Chapter 64: Secret Tactics

"Hit the target." Liam ordered Fox.
Fox just smirked. To her, it is not hard to hit the small can behind the piece of meat. She can't move, nor redirect her gun, but this is her hidden expertise.
All trainers took their steps backwards. The ground fell silent and the only thing which could be heard is sound of a cocking gun. Like a sniper, Fox aimed. Many predicted that she might fail, but their prediction is about to go wrong.
The assassin focused on her target, her heart slowed its own beating. Adrenaline came rushing in, it was twice her normal drive. Everything in her sight became clear, with fingers positioned to pull the trigger, Fox closed her left eye.
The can's position is locked. Without wasting any second, Fox pulled the trigger. The bullet traveled slow in her sight. The capos anticipated her failure, but as the bullet approached the meat, it went around the hanging pork's leg.
The bullet curved its way towards the can. Not for long, the sound of crashing metal filled the area. Fox's aim did not miss, her target was crumpled and the beer spilled across the dry floor.
Everyone's mouths were left open. After years of entertaining new recruits, they've never seen anything quite like this before. Fox's tactic is a long practiced skill that she kept as a secret, only a few are familiar with it.
But despite her great start, Liam maintained his toughness. He still finds Fox suspicious. There, from his place, Liam stood up.
"Top, it's your turn next." Liam reminded.
Hawk followed his command. He expected the same challenge, but he was given with a different task. Two capos surrounded Hawk. His test is about one on one battle. Bluemierre treats men as their guns during close contact fighting.
'This will be easy.' Hawk said in his mind with compliance.
The test started with no proper warning, the tall white man wrapped Hawk in his arms violently. He tried to strangle him with his grip on his neck, but the assassin of Flying Talons did not bulge, instead, he sidearm puched the capos chest.
The impact was painful, internal bleeding was almost predicted. Hawk took the chance to free himself from the cage like arms, the capo still endured the pain of his punch. The second challenger saw his strength but he was not threatened, instead he positioned himself for a hand on hand combat. Hawk was attentive, his eyes analyzed every move of his opponent.
Tense full music played invisibly, the two maintained their eye contact at first, but the capo was rushed with his actions. With horsepower, he made his fist crumple like rocks, they immediately tried to land on Hawk's body.
His second punch attempt was positioned to drag Hawk down, the capos left arm pulled up strength from his entire upper body, there, he accompanied the punch with a kick. The strong calf of the capo hoped to turn Hawk down, but it failed. Instead, the assassin grabbed both of his arm and leg, the happenings were all fast but the eagle like eyes of Hawk did not forsaken him.
The capo was amazed of his agility and speed, almost everyone's mouth were left open for the second time. They have never seen someone as good as this since the last sparing of Reed and Dylan. The Bryst brothers were the best combat fighters that Bluemierre could ever have.
Hawk did not payed his attempts back, instead, he freed the capo from his grip. He is an assassin but he still yields a heart. The rest of the crescent who are speculating on them stood up. They passed the first test.
"You're next test will be a surprise one." Liam interrupted their moment of triumph.
He is not bitter with the new recruits, he just finds their presence odd and suspicious. Liam urged himself to investigate secretly.
"But for now, men move out. Bring the new members to their cells." Liam added.
The capos heard him and they followed. Liam knew that his king is waiting for him upstairs. The test wasn't long, but he sought that Dylan might be bored. He first climbed up, but as he reached the formal grounds, he found no one but the waiter.
"Where is Dylan?"
"He went out sir, he said that he'll be back immediately." The waiter answered.
Liam just shook his head, he is in big trouble now. Hurriedly, he ran outside. The night is still deep, but the city is still busy. There are so many people roaming around the streets, now, he is not sure of where to find him.
"This is all your fault Liam." He blamed himself.
Liam looked around, there are plenty of open establishments, he is not aware of where Dylan went. He did not mention any of his agendas to Liam, he just wanted to come because he wanted to buy Drea something. Finally, Liam hunched of where Dylan might be.
Quickly, he turned around. His next stop is at the jewelry store nearby. Knowing that his king looks in love, he sought that Dylan might have dropped by to buy some jewelries.
Liam's steps were fast, it did not take long before he could reach the shop. But after, he arrived, the young reaper found nothing. Dylan was not there. The tension made him groan and scratch his nape.
"Where are you sir?"
He continued to look around, but he saw no shadow of Dylan. If anything happens to him, Liam will surely take the blame. He is aware of how much the underground society needs the best peacekeeper of all time. Dylan is their only shot to peace.
Liam did not lose his hopes, he continued his search. If he needs to turn the whole city upside down, then he won't hesitate to. Bullet like sweats piled up in his body. The tension is already unbearable.
As his eyes scan the area, finally, something caught his attention.
