Chapter 21: The Billionaire's Son

Chapter 21: The Billionaire's Son
The cozy ambiance of the café enveloped Meriah and Alexander as they sat across from each other, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingling with the soft murmur of conversation in the background. Yet, despite the warm surroundings, an unspoken tension hung in the air, palpable in the way Alexander's gaze flitted nervously around the room.
Meriah watched him with concern, her fingers drumming lightly against the ceramic surface of her coffee cup. "Is everything okay?" she asked, her voice soft with worry as she reached out to touch his hand.
Alexander's gaze snapped back to hers, his expression conflicted as he wrestled with his thoughts.
"There's something I need to tell you," he began, his voice low and tinged with uncertainty.
Meriah's heart skipped a beat, her pulse quickening with anticipation. She could sense the weight of his words before he even spoke them, a knot of apprehension tightening in her stomach.
"What is it?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Taking a deep breath, Alexander reached across the table and took Meriah's hands in his own, his touch warm and reassuring.
"I'm not who you think I am," he confessed, his voice trembling with emotion. "My name is not Francis. It's actually... Alexander."
Meriah's eyes widened in surprise, her mind reeling with the revelation. She searched his eyes for any hint of deceit, but all she found was raw vulnerability and a deep well of regret. "Alexander?" she repeated, her voice barely a whisper as she processed the information.
Alexander nodded, his gaze dropping to the table as he struggled to find the right words.
"I wanted to tell you sooner, I really did," he confessed, his voice filled with remorse. "But I was afraid. Afraid of how you would react, of what you would think of me."
Meriah's heart ached at the pain in his voice, her fingers tightening around his in a silent gesture of support. "You don't have to be afraid with me," she whispered, her voice filled with love and understanding. "I love you, Alexander. Whoever you are, whatever you've done, it doesn't change how I feel about you."
Tears welled in Alexander's eyes as he met Meriah's gaze, his walls crumbling in the face of her unwavering acceptance. "I love you too," he confessed, his voice barely a whisper as he leaned in closer to her. "More than you'll ever know."
And in that moment, as they sat together in the quiet embrace of the café, Meriah knew that their love was stronger than any secret or obstacle that stood in their way. They had weathered the storm together, and nothing could ever break the bond that held them together, united in their commitment to each other and their shared passion for gaming.
The evening sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the city streets as Meriah walked hand in hand with Francis, their footsteps echoing against the pavement. They meandered through the bustling crowds, lost in their own world as they laughed and talked, their voices mingling with the sounds of the city.
As they turned a corner, Meriah's heart skipped a beat at the sight of a small park bathed in the soft light of twilight. It was one of their favorite spots, a hidden gem nestled amidst the chaos of the city, and she couldn't help but smile at the memories it held.
"Shall we take a detour?" Francis asked, his eyes twinkling with mischief as he gestured towards the park.
Meriah nodded eagerly, her curiosity piqued. "Lead the way," she said, her voice tinged with excitement as they made their way towards the park.
As they entered the park, Meriah's eyes widened in surprise at the sight before her. A blanket was spread out on the grass, surrounded by flickering candles and a scattering of rose petals. In the center of it all sat Francis, a guitar cradled in his arms and a smile playing at the corners of his lips.
"What's all this?" Meriah asked, her heart fluttering with anticipation as she sank down beside him on the blanket.
Francis grinned back at her, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "A surprise," he replied, his voice filled with warmth. "Close your eyes and listen."
Meriah obeyed, closing her eyes and letting the sounds of the evening wash over her. And then, she heard it: the gentle strumming of a guitar, the melody weaving its way through the air like a whisper on the wind.
As Francis began to sing, Meriah's heart swelled with emotion. His voice was like honey, sweet and melodious, as he poured his heart out in song. It was her favorite song, a tune that held a special place in her heart, and she couldn't help but be swept away by the beauty of it all.
With each word, Francis bared his soul, his voice carrying their love and devotion through the night air. And as the final notes faded into silence, Meriah opened her eyes to find tears glistening in her eyes.
"That was beautiful," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion as she reached out to take his hand in hers.
Francis smiled back at her, his eyes shining with love. "For you, always," he replied, his voice soft with sincerity as he leaned in to brush a gentle kiss against her lips.
And as they sat together in the quiet of the park, surrounded by candlelight and the soft rustle of leaves, Meriah knew that this moment would stay with her forever. It was a testament to their love, a serenade that echoed the depths of their hearts and bound them together in a melody of love and devotion.
The soft glow of the computer screen illuminated Meriah's face as she settled into her gaming chair, the familiar hum of her equipment filling the room. Beside her, Francis adjusted his headset, his eyes gleaming with anticipation as they prepared to start their latest live stream.
"Alright, everyone," Meriah announced to her viewers, her voice bright and cheerful. "Welcome back to another exciting gaming session with yours truly and my trusty sidekick, Francis!"
The chat exploded with a flurry of emojis and greetings, the names of familiar viewers flashing across the screen in a blur of color. Meriah smiled as she read through the messages, feeling a surge of excitement at the prospect of another fun-filled stream.
But as they dove into the game, Meriah couldn't shake the feeling that something was different. The chat seemed to be moving faster than usual, a constant stream of messages flooding the screen with alarming speed.
"What's going on?" Francis asked, his brows furrowing in confusion as he glanced at the chat. "I can barely keep up with all these messages!"
Meriah chuckled, her fingers flying over the keyboard as she tried to respond to as many messages as she could. "Looks like we've got a lively crowd tonight," she replied, her voice tinged with amusement. "Let's see if we can keep up with them while we kick some virtual butt!"
But as they delved deeper into the game, the chat took on a life of its own. Memes and jokes flooded the screen at breakneck speed, prompting bursts of laughter from Meriah and Francis as they struggled to keep up with the chaos.
"Whoa, slow down!" Meriah exclaimed, her fingers moving frantically over the keyboard as she tried to reign in the madness. "I can't see what I'm doing with all these funny memes!"
Francis grinned back at her, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Looks like we've got a Twitch chat troll on our hands," he said, his voice laced with humor. "But hey, at least they've got good taste in memes!"
And so, they pressed on, navigating the game with a mixture of skill and laughter as they battled against both virtual foes and the mischievous antics of their Twitch chat. It was a chaotic whirlwind of fun and excitement, a testament to the power of gaming to bring people together in laughter and camaraderie. And as the stream drew to a close, Meriah couldn't help but feel grateful for the lively community that had gathered around them, united in their love for gaming and the joy of shared laughter.
