Epilogue
A panic gripped the whole metropolis, spanning all planets in the other dimension, after the unexpected growth of enormous yellow flowers surrounding them, which emitted a disagreeable and potentially lethal stench that caused people who inhaled it to perish. The odor may be found in all cities, including the provinces and other adjacent towns, as well as in the countryside. Infants were sobbing, and their moms were doing all they could to rescue their children. People scurried away from the scene, seeking refuge in the surrounding buildings and infrastructures.
Others who were unfortunate enough to be the first ones in were denied the chance to knock on the glass doors, appealing with others who had already inside to please open the doors for them. There was nothing they could do except keep hammering on the glass doors, appealing with everyone who came in to open the doors for them.
"Would you kindly open the door for us? Those yellow ashes are on their way in this direction!"
"Can you tell us why you closed this door for us?!"
"Please assist us!"
The occurrences could not be explained by any of the scientists in the department. Hisha Go and her staff, with the assistance of Steeven and the CEO, were unable to notice the disarray and give an immediate solution to the problem. No matter how high-tech their devices were, they were unable to function. People within the building started to worry despite their typical practice of keeping calm yet attentive when they all locked the doors and other escape routes in the building, including the windows, but the ashes still managed to find their way inside the building.
"The ashes, smoke, or whatever you want to call it, that penetrates any building by penetrating the slightest opening they can find!" the maintenance crew said frantically.
Hisha Go made a shaky motion with her head. Her eyes widened in surprise, and her body seemed to stiffen as a result. “Oh, no...” she moaned, stepping back as the smoke began to slowly seep inside the building. The whole gang did the same thing, leaving them completely helpless, particularly considering that almost every portion of the entry had been compromised.
Wake was running through the streets in search of Sara, and he was utilizing his automobile to get there. After accidently hitting an elderly woman while driving, he came to a complete stop. However, upon seeing that the woman had died, he did not bother dropping down to check what had happened. He just resumed driving without stopping. As soon as he arrived and got out of the vehicle, he took off running, utterly disregarding the people he came into touch with along the way.
In the facility, he went via the back entrance and proceeded to enter the laboratory, where Sara had been kept captive for many days after he had kidnapped her and taken her away from her mother. He then departed the building via the main entrance. At the time of his arrival though, all he could see were yellow branches sprouting upwards towards the sky, which had created a gigantic, enormous hole in the centre of all of the structures.
He came to a complete stop and was taken aback by what he saw, particularly since the branches were dripping with gold and other valuable materials. With a look of complete disbelief on his face within his head, he commented, "This is impossible..."
But it was the knowledge that there were no signs of ashes or smokes that circulated among the branches that drew his attention the most. As a result, he was perplexed as to where the poisonous smoke was coming from. However, he also hypothesized that there was no other possible explanation for where it came from in the first place. There was no doubt that the smoke emanated from this monster, but why did it not contain any hazardous substances in this place was a mystery.
He took a few steps forward and aimed his index finger towards the tree trunk, as if he were trying to touch it with it. "I don't believe it is detrimental for me to do this, I assume," he reasoned with himself, questioning his choice as a result of the intense interest that had risen inside him.
When he finally did, he sighed a sigh of relief, knowing that he had not been injured as a result of the incident. He bent his head and cast a downward stare, demonstrating his sense of gravity in this world. In an instant, when he returned his sight to the tree, golden yellow branches sprouted and clung to his skin, causing his mouth to gape open in surprise. It wasn't until he started wiggling that he realized he couldn't move his body! He'd been attempting to flee and remove the branches that were holding him prisoner, but it had already been too late to save himself.
In spite of the fact that he was well aware that no one was accessible or even alive at the time, he cried, pleading for assistance still. Using a knife, he attempted to cut away the branches that were slowly dragging him into the aperture of the trunk, but it was completely ineffective, and he had to retreat. The branches don't come off as readily as you would think, no matter how thin they are!
It seemed as if recollections from his past had surfaced all of a sudden in his mind's eye. He remembered the face of the elderly guy he had seen on the dark streets earlier, as well as the blood-stained cement pathways. After all of a sudden, he became terrified and refused to utilize his might to struggle against the branches, instead opting to just let his body to be consumed by the trunk.
His surroundings became cloudier as he approached the trunk, and he became increasingly certain that the laboratory was no longer there. Then he saw a familiar lady standing in front of him.
It was the old lady he had come across earlier in the day who he had just ignored. Afterwards, the visage transformed into that of the goddess Sanedis, who closed her eyes till Wake became peaceful, recognizing her as an adult version of Sara.
“S-Sara? Is that you, sir? Y-You are indeed beautiful. Y-You seem to look to much mature now..."
