Taylor’s team followed the directions that Nathanya had given.
“There’s a small graveyard there intended for strangers that died there. Shall we bury Ate Lalaine there?” Nathanya asked after seeing that they were almost there. “Let’s do that.” Taylor simply answered. Her gaze was casted downwards. Pain, anger, sadness and exhaustion evident on her beautiful face. Nathanya grabbed her hand. Taylor looked at her and Nathanya saw that she was on the verge of crying. Nathanya moved closer to her and Taylor immediately wrapped her arms around her waist, not even minding that there were other people inside the car that’s with them. “I’m so tired. Too tired.” Taylor whispers. Nathanya caressed her hair. “Then rest. I’ll wake you up when we’re there.” Nathanya answered. Taylor immediately closed her eyes and fell asleep. Nathanya leaned her head on the headrest but she didn’t sleep since she’s the one giving directions. After quite some time of driving, their car finally had a moment to stop. "Let's bury Ate Lalaine here." She said. The place was not crowded with graves but it was clean, as if someone spent a special time cleaning it. "Thanya? Is that you?" A woman wearing dirty clothes and holding some cleaning tools asked. Nathanya turned her head around and saw the woman. "Nana Ester?" She asked back. The woman smiled and put everything she's holding down to hug Nathanya. "Good to see you back. You've grown so well!" The woman said and caressed her hair.
"What are you doing in this graveyard?" Nana Ester asked again. "We'll bury a friend here. If that's okay." Nathanya answered. "A friend? Did something probably happen while you're away?" Nana Ester asked. Nathanya nodded and let out a deep sigh. "It's a long story, Nana Ester."she simply said and watched as Jade, Briana and Taylor dig a grave for Lalaine. It took them half an hour before they finished burying the body of Lalaine. "Are you going home now Nana Ester? It's pretty late now." Nathanya asked, forgetting to introduce the people with her. Nana Ester nodded and Nathanya turned her head to check on her friends. That's when she realized she hadn't introduced them to Nana Ester yet. "I forgot. Nana Ester, they are my friends. This is Ate Jade, Ate Briana and Ate Venice." She said, pointing to each person as she introduced them. After hearing how Nathanya introduced Taylor, Briana knew that the latter would not like the idea of another person calling her using her second name. So she took the initiative to correct Nathanya. “Hmm… you can call her Taylor.” Briana said while pointing at Taylor. Seeing the dark aura surrounding the beautiful lady being pointed, Nana Ester didn’t say anything more. As if she sensed that using the name Taylor is safer than calling her Venice. "This is Nana Ester, my former nanny." Nathanya said. The three other people nodded in respect to show that they are happy meeting her. "Ride with us. That'll be more convenient for you." Briana suggested. They all went inside the car to head to where Nathanya’s residence is located. “What are you doing at that place late at night?” Jade asked Nana Ester, as if forgetting that Nana Ester is not an underaged person anymore. “I have dedicated my life to cleaning that place. The love of my life, my husband, is buried there. He was actually the first one to be buried there. When he died, the town chief had decided that it would be a place where people who were not born here would be buried. As time passed by, the number of the dead buried there increased, giving the place a need for cleaning.” Nana Ester answered her. Aside from that conversation, their travel was silent, as if saying a single word will add to the weight of the awkwardness. It took them another twenty minutes before they reached the entrance to the town where Nathanya came from.
“Welcome to Paradise.” Nana Ester greeted them with a smile, a genuine one. Taylor felt her heart skip a beat after seeing that smile. It’s been years since she saw such a smile, a motherly smile. She resisted with the temp of hugging the old woman in front of her. “Paradise?” Briana asked. Nana Ester smiled. “Yes. That's the name of our town. Since the people inside this town love plants and flowers, our ancestors decided to call it Paradise, aside from the fact that it looks like a very huge garden, with the plants, trees, grass and flowers surrounding it.” Nana Ester answered. Briana smiled, as if she remembered something significant. “She would love it here.’’ She said in a low voice but Nathanya was able to hear her, she caressed her back. Feeling the sudden feel of someone comforting her, Briana was not able to hide and keep the grief inside her heart. Her shoulders trembled as she tried suppressing the tears coming out of her hazelnut eyes. “We were almost at our house.” Nathanya informed them. Briana drove ten minutes more before Nathanya told her to stop. They have reached the house. They got out of the car and saw a house. It was a bungalow house, painted in moss green paint, as if it is designed to blend with the green surroundings. Although no one lived in it for years, it was surprisingly clean. Nana Ester gave Nathanya a necklace with a key as its pendant. Nathanya opened the front door and turned all the lights on. After going in, they were more amazed. It was all clean. The furnitures were dust free and spiderwebs were not welcomed. “I also spend some of my free time cleaning it. Now that you’re here, I’m glad that I did.” Nana Ester told Nathanya, who was so tired that she immediately threw herself on the sofa.
“Thank you Nana Ester. Where are you staying by the way?” Nathanya asked. “When I resigned to live with my husband, your dad had given me quite an amount of money, even too much to start with. We were able to buy a piece of land near the place where you got lost before.” Nana Ester answered her. “Ahh you must have been tired. Clean yourselves first while I cook something for you to eat before you sleep.” Nana Ester said and made her way to the kitchen. “There are three comfort rooms here. There’s one over there and also one inside my parents’ room. The other one was in my room.” Nathanya told them. “I’ll go get some towels and clothes for you.” she added then made her way to her room. It didn’t take her too much time and she came out of her room carrying everything the three might need. Briana and Jade grabbed what they needed and rushed to the comfort rooms. Taylor remained seated on the sofa, too lazy to even move a single muscle. “Aren’t you feeling sticky? Get up. Clean yourself, come on.” Nathanya asked and tried her best to pull Taylor up but not a single hair of the latter had moved. After quite some time of being pulled, Taylor counter grabbed her hands and pulled Nathanya on top of her instead. When Nathanya had landed on her top, her arms were immediately wrapped around her waist. “Let me be like this for a while, will you?” Taylor said and tightened her hug to Nathanya.
