Ground Zero

At Rozelle and George's place -
" I thought we were taking 'days off'! We just got back home... Why are we packing our bags again? Where do you plan to go? "
George asked as Rozelle scurried through the secret vault in their basement.
She understood that it would be difficult to get her desired kind of a response from the Elder Watchers. She had Robert's coordinates jotted down. He was the only one who would understand what she meant.
" You have the details of those kids... don't you? "
Rozelle turned around at George who was still comfortably tucked in his recliner.
" Kids? Oh, you mean 'those kids'... yeah... yeah... of course I do... " He was taking his sweet time getting up but Rozelle literally got up on him and demanded he sit up.
" Good. I need to know everything about their private lives and their families. Hand me the papers. "
She extended her hand.
George gave her a high five and sat up, putting on an innocent smile.
" Papers? Who uses pagers anymore? I have it in the system. Let me check my laptop real quick. " He knew his sister meant business and slagging won't work.
" By the way... what exactly are you planning to do with them? I mean family information and all... We know they haven't been in contact with their families for awhile. I just checked the records at the Watchers' Tower.
There hasn't been any trace of them. "
As George spoke he hurriedly went over several files.
" Guess, we will have to do it the old way. Those kids have some connection with the appearance of those Dark Mages... I need to dig that connection out... by myself.... Last time I checked, you were going goo-gaga over that girl! "
" What! " George almost fell from his chair at that sudden allegation.
" Like I can't read your feelings, huh? I can read you like a book... you are my only brother... " Rozelle hit him at the back of his head and yelled, " Now get to work. "
She sat down on the floor with her legs crossed.
" Got one right here. Parents dead or missing...information missing about them. Grandfather is a billionaire. I Have a fiance... "
" A what? They are still supposed to be in school... fiancee? Do you have that right? Rozelle asked, coming closer to the screen to check the data herself.
" Yes. She was in the same school they went to. I know her. That girl's a real b*tch." George smiled and winked.
" Okay. Next one. " Rozelle urged.
" Lived with his divorced mother. Has an estranged relationship with father. "
"Alright. The girl and the other guy? " Rozelle asked.
" There is no record about Mira's father. She used to live with her mother but she seems to be missing as well. "
George announced.
" Hmmm... " Rozelle silently observed
" As for the last guy, he has no family. But when I did some digging I found out something interesting about him. He has criminal records. A lot of them and was apparently a favorite of the Mafia Lord as well.... but he decided to go solo much to his distaste.... Rumor has it that they are back on good grounds once more."
George closed the laptop shut and dusted his hand,
" And that's done and dusted for. Now what do we do with them? Tell me your brilliant plan. "
Rozelle walked past him, scuffling his hair, " Now you my little brother, watch and learn how it is done. "

At the Airport -
" Coffee, anyone? " Kian asked as they waited for boarding to commence.
He went to bring it anyway because neither of them answered.
Mira looked disoriented and the other two were zoning out.
" And the total will be... " The barista was about to tell him the total amount but Kian just slapped his card in his hand.
" Please hurry up, " He said as he took the cups.
" Ho... hold up... your card doesn't work. " The Barista called him as he just turned around.
" What? That's impossible... try it again..." Kian demanded.
" We did, sir but sorry to announce, it doesn't work. Maybe you don't have sufficient balance. Is there another card that you can try or cash perhaps? "
Kian put the coffee down. His calm exterior had perished. What under the heavens was happening? He couldn't use any of his other cards. This card was the only one untraceable. It had no limits so funding was not the issue here. Only two people had the authority to shut it down, Kian and his grandfather. Kian believed he had explained himself to his grandfather and there was no possible reason for him to make the card non-functional.
" Is there any problem? " Xen had walked the counter when he sensed a ruckus. He was absent minded lately but not so much as to ignore a mess right in front of his nose.
" Nothing to worry about sir. This card got declined. We are just asking sir if wants to use any alternate way for payment. " The Barista flashed his fake smile.
Xen glanced at Kian's flabbergasted face and sighed,
" Here.... we will pay in cash. How much was it? "
He pulled out his wallet and just got done with the payment when an announcement caught their attention.
" Attention everyone. The following snippets are meant for those familiar with the term "Chemora".Pay close attention to the voices that you hear. This might be your key to win the next lottery. "
Mira and Braze immediately sat up and glanced at Kian and Xen.
They looked around, not very many people were affected by that announcement. They simply went about their activities as if it was another marketing gimmick.
But the four of them had their ears standing in full attention.
The sound of ruffling followed as if there was some disturbance in the system and then they heard a female voice.
" If you recognise the following voices, drop your asses off at the given coordinates by day end. I don't have the patience to wait any longer."
