chapter 13
THE PLAN
Leaving the room meant for Queen Anabella was a decision filled with a mix of emotions. It was both amusing and ironic that the lady whom I greatly admired was suddenly getting on my nerves. The world works in mysterious ways indeed. I found myself at a loss, unsure of where to go or whom to approach for accommodation in their room.
Venturing into the ladies' apartment seemed out of the question, as it would be crowded with so many of them. I briefly considered reaching out to Zee and Miriam for help, but the way I had brushed off Miriam earlier lingered in my mind. After much internal deliberation, I realized it was necessary to swallow my pride and make amends with her. Their assistance was crucial to my current predicament.
Making my way to their apartment, I was relieved to find that most of the ladies were still outside enjoying themselves. Upon spotting me, they rose to greet me, but I gestured for them to continue their activities.
As luck would have it, I spotted Miriam and Zee together. I couldn't help but wonder when they had become friends. Approaching them, I noticed Miriam preparing to leave upon seeing me. Immediately, I offered a sincere apology, expressing regret for my earlier behavior towards her. Graciously, she accepted my apology, and I explained my need for a private conversation with them, to which they obliged.
We strolled out towards the pool, and the calming presence of water seemed to spark intelligent conversations. Everything seemed to flow smoothly until Zee posed a direct question that caught me off guard.
"Where was Queen Anabella yesterday?" she inquired.
My heart raced in anticipation as I realized the moment to come clean had arrived. With Miriam scrutinizing me intently, I mustered the courage to be truthful.
"I was in my room," I admitted. The atmosphere grew heavy with the weight of my confession. "I have so much to say," I began, breaking the silence that enveloped us. "Zee, I am truly sorry for the betrayal. It was never my intention," I pleaded. Their eyes urged me to continue.
Miriam, with a calm yet firm voice, emphasized the importance of knowing the whole truth to determine how they could offer their support. With a deep breath, I revealed the truth that weighed heavily on my heart: "Queen Anabella is pregnant with my child." Their shocked expressions mirrored my own inner turmoil.
I recounted how the situation unfolded, detailing Queen Anabella's manipulative tactics and threats of false accusations. Tears threatened to spill as I expressed my lack of desire for an abortion or to raise the child. "All she wants is the child," I confessed, the vulnerability in my voice palpable. "I'm sorry for the disappointment, Zee. Please forgive me," I implored, my voice quivering with emotion.
Instead of condemnation, I found understanding in their eyes. Amidst my fear of judgment, they offered solace and reassured me that I should not bear the burden alone. Miriam cautioned me about Queen Anabella's manipulative tendencies and issued a warning regarding Ramash, urging caution in my interactions with him.
Recounting my desperate attempts to seek forgiveness from Ramash, only to be met with rejection, I sought advice on how to navigate the uncertain grounds that lay before me. Their guidance and support provided a glimmer of hope in the midst of my turmoil.
As the weight of my predicament pressed down on me, I expressed my desire to leave the oppressive environment that had become unbearable. Their concern for my well-being prompted a question - did I truly wish to depart? Nodding in confirmation, I disclosed my growing discomfort, seeking a way out of the suffocating circumstances that surrounded me.Miriam's words sent chills down my spine as she warned me of the challenge that lay ahead. I dared not underestimate the risk we were about to take.
Miriam, my loyal companion from the rough streets, had never let me down in the face of adversity. Her strategic mind and analytical skills were always at my disposal, giving me the hope of a successful outcome.
The mention of numerous CCTV cameras lurking around only added to the complexity of the situation. It seemed like a near-impossible task we were about to embark on.
I placed my utmost trust in Miriam's judgment and abilities, knowing that she would not lead us astray. Her critical thinking skills were an invaluable asset in times like this.
The weight of my secret was lifted off my shoulders as Miriam and Zee joined me in finding a solution. Their willingness to help and provide a listening ear was a welcome relief in this time of turmoil.
As we sat down to share our life stories, I learned that Zee was an orphan, adding another layer of hardship to her already precarious situation. It was a heartbreaking revelation that made me cherish my own family even more.
Upon parting ways for the night, we made a pact to keep our escape plan a secret. The bond we formed that evening was one of trust and solidarity, knowing that we were allies in a risky endeavor.
Returning to my room, a sense of elation washed over me, knowing that I had friends who had my back in times of need. The comfort of companionship was a rare gift in a world filled with uncertainty.
As I entered my room, Anabella's accusing gaze met mine. Her words of reproach stung, but I knew that my focus needed to be on our plan of escape. The task ahead required my full attention, even at the expense of her frustration.
As I lay down to rest, the weight of the impending challenge weighed heavily on my mind. The road ahead was fraught with danger, but with Miriam and Zee by my side, I knew we could face whatever obstacles came our way.I found it quite amusing that someone would try to blackmail me with a baby I have never even seen before. Rather than getting angry, I couldn't help but burst out laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation. I could see the confusion in her eyes as to why I reacted that way.
After the strange encounter, I climbed over to the other side of the bed and sleep quickly overtook me. Thankfully, she let me rest undisturbed.
When I woke up, Anabella surprised me by waking me with a kiss. It was the first genuine romantic gesture we had shared without any force or command, and I could see the happiness in her eyes. I got up and headed to the bathroom to freshen up for the day ahead.
Before leaving for work, I sat down to eat my meal. Anabella insisted that I not leave the house on an empty stomach, showing her care and concern for me.
Upon arriving at work and greeting everyone in the dimly lit room, I noticed Ramash's gaze on me, but I no longer cared about his judgment. I had resolved to stand up for myself if he tried anything against me.
Throughout the day, my work went smoothly, and my colleague Reddy continuously praised and appreciated my courage despite my being a newbie. I could feel the eyes of my coworkers on me, whispering unsaid words of jealousy. But I knew that anyone could achieve the same success if they put in the effort to shine.
As the day drew to a close, Reddy announced that there would be a meeting. I felt a twinge of anxiety, wondering what it could be about. I hoped it wasn't related to the discussion I had had with Miriam and Zee the day before, or worse, regarding Anabella's pregnancy. I tried to push aside my worries and remain composed.
When we gathered in the conference room for the meeting, I noticed Anabella's absence. The discussion revolved around my dedication and skills, and I felt grateful for the recognition. After the meeting, Reddy entrusted me with the key to the CCTV camera, indicating that I had advanced from the task of butchering humans. I was relieved and grateful for the opportunity to stop spilling blood.
The realization that my escape plan was progressing smoothly filled me with joy and anticipation. Despite the challenges I faced, I knew that I was one step closer to freedom. The road ahead may be tough, but I was determined to see it through.Download Novelah App
