***At Chemora - Several earth-hours after Mira's birth*** Kiara lay on the ground. Her crimson feathers scattered all over the ground. Torn and plucked mercilessly as they slowly lost their colors and then withered away in front of her eyes. He had left her for dead. Kiara could still not believe it. The one whom she had once loved so dearly. The one who was the father to her child. As she tried to move a little, blood spilled out through her mouth and nose. It seemed like she had broken her rib cage in that fight. She knew her powers were nothing compared to his. " Kiara, why are you making me do this? " He flung her across as if she was nothing more than a mere insect. Kiara was no ordinary mage, yet she was the most vulnerable, the most helpless at the moment. His hands extended, his dark powers formed a circular grip around Kiara's neck and the diameter of the ring slowly compressed. " Kill me! Just kill me already! " Kiara yelled through her pain, locking her eyes directly with Darkness personified. Perhaps, desperately looking for that Calex, whom she still loved. " You think I will not do it? " The smirk on his handsome face looked surreal. He had Kiara pinned mid-air , gliding through the air, descending over her. " Not an ounce, " Kiara retorted, " but I wonder why you haven't done it yet. " They were almost head to head now. Their legs were hovering a little over the ground. He touched her loose hair with his fingers moving it down her cheek, pretending to tuck it behind her ear. " Don't you know the reason? A dead goose lays no eggs. " His repulsive voice cackles with laughter. Whatever lingering attachment Kiara had for that individual disappeared. " Mira... I have to think about Mira... " Kiara hummed in her head. " Now tell me where that girl is before I slit your throat and take your head away to adorn my collections. You know I have a lot of them. " Kiara looked away as he came dangerously close to her mouth. " I showed you around my place that day, didn't I? Ahhh...." He sniffed her down her shoulder blade, making her involuntary shudder. " Do you remember how it felt? You were a mere bud. I turned you into a woman, you became a flower... but with thorns. " His breath left a trail of goosebumps along the length of her exposed shoulder and arm. He slipped his fingers and intertwined her fingers with his, pressing it down with such force that Kiara had to bite her lips. She could hear the bones adjacent to her knuckles crack. Excruciating pain ran up her entire nervous system but she was not going to let him have the pleasure of her screams. Never ever. " What's the matter? Are we holding back today? You didn't seem to hold back that night when your walls pulsated and squirmed around the hard of my shaft. Don't you remember how to call my name and begged me to carry on? Over and over again, like a little sl*t? " Kiara gulped. All those physical tortures didn't have that much effect on her as did his words. She kept on biting her lips. But this time it was to prevent those treacherous tear drops from falling. But the slightest sniff and she left herself open in front of him again. " There... there... Are we getting emotional here? Does it hurt? Well it shouldn't. I am done playing with you. All I want is the girl. Give her to me and be gone. " His eyes threatened to flare up. Kiara took a deep breath and then came up with her reply. " Never. I will never regret the birth of my child no matter the humiliation you put me through. " She slit her own vein with her fang and as blood gushed out of her veins, she smiled at Calex, rather the Dark Lord and said, " And I will never be sorry for the night where I conceived my baby! " She was about to close her eyes forever but the Dark Lord could hold it no more. He roared aloud at his failure as the entire place burst into flames. It slowly wrapped itself around Kiara, like a warm blanket. This was exactly the same time when the thunder struck the concrete walls around Mira, when she was getting desperate as a little babe. Her flames were from her father and the twin flames somehow connected. When Mira's desperation for survival opened the portal to Chemora, she sucked her dying mother along with her as well, completely oblivious to the fact that she was just about to sacrifice herself for Mira's sake. As an effect of the bodily transmigration between the earths, Kiara had completely forgotten about her own identity and purpose. She lived a happy life with the daughter she so loved, raising her on her own, just like she wanted. Never expecting that the past would soon catch up. But it did and we know what happened after that. Now with her own powers freshly awakened in the human world, she needed a little time to calibrate herself. She had a soul-tie with the Dark Lord which she found impossible to shake off. It made her an easy prey and vulnerable. She had to put extra effort to ward his influences off. She blamed herself for not being able to stay in touch with Mira when she needed her the most. The powers she possessed were unimaginable. Kiara needed to teach her how to restrain herself even though she had put a masking spell on her abilities. It was still dangerous. But she didn't have much time to ponder. The minions of the Dark Lord had found her again. As she ran from them, she found herself climbing up a steep mountain. It was good camouflage because it was surrounded by dense forest. And the woods stretched quite far. But as soon as she neared the core area , she immediately felt the pulsation of something that she shouldn't have. ***For reader clarification, the narration slowly shifts from the past Chemorian landscape to present day earth. ***
