After eating and drinking to her satisfaction, Lia belched loudly.
"Oh, there you have it," Derek said as he grabbed a tissue from the tray and used it to wipe a brown soup stain from her cupid's lips.
"Thank you," Lia whispered, sunshine flooding her soul as her smile widened from ear to ear. Derek's heart sank when he saw her beautiful smile.
He was already on cloud nine when she thanked him. Derek put his hand on Lia's hand, he smiled at her as their eyes met. He kept looking into her blue eyes. There was beautiful and meaningful eye contact between them.
Ava coughed, and Derek jumped, letting go of Lia, who was staring elsewhere. Lia secretly giggles at Derek's weird reaction. Ava looked at Derek, blinking as her eyes adjusted to Lia's blushing face.
Ava started voicing concerns about Lia. She's afraid of letting Derek approach a stranger.
"Who are your parents?" Ava asked, fixing her gaze on Lia's expression.
Lia frowned.
"Hmmm..." She couldn't remember her parents or her childhood. All she knew was that Zach resuscitated her, Zach has been her only family ever since.
"I'm an orphan," Lia said, then remembers asking Zach about her parents once and he said she didn't have any.
"Oh, I'm so sorry love," Ava said. She felt pathetic seeing Lia's confused eyes. Ava is an orphan too, so she knows that awful feeling of being alone.
"Do you have a guardian or siblings?" Ava asked.
"Nah, I only have Zach."
"Zach?" Ava mentioned. She remembers that name, she remembers it just like yesterday, but she doubts Zach could marry a young girl like Lia.
"There are many Zachs in the world," Ava said to herself.
"Yes, he's my husband," Lia said.
Ava gasped, mouth wide open and eyes on the ceiling.
"May I ask if he is the rich man who owns a golden palace in the southern region? Is that the Zach you're talking about?” Ava asked.
"My Zach has a golden home but I'm not sure if he lives in the southern region. I'm always indoors and have no memory. I forget things easily, but not Zach.”
"Mom, let's stop talking about that monster, he was the one who shot Lia. He didn't deserve her husband. Why don't we talk about me?” Derek blurted out, unable to hide his jealousy of Zach
Ava was deep in thought, but she doubts Zach could be the horrible man Derek sang about.
Ava let go of those brooding, thoughtful thoughts.
"Who is Derek to you, Lia? I hope you guys haven't started dating yet?” Ava blurted out. Derek nudged his mum, Ava told her to keep her dirty thoughts to herself.
"I don't know. I mean, we met this morning, so..." Lia replied, playing with the blanket.
"And?" Ava asked. Derek sees Lia smiling. He loves it when she smiles.
“I understand you, ma'am. I know you don't want your son with a married woman. We're just friends I guess..." Lia said, watching Derek out of the corner of her eye.
"But I think I feel something different when I..." Lia paused as she saw a figure pass through the open door.
"Who is that?" Lia asked, pointing to the figure that tiptoed through the room door.
"Who?" Ava asked curiously as she turned around.
"Sage?" Derek blurted out. Lia collects a strange feeling about the name Sage, she seems familiar with this name but it is the first time she hears the name after her resurrection.
Sage paused, put her hands behind her back, and hid the things she had stolen to complete her plan. "Hello, folks."
"You know Sage?" Ava asked Derek.
"Yes," Derek said as he approached Sage. Ava's jaw loosened and trembled. She felt like she was shrinking. "How did he meet Sage?" Ava wondered, she was so scared.
Ava walked up to Sage and pushed Derek aside. "Hey, I thought you were long gone."
"Yeah, I wanted to, but I got lost in this huge building." Sage chuckles.
"Okay?" Ava said stylishly, ushering Sage out of the house.
"I'd better be on my way." Sage grins and walks away, clinging to the stuff she's been hiding. Lia noticed a bead falling off Sage's clothing as she tried to run away.
"I have to escort this strange lady out. God knows what she's getting at. I've been getting suspicious of her lately. I hope she doesn't try anything bad with my Derek.” Ava whispers to herself as she walks out of Derek's room and shuts his bedroom door tightly.
Ava made sure to successfully follow Sage out of Donald's mansion.
"I don't think I'll ever say that to you, but thanks for your help," Ava said, waving goodbye.
Sage grins and walks away.
Ava breathed a sigh of relief, "Phew!"
She went into the mansion and bumped into Don. Don's face is flushed and his veins are throbbing in his neck.
Ava started.
"Hello, Don. What about that look?”
"Don't act as your you have only one question from you, and I ask nothing for the truth but the truth. Who fathered the children I serve, Ava?” Don's voice rose.
Ava's eyes widened, she never knew Don would find out, she was still planning how and when to tell him the truth, but it seems her little secrets have been exposed, and she looked down. She wanted to tell a lie, but when she saw Dyrus appearing behind Don with a smirk on his face, she knew everything was fully exposed.
"Ava, please tell me to my face that he's not your biological father?" Don said, pointing at Dyrus.
"Ava, his brother! Just tell me he lied. Please tell me it's not what I think it is.” Don said, looking into Ava's sea eyes.
“Ava, tell him the truth. He also needs to know that you broke your marriage with him by marrying that three-eyed monster. Don't forget to tell him that!” Dyrus said, laughing mentally.
"What? You married that man?" Don said, expecting an answer as he stared into her sea eyes, Ava's mouth trembling, she was mute.
"Answer me, Ava," Don yelled at her, trying to keep his fist from getting close to her.
"I tried to explain everything to you, but..."
Don interrupted her "but what? Sleeping around while I was gone wasn't enough, but my brother, my twin brother! Ava, I'm disappointed in you.” He bangs on the door and leans his head against it.
"I was forced into it," Ava murmured.
"One more lie from you and I'll kill you myself," Don yelled. His eyes were full of anger and fury, he was breathing heavily.
"Don, listen to my part of the story," Ava murmured, trying to calm him down, but she only made things worse.
"Ava!" Don yelled as he turned and raised his hand to slap her across the face. Ava shits her eyes with guilt.
