Chapter 40: Visiting The Williams.

As mad as this makes me feel, I feel like I should make it something memorable, something more, it pisses me off that they just robbed me off my champion, yet they gave me another opportunity to redeem myself, to beat that guy into humiliation like he did to me, to beat him for trying to take a chance in something that was never his, to show everyone that my defeat brought us to this, for redemption within myself.
I can't do anything about the judges confirmation, they've done whatever they feels like, it now left for me to turn the table around, to make the story to be all about me. I can see that it's all business for them, they're trying to make an income from this fight, setting a final which will bring out more crowd, the fact that it's also between me and my competitor, I can say they did hit a jackpot, now it's left for me to make that F**k*r regret taking this chance in the first place.
I know that I won't be getting this kind of opportunity during week days, so I made plans that it would be today or not soon, having scheduled myself all through, this Sunday seems like the best for me to make this journey, so this chance, I won't be wasting.
Clifford wanted to go with me, he missed his opportunity the last time and doesn't want a repeat of it, we will be going with his vehicle rather than the public bus or train. I invited Mary along, for some reasons, I wanted her to meet with my parents, they possibly know a good girl when they see one.
I have been involved in a toxic relationship for a double times already, the third will really be a huge setback, something I really don't want, I have seen Mary, I have known Mary, she possibly doesn't know that I knew about her background already, but I will just wait until the day she brings it up.
Dad once had something like that, it was kind of a famous story too, hearing it from Uncle Frankie, it's definitely a trend during that time, yet things ended up toxic, I don't know whether Dad knew that I have happened to find out about that, but knowing my Dad, he knows everything, can possibly detect even my own next move.
I took in a deep breath, standing in front of the door, I turned and looked at Mary who was by my side, a smile on her face like she was ready for this, I looked behind me at Clifford who's the one looking nervous, probably his dream visit, to see his long time role model.
I have heard something about meeting your role model, best you keep watching them from a distance and love things they do, than get close to them only to end up resenting them in the near future, that wasn't something I am gonna be telling Clifford, no, Best he meets Dad himself and confirm for himself the level of boundaries my Dad live in.
The door was opened as I saw the pair of eyes staring into my smiling face, it's been months already, they all never left my mind even for a single day. I can see that she's kind of petrified right now, possibly doesn't know how to control the emotions washing through her as she's trying to stay calm, holding herself back, I can tell all that by the way her fists were folded, tears came down from her eyes as I heard a familiar voice calling out for her.
“ Benita!.... Who's that at the door?”. It's my mom's voice, I think I should stand here and wait for her to come see me with her own eyes, Benita came forward, gently pulled her hands around me and hugged me tight, by the way her arms were knotted around me, she's definitely not leaving me anytime soon.
My mom came to the door, immediately her eyes landed on me, she covered her lips with both of her palms, preventing herself from screaming out of joy, it didn't take some seconds to see her eyes watering, an emotion that affected me too, never knew that I was already crying too until I felt the liquid running down my cheeks, “ I'm home mom, I'm home ”.
We were seated in the dining table all together, David was the only one who wasn't present, he isn't at home now, Dad and mom were both seated at each end of the table, me and Mary sitting opposite each other as well as Clifford and Benita. Our feets were touching together, me and Mary, the smile never escaping her face as the bravest girl I know turns shy.
“ So glad you decided to visit us son, never knew you would be coming....”, my Dad said, his expression that of his loving former safe that treated us with love and care, not the hostile him that sent me away from home.
“ Today looks like the perfect fit to come meet with you guys, with my training and fights taking over my week, I can barely make a leisure time for myself again if not today....”, I replied him, I can see the smile plastered on his face, showing the joy within him that I am here, that I came.
“ Mr Williams, I have always been a fan, since I was a boy, I have wanted nothing that to achieve your level of mindset, though I am kind of making an impact, I am really glad that I am here sitting with you....”.
My Dad was just nodding, never replying what Clifford just said, he possibly have nothing to say to that, which brought a smile onto my lips, Clifford looked at me to know whether he might've said something wrong, which makes it more funnier, not that my Dad wasn't interested in small talks, but he just doesn't know what to say when it's a small talk, that the difference.
