Double cross

" Where is Braze and Kian? "
Xen yelled as they almost heckled him and took him to another chamber.
His hands were cuffed even though they said they just wanted to talk. It irked Xen a lot and he felt like punching each one in their face.
The ones who had brought him there, left without answering his question, leaving him fuming with more rage .
" Calm down dear boy! Rage is not good for those that come from your tribe. "
Xen looked around but saw no one.
Then the door flung open and a very old looking man entered.
He smiled at Xen and then closed the door behind him and it was only Xen and himself, in that chamber.
" Let me introduce myself dear boy, I am a retired Watcher and I used to go by the name, Big Boy. "
Xen did not reciprocate his smile.
" I believe that you might be well aware of your roots. "
He stared into Xen's eyes as if reading his thoughts.
" Not a problem dear boy. That's what we are here for.
Let me show you something. Something that I had documented myself. "
He switched on a projector and images started playing on a wall.
The pictures seemed quite hazy at the beginning but gradually it adjusted and Xen could understand that the place was outside the earth.
He had experienced transformation but he had not seen how it looked.
Xen's expressions changed a million hues. It was his first time seeing someone just like him and it looked horrendous.
His fingers dig on his own flesh as he tried to contain the angst and disgust that overtook him.
When he was at the brink of losing it, the old man shut the screen off, much to Xen's relief.
A sigh left him involuntarily.
" You see my dear boy, this was a snippet from your tribe. Your people are brute and strong but most importantly they are scavengers. One distinctive trait that they have is thriving on their own dead. When a member nears the end of their life, it's compulsory for the rest to feed on him so the strength is not wasted and it keeps circulating. "
He made it sound so normal but when he glared at Xen above his oval glasses, he knew what he was doing.
" Before you erupt and take all your anger out on me, let me tell you, I am not lying a single bit. I am just here to help. I am here to help you reclaim your memory. The one that will unlock the answer that you had been looking for- why were you sent to planet earth. All I need is your willingness. "
Before Xen could understand he was staring right into the old man's oval glasses where lights were spiraling at a certain rhythm .

Rozelle was not at all in favor of going to the Watcher facility to treat her wounds.
But she could not deny that only they could make her feel better instantly.
Those were derived from several elements alien to planet earth.
Rozelle got up from her bed and tried to walk out of the door.
She was instantly nabbed by a guard.
It was weird to have a guard stationed outside a hospital facility.
" Relax. I am not running away before answering the Council. I am just going to get my pager. I need to talk to Watcher Robert."
The guard gave her a weird look.
" There is no one registered under the name of Robert as a Watcher anymore.Hence your pager will be useless to try and send them a message. Please focus on recuperating alone. You will be able to resume with your Watcher responsibilities soon after the Council has decided on your punishment. "
Rozelle's left eye brow danced up.
" What am I until then? A prisoner? " She asked rather disgustedly and cursing Robert under her breath.
" I am afraid not. Prisoners are not kept in facilities like this. We have been allocated for your safekeeping.
Our prison cells are unusually crowded today.
There are a lot of aliens in custody today. We have been told to keep everyone safe. "
Rozelle shrugged.
What was going on? The guards looked human but the way they answered was very odd.
It took her only a few minutes to understand that they were humanoid robots, artificial intelligence. Perhaps very recently recruited.
Rozelle scoffed.
" Oh, I see. I am so grateful for your help. I will surely go back to my bed now. Umm, but I have a question. Will you be able to answer it? " She asked.
" I will be able to answer anything as long as the information is available in my database. Please ask your question so I can check whether or not the answer is available. "
" Okay! " Rozelle tried to play around with her words, "Those aliens that you told me about, can you please tell me which planet they are from? "
Rozelle shrugged again as she tried to look nonchalant.
" I am just curious. But I don't think such information will be there in your database. "
She tried to make her way back in when the guard spoke again,
" They are all from Chemora. And it seems like they are all very powerful. They reached the top spot in my danger index. We must be on high alert. Please go inside. "
He was back to his professionalism.
Rozelle hit the wall once she was inside.
" Damn! This could only mean that they double crossed Robert.... Robert, Robert! My silly old Robert! Did I not tell you that involving the Watcher was a bad idea. You were so worried about my health. Damn it! Silly! Now look at what you have done. I will have to go rescue you a lot in this state. So much for recovering and resting.
Georgieeeee! My dear brother! Where are you? We need to move some muscles! "
