Mira's POV " Do not use your Chemorian powers in the open unless it is a life or death situation. " Their collective warning kept ringing in my head as I fought with myself, unable to make a decision. Was the situation dire? I would surely die if I kept drowning for an hour. I did not know how to swim. And that crazy b*tch had just shoved me in a pool beside the garden. I had walked out of the hall because her gibberish was getting on my nerves. Apparently that was me trying to act c*. " Mira! " I heard a voice as I kept struggling to stay afloat. " Mira!" I was certain that I knew that voice yet I could not quite recognize the person. There was a crowd building around the pool. Their shock didn't allow me to focus on the voice that was approaching me. Before long I saw someone finally jump in the pool and steadily swim towards me. " Mira! " He gasped as he slid his back under me, finally allowing my nostrils to take in some much required air. I clung onto him for dear life as he kept asking me if I was alright. There were others extending their hands at the moment, willing to help me up. But he did not let anybody touch me. He turned me around and carried me in his arms like a baby. This allowed me to lay my eyes on him for the first time. A brilliant, bright light immediately struck my memory. A light that almost felt like the sun. I definitely knew him, knew that face. He laid me down on the ground, stretched my limbs and began to press my chest with his hands. He counted as the water trapped inside my lungs started to come out with every thrust. " Kian, my dear boy! You are back! These eyes thought that they would never see you... " His ear was pressed on my chest, trying to listen to my heart as an old man's voice divided his attention. There was a lot going on in the background. Guards were running here and there along with other guests and employees. Someone was calling for the manager while someone was asking the management to call the police. " Huh? You want to call the police on me? You have no idea what she is, do you? I have a better idea. Why don't I call the people who will take care of her, instead? " Betty pulled her phone out and was on her way to dial a number. But before she could even make the call, the old man who had divided Kian's attention, grabbed the phone and threw it in the water. " What did you do!!!! " Her shriek made my ears come back to life. All that drowsiness that the drowning had caused, disappeared completely. But the show was not over yet. " You spoiled brat! " The old man dealt a hard blow across her face as she tried to screech in his face. " I should have listened to Kian earlier. You are nothing but a piece of trash. Your parents should be ashamed of you. I am going to make sure they deal with you in a befitting manner. " His voice was steady but stern. " Are you feeling alright? " Kian reclaimed my attention as he turned my face towards him with his hand. I nodded. The next moment, he was hugging me in front of everyone. But it did not end there. He started crying. And then he began kissing me all over, adding layers to my confusion. " You have no idea how I have been living. I hated everything around me, Mira. Nothing made sense when you were gone. Thanks heavens, you are back. Thanks heavens, you are alive. I thought I had lost you forever. " Dead who? Me? Why was it thought to be dead by people who knew me? Suddenly Betty started to clap and laugh. " She will be dead this time, for sure. And I don't care about you anymore, Kian. They already received my text. They will be here any moment. You are not human. You don't belong on this planet. You are abominations. " She kept yelling and screaming while taking her steps back. " GrandPa! Let her go. We need to get Mira out of here. Come with me.The Watchers might come here any moment." Kian called the old man who looked so angrily at Betty that it seemed like he could burn her with his gaze. " My mother is nearby. We need to get her out of here as well. '' Kian hurriedly added, " My real mother. The one who is not from this planet. She is here but she is injured. The humanoids might detect her if we leave her behind. " Kian had already picked me up and we were moving. " Let's go to Guardian Yvonne's place. He knows how to keep these things away. He might be angry but he is the only one I know who can help. " I whispered into Kian's ear. " You are staying with Guardian Yvonne? That's great. How did you manage to find him? " Kian asked, flashing such a beautiful smile that I found everything inside me melting. " I didn't. My father did. I didn't even remember him. Actually... " I was about to tell him that I didn't even remember him but he almost dropped me at the mention of my father. " What are you saying? Your father? You came here with your father? He is alive?Where is he? " I thought it was only me who was supposed to be dead but I was being told that my father wasn't supposed to be living as well. My insides were boiling trying to fathom what had happened previously that was so sinister. " Don't tell me your father is at Guardian Yvonne's place as well. " Kian stopped in his tracks. " Yes, he is. Is that supposed to be a problem? " I asked. He froze for a few seconds then turned the other way around. " We cannot go back there. " He declared without even bothering to explain or consult me.
