Sam gritted his teeth as he walked away with a cold expression on his face and tugged at Daniel's arm.
"Derek is so rude," Daniel said.
Sam ignored walking away with Daniel, they wanted to get a better look at the maid in his room.
Derek immediately slammed the door to his room, startling Lia from her wonderful sleep. She immediately opened her eyes.
"Are you awake?" Derek asked as he approached her.
Lia looked around, realizing she wasn't in her room. She freaked out when she saw Derek smiling aimlessly at her. She grabbed the blanket, clung to it, sat up, and yawned, stretching her arms in the air. She has a different feeling, "freedom" whispers in her mind.
Lia has never had such a good and peaceful nap since her resurrection. She feels more comfortable and relaxed here than at home.
"Where am I?" Lia asked, lips white and pale as she continued to scan her surroundings.
"You're in my bedroom," Derek said.
"Oh, that explains the smell."
Derek looked around his room in style. He begins to wonder if his dirty laundry is polluting the air.
"It smells like you, nice like blueberry-flavored juice," Lia said. Derek remembers the day he was drinking blueberry flavored juice in his room that spilled on his bed. He ran his fingers through his hair.
Derek sat on the bed, looking at her and admiring her beauty, but a strand of her hair distracted his pleasant gaze, so he tucked it behind her ear. Lia pinches her finger, she couldn't hold back his friendly smile.
Her expression changed in seconds as she remembered her husband Zach.
Lia froze, "Zach! Where's Zach?” she ground out.
Derek's happy smile turned into a glare, he knit his brows together. "Zach? I saved her, but she's so worried about that man, Zach,” he said to himself.
“Zach, I have to meet him. He has to look for me,” Lia said, shaking as she gathered the strength to get up from his bed, but she fell back. Ava healed her but it takes a few days for her to fully recover. Gathering more strength, Lia stood up, but Derek blocked her in the air with his hands outstretched.
"No, you're not going anywhere."
"I have to meet him, he'll be worried about me."
"You mean the man who doesn't care about you? This man will lead you to your grave. He killed you,” Derek said.
"Watch your tongue, Derek," Lisa said, pointing a finger at Derek's face, she hates when anyone mentions her savior's name or tries to tell her the truth.
“Zach didn't kill me, he aimed the bullet at you. Take a good look at me now, I'm alive, I'm whole and healthy." Lia said.
"It's all thanks to me, my mom, and Dana. Without us…"
"What happens without you? I would have been happy if you all would have left me alone.” Lia's voice trembles and her eyes fill with tears. She folds her hands in front of her chest.
Derek knew she was heartbroken. He knew she didn't want to share her thoughts with him.
Lia huddled on the bed as she thought back to what Zach had always done to her, the pain, the agony, the suffering, the isolation, the strain, and all. She wishes it could end, she wants to stay with Derek, but …
Her conscience tells her to return to him. Zach sacrificed a lot for her. Lia was deep in thought as tears trickled from her eyes, which were fixed to a wall.
Derek hugs her.
"Pour it out, Lia. You can't hold it forever.” He said while wiping away her tears. She wrapped her hands around him while tears streamed from her eyes, and she cried against his chest.
"I wish I had never come into this world!" Lia cried in her shaky voice as spit dripped onto his clothes. He didn't care, he knows Lia is going through a lot. She needs someone to open up to, she needs someone who can help her out of this predicament.
"No, Lia. You came into this world for a reason and you will surely fulfill this dream.” Derek comforted her and patted her on the back.
"I just want to be free!" came her trembling voice with so much authority.
"It's okay, Lia. Trust me, I'll make you live the life you've always wanted.” Derek said, holding back tears as his eyes met. His heart leaped as he leaned close to her, he felt something, something strange.
Something he hasn't felt in a lifetime now. Lia couldn't resist either, his warmth and scent made her move closer to him when her heart stopped. She looked into his eyes and saw something beautiful, which was love. He leaned toward her as she already closed her eyes, waiting for his lips to work their magic.
Suddenly the door flew open. Lia used Derek's shirt to wipe the wet mucus off her nose. They both broke the hug and acted normally. Derek licked his lips, almost kissing them.
"Hmm... I'm so sorry to bother you," Ava said as she stood behind the door with a bowl of brown soup and turkey drumsticks on a plate. Ava had a funny smile on her face. She knows her son competently, something is fishy there.
“I'll just put it here and go. Don't worry, you can carry on.” Ava said, smiling sheepishly as she placed the turkey and bowl of brown soup on a stool by the bed.
"Mom, stop lugging things. You can stay.” Derek said a bit annoyed. Ava looked at Lia, who had swollen eyes.
"Okay if you say so. Take that, my daughter." Ava said as she offered it to Lia.
"Thanks, Ma," Lia said while bowing her head and gathering the food.
Ava blushed and looked at the floor. "No need to thank me, love."
Lia takes something out of the brown soup with the spoon. Your eyes stare, and the soup tastes different. Lia has never tasted anything so delicious in her life.
"Wow," Lia said as she dunked some turkey drumsticks in her mouth.
"Yummy, right? ' Ava asked.
"So delicious," Lisa commented while hastily shoving the food into her mouth.
Lia coughs "Give her water," Ava ordered Derek, patting him on the back.
"Okay." Derek hands her water, they watch her eat. Lia was overjoyed to see people worried about her existence. It was as if the day was never meant to end for her.
