Chapter 65: Rise back of the real goddess
In the midst of the clouds, a curious shadow of an unidentified monster emerged. The heavens parted, revealing a route that led them to an unending existence. When they continued to search for it for a little longer, the sun's beams emitted bright light that caused them to take a step back and turn their gaze away. Because the brightness was dazzling their eyes, they were avoiding opening their eyes as much as they could.
"Ack!" yelled Nover as he pulled his body away from them. "What type of unidentified beast is this once more?!" he asked, shouting.
Cherish, Flora, and Larch congregated on one side of a massive three-tiered structure where it caters to a great number of leaves, providing them with a safe haven from the limited access to sunlight they were getting. Cassius approached Hanaele from behind and dragged her away from the bright sunshine and into the covered area. Hanaele was discovered looking up at the sky, and Cassius thought it was odd that she was doing so.
Larch murmured into Flora's ear as the two of them were clinging on to each other in order to prevent being separated, particularly given the fact that Cherish was still not awake. Flora was left stunned as he wailed, "I believe this is the end of mankind," he murmured. She clung to Cherish with such tenacity that she couldn't bring herself to let go.
People on the opposite side of this realm, where Pag-asa inhabits, were in a state of utter fear. They rushed inside their houses and shut the doors behind them in order to get away from the scorching rays of the sun. Their plants started to rot and die, and their pets began to decompose and turn into a mush of fried flesh. There were even fires developing in some of the homes, and the threes were slowly igniting themselves, causing the whole area to become engulfed in flames.
Comrades, soldiers, regular townspeople, children, young people, and the elderly - practically everyone in the region was losing faith in their own ability to save their own lives. However, only Hanaele and Sophia were unaffected by the unpleasant presence of an unknown force emanating from a weird creature that emerged from the sky, the rest of them being impacted. Despite the quiet that may have been there above them, the birds began to descend and fry themselves.
There were no signs of a flood or an earthquake in the area. The environment was as serene as a midafternoon, yet it was only the unexpected, harsh rays of the sun that brought their lives to an end.
That night, the three soldiers who had followed Sophia were killed, but Sophia awoke unexpectedly, completely unaware of her own identity and having lost all trust in her own existence as Sophia Codache. She sat up straight, her gaze fixed on the horizon over her shoulders. It didn't seem to bother her at all, neither the radiation nor the scorching suns. She cast her gaze across the room and saw that the threes were progressively disappearing, until the space had become a desert.
Despite the existence of dense fogs and flames, she does not experience any discomfort or a feeling of urgency that would prompt her to flee and seek refuge elsewhere in the world.
"You are here..." she murmured as soon as she saw the hole in the sky, and it was immediately apparent to her that the shadow that emerged from it belonged to one of her relatives.
“Snaedis…”
The goddess's face jolted her awake to the realization that she had been her original self all along. She was a reborn creature that had been born as Sophia Codache, but she was completely unaware of her previous human life. "It's great to see that the goddess of water can throw fire," she commented, still unconscious while using herself.
Snaedis emerged in the sky above the city. Her physical appearance grew more distinct and distinct from the human reincarnation Sara she had been. Sophia was taken aback by the yellowish, dirty white outfit Snaedis was wearing, as well as the glistening golden flowers that were floating about her. Hanaele even complimented her on her ability to throw not just water, but also the power of the earth, prosperity, and fire, as well as other elements. As a result of Hanaele's push away from Cassius, Cassius began to progressively fade away from his whole body. As he glanced down, tears began to stream down his cheeks from his eyes.
“Hanaele! Please don't forget about me..." he raised his voice as loud as he could, hoping that Hanaele would hear him out. It was with great anticipation that he extended his arms in the expectation that Hanaele would come back and grasp his arms to pull him away from the flames. he was well aware that as soon as a mortal comes into touch with an Ae, the mortal would be rescued from the ensuing tragedy.
He, on the other hand, is completely oblivious that Hanaele has had the same reaction as Sophia since he is preoccupied with his own thoughts. She herself is completely unconscious of what is taking place, but she is fully aware of the events that have taken place. As they looked up at Snaedis, all of the Aes on the face of the world lost sight of their goddess and god identities, which they had already forgotten about. Following the realization that Hanaele had just vanished without even bothering to look back at him, Cassius' chest began to tighten.
"Hanaele..." he spoke again, this time in hushed tones so that only he could hear her name. He screamed in agony as he slowly lowered his arms and looked down at his foot, which was slowly releasing fire and caused him to scream.
He took a glance about him and saw that all of his pals were slowly fading away. "Larch... Cherish... Flora..." He is unable to do anything except stare at them in agony as they scream for aid.
He looked at Hanaele's shadow from a distance for the final time before his body completely vanished into ashes and evaporated. He knew it was the last time.
