Chapter 100 Ninety-nine

   “ I cry when you cry. ”
***
  Five years later,

Miranda opened the door to her daughter's room and sighed helplessly when she didn't find her there.
She matched towards her son's and there she met them spooned together on the bed.  “ Gosh, how many times do I have to tell them not to sleep together.  ” She muttered under her breath.
She'd thought the doctor had been over exaggerating when she said they'll be literally inseparable. Now? She figured Angelina was more than right. They couldn't even stay a moment without each other.

“ Nuel, Nuella. ” She patted them lovingly and slowly but steadily she was welcomed by two deep blue eyes.  Ones she'd come to fall in love with.
“ Mom… ” Nuella was the first to react as she detached herself from her brother's embrace and went into her mother's arms.
“ Good morning, Hon. ” She pecked her cheeks and straightened her short hair which was tied in two messy buns.
“ Morning, Mom. ” She rubbed her head on Miranda's chest as she'd always done.
Miranda brought her gaze to face Nuel who had been silently watching their interactions. “ Good morning, Mom. ” He finally reached out to her and embraced her.
“ How was your night? ”
“ It was alright. Yours? ” They stared at her.
“ Great. ”
“ Ella, let's head over to your room, shall we? ” Nuella turned to face her twin who gave her a nod of approval.
  “ Okay. ”
Miranda sighed at their little interaction. It's always been like that ever since they were toddlers. She'd learn the hard way to always have them in the company of each other as it's only then they were completely themselves.
Despite what she'd expected, they never got tired of being around each other. Not even when, they simply sat on the couch and stared at each other.
The chemistry between them had been super amazing and she will never stop being grateful for the opportunity to be able to witness it.
“ You should freshen up, Nuel or you will be late for school. ”
“ Okay. ” She was glad he didn't argue. It had certainly taken them weeks to actually convince them of the importance of attending elementary school, rather than being homeschooled.
“ Will I be separated from Nuel? ” Was Nuella’s first question and Miranda felt her heart melt at her question. It was only after she'd assured them that they won't be separated did she agree to get registered in elementary school.

Miranda helped her daughter into the bathtub as she began preparing her bath and the essentials that were required.
“ Ella? ”
“ Mom? ” Miranda sighed at her babyish voice.
“ Why did you sleep in Nuel’s room? ”

“ Mom… ” She bowed her head, like she'd always done when she felt she'd disappointed her mom just like now.
“ I'm not angry, okay? ” Miranda patted her hair gently in a reassuring manner.
“ Realle? ” She nodded.
“ I feel alone and lonely when I'm not with Nue. ”
“ So you don't feel lonely when you are with him? ”
“ Yes, Mom. ”
“ Okay. ”
Silence reigned between them as Miranda got her ready.
Her school uniform was neat and ironed, a white shirt and blue flay skirt with purple stripes on it. The blue bow tie further added to its beauty making her look super childish and beautiful.
   “ How do I look, Mom? ”
“ Pretty. ”
“ Thank you! I'll go ask Nue. ” The latter ran out of the room before she could react.
“ Let me guess, she didn't do as you said? ” Miranda turned to face her husband who was now dressed in his tuxedo.  Even after so many years of marriage, she still felt super enamored by him.
“ Yeah. ” She leaned into his embrace as he wrapped his arms around her.
“ You don't have to try so hard, you know. ” She knew what he meant, but it couldn't be helped. She feared that if this continued. It might be super hard to separate them.
“ It will be fine, Hon. ” He placed a peck on her lips, but she deepened the kiss before he could move away.
They remained in that position, wrapped around each other and kissing.  “ Ew. ” An echo at the door reminded them that they've got company and they smiled at their kids who looked like super twin models brought out from a magazine.
“ Let's head to school, shall we? ” They nodded and soon the family of four were out of the house.
***
“ Will I be bullied, Mom? ” Miranda turned to face her daughter who was half hugging her.
“ I'll be there, remember? ” Nuel replied before she could say a word. Miranda exchanged gazes with Joseph in the rear view mirror and sighed. Why does it feel like there's a love rival now?
“ Of course not. ” She grinned, pinching his cheeks happily.
“ Will I make friends? ” This was something Miranda was somehow worried about. Given how super attached the latter was to her twin, she wondered if she'll be able to form a bond and connection with other people.
“ Of course you will, Baby girl. You'll have lots and lots of friends. ”
“ Really, Daddy? ” There was definitely nothing that could be compared with her enthusiasm.
“ Of course. Daddy doesn't lie, remember? ”
“ Yup. I think I'm starting to like school already, Hahaha. ”

Later,
During the lunch break, Nuel had just branched at his sister's class when he met her feeling a bit downcasted.
“ Ella. ” He crouched in front of her.
“ You okay? ” He reached out to tap her face. She raised up her head and shook her head vigorously.  “ Ella is sad, Nue. ”
“ Why is Ella sad? ” He repeated in the same voice as her.
“ Because… for the first time, Ella had to stay three hours without Nue. ”
“ Um… I won't leave you next time, Kay? ”
“ Sure. ”
“ Let's have lunch, Kay? ”
“ Great. ” They opened their flasks and had their lunches, whilst engaging in small conversations which were mostly through signs and body signals.
Vera Lynn, who happened to be their class teacher, smiled at their interactions.
She'd always believed different gender twins would be less close, but who knew?
“ How are they? ” Miranda asked from the video call.
“ They are great, as you can see. ” She turned the camera to the kids and Miranda felt her heart soar at their interactions.
“ They act like a vital part of each other. ”
“ If I hadn't known better I would have thought they are conjoined twins. ”
“ Yeah. ”
“ You are so lucky, Miranda. ”
“ It's not luck, it's God. ” Vera couldn't help agreeing more.
“ Thank you for the opportunity to share this joy with you. ”
“ You're welcome, I can't wait to share yours. ” Vera couldn't help blushing at her words.
“ Hey, miss. Wanna join? ” She looked up to see the twins staring at her.
“ Nah…Thank you. ”
“ You sure? My Dad is definitely the best cook in the world. ”
“ Really? Your Dad made that? ” Their words were so unexpected. She'd never thought that there were actually men that volunteer to do the cooking in the home since it's widely believed it's a woman's work.
“ Yup. Mom only makes dessert on weekends. ”
“ That's nice. Enjoy. ”
“ Thank you, Miss. ”
….
A/N : What do you think, guys?
My enthusiasm is slowly running low. What do you think I should do, guys?
