CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT

“Hey, girls come around and check this out” Mitchie called on the girls who were busy with house chores. Lily hold on to clean the kitchen while Rose made up her mind to arrange the entire house, the rooms, cleaning them with a vacuum cleaner, laying the beds, arranging the clothes littered everywhere to the appropriate place and sorting and Angelina took up the washing of the dirty clothes in the laundry, supervising the washing machine and makes sure it is washed clean. Rose had always given Angelina tough times, she always use to have a lot of dirty clothes in the laundry basket making life difficult for Angelina. She had yelled at Rose severally but she wouldn’t just for once listen.
“I think Rose will have to begin the washing supervision of her clothes herself” Angelina muttered to herself as she left to meet Mitchie.
Mitchie was in the living room, she had on herself a mini gown of many colors and a net cap. She sat on the sofa with her legs crossed against each other on the entry table. Her gaze was on the screen of her phone. The ladies would have been thinking of million reasons for her calling them.
“Okay,” Mitchie began as she diverted her stare to the girls who were with her in the living room. “So it’s a new show that we have been invited to and I am very sure you would all love to participate”.
“Who is hosting the music show, a musician or a company or something,” Angelina asked, she always had an interest in a show that had those she took as top-notch.
“Trelly is the chief host, and I guess you all like the young star, am I right?”
“Sure, can’t wait to see Trelly” Rose looked as if she was obsessed.
“Mitchie, I hope to be a chief host someday just like you and other music stars,” Lily said.
“Same in my case” Angelina cut in.
“Hum! Am not left out” Rose quickly took her place before she was forgotten.
Mitchie smiled and said, “It’s good to hope for the best in the future, but the main thing to fulfill that which you have planned is striving to fulfill such a dream”.
“Can you tell us how you began in the music industry, we would like to know how you started, the story of your life” Lily asked, her expression showing that she had this prayer of Mitchie to answer their request.
“Oh dearies, I have always been looking for a time like this, so you can know that the journey to greatness is not an easy one”.
“Oh really, I guess that’s right, although I thought that you just wish to do something and it comes to pass,” Angelina said.
“No, for your wishes to come true you have to make them real, that still takes us back to striving. So ladies this is my story…..
THE STORY OF MY LIFE
MITCHIE…
My family was one in which the parents have different perspectives about life. Everything about them is a different thing. My dad was the one that was a musician and my mum a doctor. I have a younger brother, Frank, a redhead, tall and fair-complexioned. He loves music just like I had loved it which I guess we took after our dad. He plays the guitar so well that I could call him a virtuoso guitarist while I played the guitar.
Dad always took us out whenever he had a show or a music competition, that was when I began to fall in love with music and became so engrossed in it that every other job became irritating to me. Before the incident of I and my mother being kidnapped, I had told my dad about my aspiration of becoming a musician, he never went against it but after the kidnapped, he called one day, advising me to watch out for another occupation. He told me that there were a lot of dirty things in the music industry, and he discouraged me making me feel as if I would just suffocate to death if I join the music industry.

But for him not to have been dead I could also be great without being harmed. Frank on the other hand would like to become a doctor just like my mum and no one had anything ulterior about it except for my ambition. Mum tried her best to discourage me, but I never listened rather I devoted more time to studying more about the music industry. It was truly dangerous full of jealousy and hatred, malice, and even hard drugs were traded by most of the musicians, but I can be different, I can be distinguished among them was always my watchword which kept me on.
One day I was at home, dad had gone out and mum also had gone to her workplace while my younger brother Frank rode his bicycle with other friends claiming to be going on an adventure in a nearby forest. House was boring and quite unfriendly, with no channels to watch interesting movies, then I found myself composing a tune and afterward I began to put lyrics down. I made the lyrics to be about adventure when I at first had no lyrics right in my brain. I breezed to the keyboard and played to it. So cool that I wished Frank could come as early as possible so we could have perfect practice and present it to dad and mum when they come.
Frank came back, pushing the door open and announcing his arrival by yelling out. He could be so annoying sometimes but he was just an interesting guy.
“So Frank I just composed a song and I will love you to play to it if you won’t mind”.
“Okay, I will be back”. He said as he pulled his way to his room after some time, he came out with his guitar, learned the song, and played it beautifully.
So I and Frank played together, althatatt first it sounded weird as we practiced it became perfect. So when Dad and Mum came, we played for them and their comment showed that they enjoyed it.
“What’s the title of the song?” Angelina asked.
“The Adventure”
I still have the song in my diary which I will bring out for you to see, so when it was time for me to be enrolled in high school, my dad insisted that I would go to a science school. but I was very surprised to see my mum advising my dad to allow me to have my way and to be a very bright future, try it and we’ll not regret it” My mum told my dad.
He didn’t give any response to that for like three days, and I guessed that he was thinking of the good side and also the bad side of both medicine and music for me. On the fourth day, he called me and my brother from our room to meet him in the sitting room. Whenever my dad has any important thing to tell us that’s when he calls a meeting. Dad called us thavhavecdiscussawith no aandandprise it centered on my enrollment in a music high school. He addressed my brother and me telling us about his decision on both of us. I was very happy upon hearing about it and decided to reach my goal come what may. I was given three choices but I preferred Louisville High School. I wrote the examination and came out with flying colors. My dad was surprised at my performance. He never believed I could get such a grade. He became active and more supportive.
When I was to resume Louisville which was a boarding school, he drove me down there. When my dad dropped me right in front of the hostel, I smiled, feeling that I would finally fulfill my dream. I turned back to take my luggage inside the room I was given in the hostel but I saw a girl taller than me. I guessed her to be one of the seniors in the school. I greeted her and she responded meekly before any further discussion, she helped me with my luggage.
On getting to the room, I found out that I had two roommates. They were one-year seniors but they welcomed me warmly. The girl who helped me with my bags dropped them and was about to go when I asked her name and class. She called herself Joyce Greene and was a finalist. She further emphasized that if I needed anything I should feel free to always meet her.
I had a friend whose life seemed hard too. Things happened day by day it seemed he was the only one experiencing it because he told his parents but they wouldn’t believe it. He told me about one of his experiences. A night after dinner, and dessert for the night, he went to sleep. His mom came around and covered his body with a blanket she bought for him during his birthday after which she switched off the light. Evans told me that he was the only one that sleeps in the room, his other siblings had their rooms. So after a few minutes of sleep, he had a nightmare that he was standing beside a very deep hole that seemed endless.
He narrated that he tried to see what the hole contained but an old woman in a long black robe with a hoodie pushed him inside the hole and he woke up. He could not cry, and neither could he shout, but everywhere was dark. He sat on his bed but then he began to see strange hands who came from the room wall aiming at him. He became scared when the clock and k the pictures that he hunshookng. He shouted and immediately he heard footsteps walking fast towards his door, it was his parent, they put on the light asking him the reason for his scream. Evans explained but they never believed until his younger brother got stabbed and till now they do know not the person who did it. Evans saw the spirit, the same woman whom he saw in his dream.

He told me that the day he went crippled was when the old woman appeared to him while climbing the stairs, but upon seeing her, he went crippled after he fell down the stairs. His dad later realized that the house was haunted. He searched for the person who sold the house to him but the shocking news was that he had relocated to the United States….
