They continued driving until they reached the front of the academy. The surroundings seemed calm for now so they quickly entered. “I will report to Callix first.” Lalaine said, since she’s from the Black Sheep unit. Taylor agreed, then entered their den. Briana packed everything they can use as self defense since they will be participating in a huge war soon. Taylor took the first aid kit off the cabinet and cleaned the wounds of Nathanya, who didn’t stop crying even for a minute. They were almost done with what they’re doing when someone suddenly knocked loudly at the door, as if wanting to smash it down. Briana rushed to the door with her guard up and opened it. Seeing that it was only Callix, she calmed down a bit and let the latter come in, together with Jade and Lalaine. “Wha… what happened?!” she asked after entering. Taylor just lowered her gaze but didn't lower her head. After receiving no response from any of them, she walked towards Nathanya and slapped her.
“What the fuck are you doing Callix?!” Briana scolded her and quickly shielded Nathanya. “What the fuck am I doing? I just slapped her. If not because of her weakness, will they be able to kidnap them?! I lost two of my precious friends just because of this weakling?! Have you gone blind protecting her?!” she yells. Lalaine and Jade tried their best to stop her but they couldn’t. “It’s not her fault!” Briana yelled back. “Are you done? We are hospitable enough to accept you inside our den even though it’s against the rules. And yet, you’re harassing one of my subordinates in front of me and inside our territory? You don’t know anything. You don’t know what happened. You’re not even there when we badly need you. How can you act like this when you didn’t even respond when we called for help. Get out of our den while I am still able to hold everything in.” Taylor told her and pointed to the door. “You will regret this. You will all regret this! And you!” she said while pointing to Nathanya. “I will never ever forgive your soul!” she added before coming out of the den. Briana quickly turned to look at the now swollen face of Nathanya. “She’s right… It's my fault. Don’t be mad at her.” she said and started crying again.
“No it’s not. You hear me? It’s not your fault. Don’t mind her, okay?” Briana said and caressed her swollen face. Taylor went to the kitchen and fetched some ice. She handed it to Nathanya. “Stop blaming yourself.” she coldly said, before closing her eyes. She’s not sleeping. She’s thinking about something. “What?!” Mr. Demethry yelled as Ashton Assuncion relayed the news about the death of his son. “Gather everyone! I will not just let my only son die just like that! Go search for them and don’t ever come back here bare handed! Understand?!” He added before knocking the table off. He was still on the verge of killing anyone who would come near him when a sudden knock came. Thinking it might be Ashton, he harshly opened the door. “What?!” he asked but it’s not Ashton who he saw. Instead, what he saw was a crying Callix. He tried his best to calm down. “Come in. What happened?” he asked. Callix tried to control her grief but she couldn't so he let her cry for a while and waited for her to calm down a bit. “Lace… and Drake… they’re dead.” she said then started crying again. “And the same goes with Claude, my son.” Mr. Demethry answered. Callix looked at him with confusion spelled on her irises. “Claude is my one and only son. I intentionally hid his identity to protect him from my enemies. But who would think that he was going to be killed by someone I trusted the most?” Callix’s heart is being blinded by grief and anger interferes with the proper flow of decisions inside her brain. “I know where they are. I can tell you where they are.” she suddenly said that made Lalaine and Jade flinch. How can she betray them like this? The two were standing outside but they could clearly hear what they’re talking about inside. “They’re at their den. They’re hiding there.” Callix told Demethry. The latter called on Ashton and asked him to gather everyone in front of his office before they attack the unit of Taylor. “Go warn them. Quick!” Jade ordered Lalaine, who obeyed immediately. It was dark outside so no one would know that she slipped out to warn Taylor. She knocked immediately at the door the moment she approached it. “Taylor?! Briana?! Open the door! It’s me, Lalaine.” she said and seconds later, Briana opened the door. She quickly rushed in and shut the door behind her. “Callix had betrayed you. She told Mr. Demethry where he can find you. Go and run away as soon as possible. He had gathered everyone in front of his office and is now on their way here. Quick!” she said and pulled Taylor to get up. When Taylor finally got up, Lalaine assisted Nathanya. “There’s no time to be weak, young lady. Go get your ass up and run.” she told Nathanya as she assisted her in going up. They were about to open the door at the back of the den when the front door suddenly burst open. “And where the hell do you think you’re going?!” Mr. Demethry asked. “Lalaine? How could you?” Callix asked after seeing her subordinate with Taylor. “She will just put you in danger. Come here. Now!” she ordered but Lalaine didn’t listen. “You’re out of your mind to betray them, Callix! You don’t know what happened! You are not there! You didn’t saw what happened there! It was Claude who caused Lace, Liam and Drake’s death. That bastard killed my brothers! He deserved his death!” Lalaine answered. Jade on the other side, was feeling pained after seeing their leader become a traitor. She can still remember what Callix told her once. ‘If I ever betray my friends, please just kill me on the spot.” “Stop arguing in front of me! Go kill them all!” Mr. Demethry yelled and all of his men attacked. Briana has long been preparing her weapon and the same goes with Taylor. Briana loaded her crossbow with an arrow planted with an explosive device, released it and made an explosion, enough to give them and the men of Demethry Smith a quite good distance to escape. One thing is running through their minds now, they’re safely in danger.
