Chapter 61: Old Friends

As the he king lose his subconscious state, empathetic members rushed him towards the nearest room, there are no doctors nearby and neither can they bring the endangered royal in public. They have to call someone in privately.
Drea decided to settle inside Dylan's room. She's worried and at the same time scared but she knew that her Dylan is more than what she expected, he is strong. For the last time, she stared at him.
Drea knew nothing of what is happening inside his mind right now, or if it is even functioning, but she's continously hoping that her old childhood friend Lan could be back. She sighed before she left the king into deep sleep.
Dylan is unaware of what is happening, inside his mind, he is having a little voyage of discovery. His plead for answers is about to be answered, not fully, but at least even just for a bit.
The king opened his eyes. To him, he is not dreaming. Everything that he saw is not part of any illusion. Dylan realized that he is in a garden. It wasn't the mansion's garden, it was something different.
Voices of young girls giggled, it made Dylan look left and right. The smell of flowers were alluring, he couldn't help but to stop and inhale the scent of the roses. His eyes closed as he do so.
While enjoying the taste of summer, the voices stopped. Quiet steps sneaked towards Dylan. He is unaware of what is happening. All he could think of is to savor the scent.
Finally, the girls revealed themselves. Drea was standing behind the young king while Zeil was beside him.
"BOO! You're such a gay Lan HAHAHA!" Drea laughed.
Dylan jumped like a surprised cat. Zeil laughed in chorus with Drea, the young girls did not mind anything, they have no problem. Dylan just rolled his eyes at them. After a minute, he regained his composure.
He stared at them more seriously.
"Are you done ladies?" He asked while raising an eyebrow.
The two restrained themselves from laughing. Their creamy faces were now as red as tomatoes. They have shallow happiness, with each others presence, they can easily laugh and be happy. But sadly, they were never meant to stay together forever.
"Why are you here by the way?" Drea asked.
Dylan's expression softened. He knew that this is goodbye, today is his last day in Vermont. Zeil noticed his sudden change.
"Why? Is there something wrong?" Zeil asked.
Dylan is about to tell the both of them about the bad news, but he has something exciting inside his mind. The young king wants to savor his last few hours. The sad face was replaced by a joyful smile.
"What if we go somewhere?" Dylan started his plan.
The two girls looked at one another, they liked his idea.
"This will be fun for sure, but where is that somewhere?" Drea mouthed her curiosity.
She wanted to take a stroll as well, and her friend Lan read her mind.
"I'll tell you once we get there." Dylan's smile grew even wider as he spoke.
Both Drea and Zeil nodded. They want to come, immediately, they followed Dylan and his steps. They headed out. The three friends started walking. The joy inside of them were undeniably strong, they were all hoping for that day not to end.
Dylan led the way, the two were unfamiliar of which path are they taking but they trust him. The road was new to their sight. Zeil's curiosity is running like horses inside her mind. There, she asked Dylan.
"Where are we going?"
Dylan did not bother to look at her, he continued walking as he answered her question.
"Secret, I'll tell you once we get there." Dylan softly chuckled at the end of his revelation.
He saw the place earlier, and he knew that the two might enjoy it too. Not for long, the sound of gushing river filled their hail. Drea and Zeil's eyes widened. They kept on walking but they already knew where they are headed.
Zeil's feet were too excited, it was almost tap dancing. Continously, they went on. The clear and flawless terrain was now replaced by a rocky one. Their steps began to be more careful. Dylan assisted the two as they went climb down.
Pebbles became huge rocks, they've reached their destination. All of them smiled. The river was clear and clean, it was unlike any they have seen. Dylan first sat down. The two girls were still busy looking around. The place looks fantastic.
Only the sound of flowing water could be heard, it was peaceful. This kind of ambience is one of those that Dylan will miss here in Vermont. As quietness fill the riverbanks, movements were detected. Dylan's senses sharpened. He stopped his relaxation.
Slowly, he looked left and right. The two girls were aware of what is happening. The crumpled tone of leaves were followed by footsteps. For an unknown reason, Dylan's heart started beating fast.
"What's happening? Is anyone there?" Even Drea is nervous, her voice was agitated.
Zeil moved closer towards Dylan, all the three of them were scared. The movements continued, Dylan could see that they are many.
'I need to protect them.' He concluded.
The young king pulled the Drea towards his arms. They all compressed to one another. Quietly, he looked around to watch while sitting.
"Show yourself." Dylan ordered in a serious tone.
The footsteps stopped, Dylan's voice echoed. Silence almost followed but a loud evil laugh destroyed the quietness. The voice was so familiar to his hearing. The intruder is someone he knew.
"Little future king still as brave as his mother." The voice mocked.
All six eyes followed where the voice came from and it's location scared them. All of them stood up. Zeil's knees were trembling in fear. She can sense danger.
Finally, the man revealed himself. From his hiding spot, he walked infront of the three significant children of interests. He flashed a devise grin that no could could ever forget, but there was more from him.
"You three are coming with us."
