyone will go after him. And it won’t help that he’s the son of the Lycan King. It will be a big responsibility for him.”
“He’s a werewolf, human, and a witch. Just think of the endless possibilities he could do to destroy us.” Alpha Kamilah sighed, agreeing with her mate.
Gusev decided to break the tension as he asked, “Can I hold him?”
Ace instantly rejected that. “No.”
More teasing came after that as Alpha Kai, Alpha Magnus and Gusev decided to talk at the corner.
Alpha Kamilah then patted me on the head like I was her little sister. “I can’t wait to let my pups meet your son.” Arya nodded. “My triplets would be ecstatic to meet
another playmate.”
I smiled at them. “I can’t wait for that moment then.”
I could feel their warmth and willingness to help. And I
always appreciate their efforts. I am glad that I made friends with them, enough that we can confide with each other.
Having to restore the realm whole while dealing with everything was chaos. The aftermath of the fight, along with my postpartum while taking care of my baby seemed like a difficult job for me.
Thank goodness I had Lana, Arya, and Alpha Kamilah by my side. However, they only stayed for a few days before returning to their packs.
Gusev stayed a bit to annoy us and even claimed it himself that he was the best uncle and babysitter, but I didn’t trust him completely knowing how he handled things.
He’d just be a bad influence on my baby.
I had once seen him rushing to get my baby and I thought he would kidnap him... but thank goodness he didn’t.
He was also running around teasing and flirting with Lana.
“Can you name your son after me?” Gusev suddenly asked me as I let him carry my baby. At this point, I still haven’t decided on what I should name him.
“No.”
“How about Sebastian? For short Sevy,” he suggested. “No.”
“Or Noah?”
“So basic.”
“Ugh. I’ll call him Wiggles then.”
I gave him a look. “Why?”
“Because he looks cute. If any trouble comes again, don’t hesitate to call me.”Download Novelah App
