CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE

As Ava was about to come out of the clubhouse, she bumped into Mitchie who stood right in front of her. They both stared hard at each other.
“Don’t tell me you’re playing a game with my life, I thought you had forgiven me, I thought you were not seeking for my life anymore but you disobeyed even your blood brother, who begged you on my behalf even though till now I don’t know the cause of the rivalry between the both of us” Mitchie spoke from the depths of her, almost sobbing, Ava could not say anything not even a word, she was just staring at Mitchie, dumbfounded. Knowing now that she’s been exposed already, Mitchie played her a trick to know if she was actually behind the scenario that happened recent.
As this went on outside, Watson who was in the clubhouse with Rome stood up never to leave, Romeo was expecting Watson to leave but it was the other way.
“I think you’ll confess with this”. Watson tucked out his pistol and pointed it at Romeo, he pulled the trigger ready to shoot.
Romeo surrendered with his two hands up in the air.
“Wait, Wait I’ll confess”. Romeo stood up, but Watson never had the idea of what Romeo was up to. Romeo back-flipped, kicking the pistol off Watson’s hands and a fierce fight began.
Mitchie came into the clubhouse and saw people gathering around so, she ran there only to find Watson was in a fierce fight with Romeo.
“Stop the fight, this guy is dangerous”. Mitchie yelled but it fell on deaf ears. “I think I will have to call 911”. Mitchie brought out her cellphone from her silver purse and called the police.
Everyone there stood watching, no one was making any attempt to have them probably separated only to cause more trouble as a gang came out joining Romeo, they overpowered Watson, beating him to a stupor before the police came.
Suddenly everywhere was quiet except for the siren of the police vehicles and nothing more. No one was inside the clubhouse again except Mitchie who squat beside poor Watson who lay helplessly on the floor, bleeding profusely. The police squad immediately took charge, called the ambulance that arrived in a jiffy, and two paramedics with short-cropped hairs came down to help Watson into the ambulance.
Mitchie was sad, just because of her, Watson almost lost his life, she wouldn’t have loved to involve the police about her issues but it was about her staying in the jail forever if the case was taken up. Mitchie got home at exactly 3:00 am, and entered the house, everyone was asleep already so she just had to go into her room quietly and dived onto her bed.
***
“Georgia, I called you here because of this crucial case in which a lot of lives were wasted. Though Watson had tried all his possible best on the case it wasn’t enough as he almost his life. The case is now very straightforward, the criminal who wrestled with Watson should be caught and firstly charged before interrogation, is that clear?” Gen Dan Philips asked.
“Yes, I’ll need the case file” Georgia O’carloran requested. She was also a detective, a prominent one with outstanding records.
“Get it from the secretary”.
“Okay, sir”.
Georgia left the office and collected the file, breezed to her own office, and sat on her swivel chair flickering through the papers, she stopped at a point, staring at a familiar picture. She flashed back to two years ago, she was still in school, studying. So it was a summer break given to school students. A day before the break, boarding students began with parking their books and luggage, feeling happy to be going home the next day.
At night, most students were too excited to sleep, including Georgia herself, her roommate Kate also couldn’t sleep, so they told themselves beautiful experiences. And after a long time, they fell asleep. It was the chiming of the bell that got them to spring to their feet, take their bathe, and get ready to meet with their parents after they had their rooms tidied up and had taken their breakfast of sandwiches and a cup of coffee.
Noon mid-day, Kate’s parents came around to pick Kate up, she waved at Georgia Before she left with her parent. Even at 6:30 pm, Georgia’s parents were yet to come over to pick her up. She became bored and nervous, though she wasn’t the only one in the school she wasn’t used to going home late, so she couldn’t flow with them a. she sat in the class block when she saw a familiar car driving into the school. The car came nearer, to a clearer view, it was her parent, she smiled when she saw both dad and mum.
“Sorry dearie, I wanted your dad to come along with me to pick you up and we both had a tight schedule”. Sharon, Georgia’s mum explained to her daughter whom she guessed must have been disturbed.
“Apology accepted mum, it’s good to see you both again, although I was bored and scared that probably something had happened”.
“Not at all dearie, your mum had just said it all, she wanted me to follow her down here and you know my job is a very tedious one”.
“I guessed mum knew what I loved so much seeing you both together, I was so excited to see dad again after a long time. You wouldn’t come to visit and wouldn’t want to come to pick again, no that won’t happen”. Georgia giggled.
“My dear am happy to see you again because I don’t know when I’ll be back from the presidential conference am going to this weekend”. Lawrence, Georgia’s father explained further. Georgia wasn’t happy with that but there was nothing she could do because her dad was one of the pillars of politics in the United States.
They were a very happy family, chatting and laughing and giggling, munching hamburgers. Just suddenly, a man dashed into the road and Lawrence drove the car to a halt, almost taking the man off the road. The man still stood on the road with his face covered with the hoodie he wore so they couldn’t get a good picture of his face although Georgia could recognize him. He raised his hand and with it, he was holding a desert Eagle and shot Lawrence.
Before Sharon could do anything, the criminal was gone. It was that same criminal that killed her father she was to get hold of. Tears trickled down her cheek as she stared at the picture remembering her father. Georgia heard some hard knocks on her office door, she quickly got out a white handkerchief and used it for her face, dabbing the tears away.
The door opened slightly and a young low rank police lady came in with some files and have them dropped on Georgia’s table. She studied Georgia was dull, she wasn’t in a good mood, unusual of her.
“Is anything the problem?” the police lady asked.
“Nothing am fine…”
