Start of a New Dawn

" It's time to say our goodbyes, my sweethearts. Let's meet again in the next life. "
The boys opened their eyes as they sat up with a jolt.
They were under the stars. There was darkness everywhere around them.
They were on top of the highest peak around.
Their clothes were around as they sat there and looked up at the twinkling wonders above their heads.
A particularly bright star shone so bright that it made everything around them as clear as the moonlight.
They looked at each other and then they looked up above.
They could not understand what they were doing.
They immediately ran towards their clothes when the realization of their n*nakedness finally hit them.
" Do we know each other? "
One of them asked as the others looked at him with more confusion.
" I think we do. Are we waiting for someone? " Another one asked.
" I think we are here because of that. " The third one pointed at the Southern Star.
" My knights! "
They turned around as they heard a voice.
" That's her. She is calling out to us. "
They ran towards the source.
" We are here! "
They called out to her.
" Come to me, my knights. Fulfill your promise. "
She kept calling as they walked forward.
A white veil lifted itself as they stepped inside water.
" Give me your blood. Give me yourselves."
She called.
As if they knew what she was asking, the three of them slit their wrists and let their blood drip on the floor and collect into a puddle.
The puddle grew as their blood combined with each other and then it traveled in a line towards the source of that voice.
A moaning ecstasy filled the air, another veil dropped and they saw the silhouette of a woman behind it.
They saw her stand up as she touched her lower abdomen.
" I will have to leave now, my knights. I need to nurture this little life inside me.
Do not forget me, my lovers.
Only your memories can keep me alive.
This is not the end of our story, this is the start of a new dawn. "
She was gone before they could say anything else.

Xen woke up with the sound of gunfire.
He instinctively leaped to a side and took cover before crouching low and looking around.
He was in the middle of a crossfire. He had his leather jacket on and a gun in his hand. He fit the scenario perfectly.
His aim was as smooth as it used to be. He shot his way out of there before running down a long alley.
He thought about how he ended up in that situation. Did he not leave that life behind long ago?
" Boss! You did great back there. It was awesome. Those b*stars will never set their eyes over our shipments, ever again. "
A fat little guy came running after him.
Xen grabbed his head as it started throbbing.
" Boss! What's wrong? Is that migraine disturbing you again? Should I call the doctor? Did you bring your medicine? "
The guy bent over Xen and was trying to help him.
" Medicine? " Xen asked with confusion.
" Yes. Your emergency medicine. The one you carry inside your pendant. "
Xen immediately pulled out the chain around his neck that he didn't know that he had.
And sure enough there was a pendant hanging from it.
He opened it but a note popped out along with a drawing instead of any medicine.
" Check my notebook. Do not forget her. "
Xen found himself staring at the most innocent looking sketch of a girl, staring back at him.
" Notebook... Where is my notebook? " Xen yelled as the guy looked at him with concern.
" Which one is the boss? " He looked scared as Xen shook him. " Do you mean the one you keep inside your safe?"
Xen waited no more. He ran towards what was supposed to be an office. He punched the numbers and slammed his hand over the scanner as the little safe flung its door open.
It was empty except for a little black notebook.
" Mira! "
Xen gasped as the word rolled effortlessly out of his tongue.
He turned the pages as he kept chanting her name.
The single name 'Mira' was scribbled all over and Xen kept calling her as tears dripped from his eyes seamlessly.

" Master Kian, they are waiting for you at the party.
As per your grandfather's will, they will not be able to take any decision without your consent.
This new project is very important for all of them.
It connects our nations with a lot of others.
Please grace us with your presence even if it is for a few minutes. "
Kian's secretary was dressed in a tight fitting low dress. She was a young woman with a defined curvy body.
It was the dead of the night and Kian was still inside his cabin.
There was nobody else in the building and the lights were also dim.
She was here to persuade Kian to attend a very important social event.
Her smile, her youth was enough to sway any bachelor. But Kian was different.
He had no interest in women.
He loved keeping a low profile even though he was one of the most influential personalities in his field.
His eyes were always lost and dreaming as if searching for something.
He would spend hours looking out of his window, brooding.
Life never felt the same ever since he had to take over his grandfather's business empire.
" Go away! " He told her without looking back, his eyes fixed on a distant star. " Tell them I will come if I want to. Don't keep nagging like you are my mother. "
The woman immediately left after apologizing.
Kian turned back towards the star.
" Why does it feel like you are watching me? Why do I feel like I know you? You are only but a star, but I have a name for you. Is this normal? Mira, talk to me.
I feel so lonely.
It's unbearable. "
Kian grabbed the edge of his table as he turned the rest of the lights off in the room.
