Chapter 67: Tyrie Volkzy

"What are you doing outside?!" Liam exclaimed.
He already sent Dylan home, thus leaving him and Tyrie alone inside the dark corner of the café. He was ordered to take care of Tyrie and her son, but seems like the widow is stubborn more than he thought of.
Tyrie just looked up to face him, though Liam is younger than her, he is taller and physically matured. She can see anger in his eyes, perhaps because if anything happens to her, he is the one to be blamed.
"I-Im so-sorry." Tyrie stammered with her apology.
She's scared, Liam resembled Harry's angry face. It's nostalgia brought to life. Upon hearing her voice, Liam calmed himself down. He needs to be sensitive while being protective.
"Just don't do it again." Liam added.
Tyrie nodded at him, it was her fault anyway. After realizing that they're too close, Liam moved away. Tyrie also felt chills with his stares. It might seem off, but she can see Harry in the young reaper.
"I'll take you home."
His eyes did not bother to look at her, he just focused on the outside view of the café, Liam respected her space. As much as possible, he needs to distant himself.
"I can manage." Tyrie refused with the offer.
"Don't be stubborn, I'll take you home now." Liam spoke with authority.
She has no other choice but to follow. Tyrie wanted to reply back but Liam started walking. It was her cue to follow. Her steps were small but his were big. She's not able to comprehend, but Liam didn't bother himself with it. The car was just parked near, not for long, the both of them reached Liam's luxury car.
As a gentleman, he opened a door for her. Tyrie rushed her steps and hopped inside. Liam closed the door for her. It's now his turn to take the driver's seat. Tyrie sat at the back, he still maintained their distance.
After Liam was settled, he started the engine. The cool light flashed and filled the interior of the car, it was relaxing to be viewed. Tyrie leaned backwards, the soft cushion crushed her tensioned spine. She accompanied it with a sigh, her eyes closed to follow.
From the rear mirror, Liam saw how she reacted. It's hard, he can relate to her. All of them can lose loved ones, but perhaps her case was different than his. Liam was never been in a relationship before.
The night is creeping, it's already 11 PM. He doesn't understand why Tyrie is still outside of the city at this time of night. Liam wanted to ask but he forgot that they're not close.
His eyes went back to the road, the drive won't be long. The protective house for Tyrie and her son is just nearby. Silence filled the air, but Tyrie broke it with a sigh.
'I'm tired, I look like fugitive. I'm hiding for safety.' She spoke inside her mind.
Her shoulders are toiled down, if Elias wasn't born then she could have just given up. He's the reason why should she fight. Tyrie is no longer living for herself, she's now a mother.
Despite their emotional distance, Liam felt her heaviness. There, he tried to comfort her.
"Everything will be okay."
Tyrie opened her eyes upon hearing that. There's no assurance in that, with everything, it seems like things are getting more worse.
"I hope so, but sadly, our life now is not normal like how I hoped it should be." Tyrie replied in a melancholic voice.
Liam couldn't find the right words to uplift her broken spirit. But though he doesn't know her fully, it's still painful to see someone suffer, and the woman in front of her is an example for that tragedy.
"You know, normal is boring. Why not try to use that to make your life exciting?" Liam suggested a virtue taht he used years ago.
Before he became a reaper, he enjoyed a peaceful life. No problems, no blood wars or no nothing. But despite that, Liam felt that he's missing all the action. As he longs for that excitement, Bluemierre found him.
There, Liam learned to use life to live.
Tyrie couldn't get his words.
"Excitement can kill, if safety is boring then I wouldn't mind dying in boredom." Tyrie contradicted.
"I see, I guess we share different insights. But don't be too pessimistic." Liam continued.
Tyrie couldn't do anything but to made a face, she can't stop herself from thinking negatively, after all, nothing positive is happening.
"You can't blame me." She explained.
She does have a point. What she is experiencing is far from someone's fairytale. Her husband died and the culprit behind Dylan's accident is starting to threaten them.
"I understand, but perhaps you just need to look at the picture the other way around."
Tyrie just snorted. Flipping the picture won't change the puzzle.
"I turned it, I rotated it, but I saw no meaning and purpose for all of this." She continued to complain.
Liam started to carve a smile on his face, Tyrie is more talkative than he anticipated. If she continues to be like this, then maybe he can consider being friends with her.
"Then maybe you need another photograph to look at. Sometimes people are too blind, the answers are in front of them but yet they kept on looking miles and miles away." The young reaper resumed his metaphorical speaking.
The widow, on the other hand is still not convinced with what he is saying. There's no point in looking at another picture, it'll still be vague and blurry.
"Put yourself in my shoes, then maybe you'll be able to understand what I'm going through." Tyrie's voice changed, it turned into somber like music.
Liam sensed her sadness, maybe he was too caught up with the idea of being strong that he almost forgot what Tyrie is experiencing. He wanted to pardon himself with his insensitivity, but he said enough for one night.
Fate seemed to agree with his silence, the drive ended. They're here...
