Chapter 63: Zeil
"Can I come with you?" Dylan asked.
Liam is about to leave, after he told Dylan about his drive towards the city, he urged himself to come. He wanted to say no this time but he kept on insisting for more than 10 times already.
The young reaper just sighed. He can't win against his king.
"Fine sir, but you need to be careful once we get there."
Dylan smiled triumphantly. He has something in mind. Drea became a great friend, but for him that's not enough. So before he moves on to his courtship, he wanted to know her more. A trip to the city can give him an idea of what should he give her.
Liam and Dylan went inside the car. The city is a bit far from the woods, but speeding up won't hurt in this mountain range. The both of them took the backseat. A peacekeeper will be the one to drive.
As the engine started, Liam recalled his appointment with a new recruit. Buying groceries weren't his main agenda, to meet someone is. All the other members were busy, and he was the only one free to take the responsibility.
The car began to move. The speed was undeniably fast. They can't be late.
As they continued their phase, Liam wondered of why on earth will someone join a mafia league while the Blood war is still in rage. He finds it off and suspicious. He wanted to cut the recruitment out but a senior capo told him not to.
The city lights started to flicker as they approach their destination. To Dylan, he felt like something new will happen. Intuition was his pretty good friend. Not for long, they've reached their destination. The car stopped.
"I'll guard from the outside, take it from here Liam." Wayne said.
Liam just nodded as he went out. Dylan could not get their signals, but he still decided to follow Liam. As the two walk, Fox and Hawk did what they could to hide their identities. Inside the cafe, they can see Dylan and Liam walking towards them.
"Don't take the shot, it's dangerous." Fox read Hawk's mind.
To him, Dylan is now vulnerable. A clear shot can get the job done, but Fox analyzed the chances, it's not impossible for them to be caught at this rate.
Hawk remained seated after her warning. They already planned their assassination. It will be clean. The chimes rang, the two entered the premises.
Liam looked around to see whom they are meeting. Not for long, he realized that Fox and Hawk are the only one inside the café.
'Maybe they are the new ones.' Liam added inside his mind.
Dylan still couldn't get why they are here, he thought they were off to go get some groceries for the league. He wanted to ask, but it's not appropriate for the situation.
The young reaper settled near the two assassins' table. His eyes traveled to analyze Fox and Hawk. They look neat, but something doesn't feel right to him.
"Before you become a full member of the crescent you still need to be tested out." Liam spoke.
He did not bothered himself about sitting, he wanted to maintain his toughness. For new members, they have their rules. They must first blend in to be accepted.
"That will be no problem at all, I'm Top by the way." Hawk greeted him.
Liam just nodded at him. Dylan did not know that this young man could be cunning and scary. He finds Liam cute and sweet, but he was wrong. Fox then followed with her introduction.
"Serene here."
Liam's eyes switched to stare at her. He indirectly criticized her expression. The presence of the two is still heavy and intriguing for Liam. He did not felt something like this before.
The young reaper was about to speak but Dylan interrupted.
"Dylan's the name, nice to meet the two of you." He greeted them.
It was Fox's first time to hear Dylan's voice. She was awestruck. Hawk on the other hand could see Fox's reaction, he was a bit annoyed.
"Shall we proceed to the training grounds?" Liam resumed.
The two just nodded, but Fox's attention is still captured by Dylan. To her, his voice sounds familiar.
Liam led the way, the training grounds are below the café's first floor. It's a bunker, specially built to test new members. Bluemierre is a high class league, before someone can join them, authorized members will test the new recruits. They believe in the value of quality than quantity.
Fox and Hawk followed but Dylan remained in his current standing point. He just stared at them as they vanish in his sight. Fox wasn't the only one to feel creeps over her body, even Dylan can sense something unusual and familiar with Fox.
The café gave Dylan deja vu. To him, nothing is new, and that his past experiences are repeating itself. He couldn't grasp for who this 'Serene' is, but just like Drea, Dylan wanted to dig deeper into her personality.
Hawk can sense that Fox is not in her full self. It's unusual to him seeing the strong assassin associating herself with her next target. Something is off, and before it gets even more worse, he wants to end it.
All three of them reached the bunker. Many trainers were awaiting their coming. A capo stood up to greet them.
"Welcome, but Bluemierre needs to test your efficiency and loyalty."
Hawk and Fox knew about this. They knew how strict the crescent is, but despite that, they need to endure. 10 Billion is at stake, and it's not only the money whom they are working for but are so their lives.
If they fail, it's not only their lives which might be endanger, but also their loved ones. Hawk needs to succeed or else her siblings and family will pay for his actions.
They need to finish their job, or else, they will be the one assassinate.Download Novelah App
