CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE (LET'S UNWIND A BIT)

After an afternoon to evening discussion, Taylor, Briana and Nathanya finally waved goodbye. Jade chose to be left in her mom’s house and spend time with her.

“If you’ll need me, contact me anytime.” she said while seeing the other three off.
“We’re so happy for you.” Briana told her then hugged her. Nathanya followed suit. She felt a slight tugging while doing so and upon turning her head, she saw the unreadable face of Taylor. Vicky’s driver drove for them. It took about twenty minutes before they were finally home. Nana Ester was already in the kitchen preparing for their dinner.
“Did you enjoy your stroll?” she asked them as the three literally dropped themselves on the sofa.
“It’s a very, very tough stroll Nana Ester.” Briana answered her. Nana Ester looked around and realized that Jade was not with them.
“Where’s Jade?” she asked. Nathanya stood up and checked on what she’s cooking before answering.
“You will not believe it, Nana Ester. Too many coincidences happened in just one afternoon. I will tell you everything but can we eat first?” Nathanya asked before deciding to set up the table. Nana Ester smiled and shook her head.
After setting the table and serving the food, the four gathered to eat together. As they eat, Nathanya tells Nana Ester exactly what happened that afternoon. From how they found Leysie to how they found out that Jade is actually the daughter of Vicky.
“The world is really small, don’t you think?” Nana Ester asked them. They nodded in agreement with what she said.
“It really is.” Nathanya answered.
After eating and cleaning the kitchen, Nana Ester waved goodbye to them. Briana and Taylor took a bath while Nathanya just laid on her bed, staring at the ceiling. Taylor came out of her bathroom seeing this scene.
“What are you thinking about?” Taylor asked that scared the wit out of Nathanya.
“Goodness. You startled me.” Nathanya replied as she started to sit.
“Nothing much. I just think about how cruel and playful fate could be. Imagine, it collected us together, developed a bond between us then we’ll find out that it did the same thing to our parents?” Nathanya continued. Taylor sat down beside her while drying her hair.
“Yeah. And fate can also be unfair sometimes. Look what it did to them. To us.” Taylor answered.
“But I am glad that fate made a way for us to meet.” Nathanya said and took the initiative to wrap her hands around Taylor’s waist.
“Come to think of it, Ate Venice, you are slimmer than me, don’t you think?” Nathanya asked. Upon hearing this, Taylor felt her ears become hot and if she’ll check on them in front of the mirror, they might be redder than a tomato now. She didn’t say anything.
“Ahh, I suddenly remembered. Why did you tug on me when I tried to hug Ate Jade? Are you probably jealous?” Nathanya asked her again, a grin evident on her face.
“Why would I be? Although Jade is more attractive than I am, I still have some confidence in myself.” Taylor answered her and Nathanya couldn't believe what she heard. This gorgeous walking statue thinks that someone is more attractive than her?
“Have you looked and checked yourself in a mirror? What “more attractive” thing you’re saying there. You’re the most gorgeous person I have seen in my life!” Nathanya exclaimed that made Taylor blush more.
“Tsk! Liar.” Taylor replied instead of saying thank you.
“Ow come on. Why would I lie? You are beautiful, pretty, lovely, adorable although cold. You have porcelain skin, a slim waist, a height suited for you, long hair, phoenix eyes, pointed nose and cute lips.” Nathanya described her, making her more shy.
“Okay enough, enough. I can’t take it anymore.” Taylor answered before using force to pin Nathanya down on the bed.
“Are you probably flirting with me?” Taylor asked, her phoenix eyes giving off an expression of glittering lights.
“I… I am not.” Nathanya answered.
“Then don’t praise me too much. It’s dangerous.” Taylor said before letting her go. Nathanya can feel her heartbeat race and her mind going crazy. She guesses she must be very careful next time she try to praise her.
The next morning, they were awakened by some knockings on the door. It’s not Nana Ester since she has the keys with her so there’s no need for her to knock like that. Taylor stood up to answer the door. Upon opening the door, what greeted her was a child, a cute one.
“Hello good morning.” the child greeted, carrying a basket filled with freshly baked bread.
“Are you Ate Taylor?” the child asked again. Taylor nodded her head.
“Ow, I am Leysie. I am here to say thank you for saving me yesterday. I personally asked the bakery over there to prepare this for you.” Leysie introduced herself. Taylor finally remembered her. Seeing that Taylor was somewhat hesitant to accept the bread, Leysie thought maybe she thinks it’s not yet paid.
“Oh don’t worry. This is already paid by my aunt. I was actually dropped by her here.” Leysie told Taylor and the latter found it cute on how the little child analyzed her expression. She then accepted the basket and invited the young person inside.
“Woah! You got a nice house.” Leysie said as she hopped on the sofa.
“This house is not mine. We’re actually strangers here.” Taylor answered.
“Strangers? My aunt told me not to call anyone who’s not from here strangers. Instead, she said
I shall call them visitors. She said that’ll be more welcoming.” Leysie told her. Meanwhile, Briana and Nathanya were awoken after hearing Taylor talking to someone.
“Hello good morning.” Leysie greeted them the moment they walked in the living room.
“Oh. Good morning too young lady.” Briana answered and smiled.
“Woah. you are all so blessed.” Leysie suddenly exclaimed after seeing the three of them. The three stared at each other, mutually agreeing that this child is too cute to handle.
“Why?” Nathanya asked her.
“It’s because you’re all beautiful, aside from her.” Leysie answered and pointed at Taylor.
“Ate Taylor, you are so gorgeous. You’re the most beautiful lady I have seen in my entire life!” Leysie exclaimed, as she made some cute gestures.
“Ahh! You’re so cute!” Briana and Nathanya exclaimed at the same time. Nana Ester then arrived and saw the three already awake.
“Hello Nana Ester. Good morning.” Leysie greeted her. Nana Ester can’t help but smile after seeing her.
“Good morning to you as well my dear. Are you staying here for a while?” Nana Ester asked. Leysie nodded while swaying her cute feet.
“Good. I'll cook something yummy today. Wait for a while, okay? Don’t wander outside.” Nana Ester said and caressed Leysie’s hair.
“I won’t Nana Ester. I’ll stay here.” Leysie answered and she even leaned her small back on the sofa, as if proving that she will not go anywhere.
It didn’t take much time until they were finally able to eat.
“Thank you for the food Nana Ester.” Leysie said after finishing eating three cups of rice.
“You are very welcome.” Nana Ester answered and smiled.
Leysie even helped clean the kitchen. The three can’t help but to adore her.
“Shall we play outside?” Taylor asked Leysie. The latter nodded and happily tugged Taylor outside. Briana and Nathanya thought it’s cute how Leysie can make Taylor a soft baby as well. The two of them were left inside.
“What do you think she’s planning now that we know who to get revenge on?” Nathanya asked.
“I don’t know. But I guess it would be very nice to stay here and unwind for a bit.” Briana answered and continued with whatever she’s doing.
