Adrian woke up in a cold sweat. The wooden bullet was no longer in his head. He felt his head, there was no hole anymore. It had healed. He had a sickening headache, as the effect of the hibiscus oil had not yet worn off. He suddenly stopped rubbing his head and looked around. He was in his room, back home, back in mystic world. What happened? why was he back here? Had he been dreaming all this while? was this some kind of bad dream? Where was jayda? Jayda... the mere thought of her made him open his wide in realization. How long has he been passed out for? He remembered then, it was Jordan. He was sure that he had seen his face. He was pretty sure it was him who had shot him. He swore that he was going to kill him if anything happened to Jayda. Thinking about her made him jump out of his bed quickly and throw on his shirt as he made to leave the room in search of her. He was visibly shaken and scared for her, he could hear his heart beating hard against his rib cage. He wished and earnestly prayed that she was safe. He opened the door and came to an abrupt stop when he saw the guards standing outside his door. That was so weird and out of the blue. He had never needed or even wanted to be guarded. He could pretty much take care of himself. Anyways, that was not his problem at the moment. Jayda was his utmost priority. As he made to pass them they blocked him with their swords, making an 'x' sign. He looked at them quizzically and surprised. what was going on? They must have forgotten that he was still the prince. He pushed the swords out of his way and walked through. They grabbed him by his arms but he was quicker. He moved his arms out of their reach as he turned and quickly gave one of the guards an uppercut and kicked the other one with his feet. They both went crashing down on the ground. The sound of their fall and armor attracted other guards and they left their posts and made their way to him. Some were coming from the left, some from the right, and as he tried to run down the stairs, he saw that there was already an army making their way up to him. He was trapped but he was not backing down. He could take them, he was the vampire prince after all. They all charged towards him with their swords and spears while he fought back with his hands and fangs. He put up a good fight, but he was still one man alone. They overpowered him in the end after he had been cut and stabbed in many places. They grabbed him by the arms pulling him along as he was too weak to walk on his own. They took him to his father's palace and dropped him on the ground. He took his time to recover and slowly he stood on his feet to face his father seated on his throne of skulls. His father's angry face was all he needed to see to know that he was in real trouble. He knew his father did not tolerate failure, let alone from him. Did Jordan already tell him everything? His father could look really scary sometimes and this was definitely one of those moments. The way he was staring at him with eyes hard as granite and barely concealing his disgust. He looked from his father's face to Jordan's snickering sneering face. He had never hated his brother but if anything ever happened to Jayda he would never forgive him like he had always done before. He watched as his father slowly got up from his throne and slowly made his way to him. He stopped directly in front of him. They looked each other in the eye for quite some time. Xavier raised his hand and smacked the unsuspecting Adrian in his face. There was so much force and emotion attached to the blow that Adrian staggered and half fell before he caught himself mid way. He coughed and stood straight, his lower lip bursted and bleeding a little. ' i did not raise you to be a traitor' his father said. ' you jeopardized the trust i gave you. You jeopardized the safety of this kingdom, of your people, of my people' ' i will make it right. You will make it right. Get the girl' he said to a guard. Adrian controlled himself, he could not act out in front of his father. ' i was wrong, i apologize. I was just distracted for a minute. i just wanted to you know...... have a little fun before i finished the job' he tried explaining. ' well your fun has come to an end and i am going to give you a chance to redeem yourself' his father said. Adrian knew his father was full of surprises. Was he going to ask him to kill Jayda? His pulse increased as he imagined every worst scenario possible. He knew his father was setting him up and he could not do anything about it. Jayda was brought in and mercilessly thrown to the ground some few feet away from Adrian stood. She looked disheveled but still beautiful. She looked around the room, terrified. She looked at Adrian silently begging for his help with her eyes. Adrian quickly looked up as he felt the hot eyes start forming in his eyes. ' so Adrian what do you have to say concerning her?' his father asked, looking at him intently. 'You can kill her. She means nothing to me' Adrian said. Jayda looked at him wide eyed. The betraying bastard she thought. She had always had the nagging feeling that he was going to give her up at the slightest chance. She turned her head to look him in the eye. No she was not going to cry in his presence. She was going to show him that she could survive without him. 'If she means nothing to you, how about i keep her. I have been searching for a new pet' his brother Jordan said while looking at Jayda like he wanted to devour her. 'You can have her if you want ' Adrian said without breaking the eye contact battle he was having with Jayda. Jayda suddenly started seeing flashes of their intense lovemaking the day before ,she could hear the ripping sound her dress made when he tore it off her. She cringed inwardly not believing that she had given up her body and soul to this ravaging vampire who was trying to betray her and give her up for his kingdom and clan. She knew she would regret it. She knew nothing good would come from falling for a vampire. She had often read about vampires in books and seen them in movies but she could not believe that she would ever meet one let alone fall for him. She should never have taken him in that day. She should never have taken pity on him or even nursed his wounds. It was all her fault. Now she was going to die mercilessly at his hands.
