CHAPTER 13

SAM POV
As I walked down the big stairs in the lobby entrance. I quickly looked around the stylish area until I saw Alex sitting in the comfy seats of the waiting area. He looked confident and stylish, wearing a neat white shirt tucked into black pants. With his sleeves rolled up casually, he had a sophisticated charm that always caught my attention.
Walking towards him with a friendly smile, I couldn't help but admire how good-looking he was. The evening sunlight coming through the lobby's big windows seemed to move around him, making his strong features look even better.
"Hi," I said with a teasing tone, filled with affection. "You look great all dressed up, don't you?"
Alex's eyes twinkled playfully as he looked at me, a slight smile on his lips. "I do try to look good once in a while," he said, pretending to be modest.
Laughing softly, I settled into the cozy armchair next to him, enjoying our easygoing conversation. Even with the busy hotel lobby around us, there was a peaceful calmness in our time together, a feeling of happiness that only came from being with each other.
As we got ready for our evening, Alex looked at me with concern in his eyes. "Are you sure you're ready for tonight?" he asked, sounding genuinely caring. "You've been working a lot lately, and I know you need some time off."
I waved away his worry, though his words struck a chord with me. "I'll be okay," I told him with a smile, trying to ease his concerns. "And being with you is just what I need."
Happy with my answer, Alex nodded, radiating comfort. We both stood up and headed to the hotel's fancy restaurant, excitement filling the air.
Walking together towards the parking lot, I felt a deep sense of happiness. Alex's arm was linked with mine as we moved in harmony, our steps matching perfectly. Even as the busy lobby faded away.
"Where should we grab a bite?" I asked with a playful grin, breaking the peaceful quiet.
"It's a secret, just trust me," he said with a playful tone.
With a smile, I gently squeezed his arm, silently thanking him for always being there for me. We walked together towards the parking lot, looking forward to some rest and relaxation.
As we approached, I spotted someone standing at the edge of the parking lot, observing us. It was Mr. Buenaventura, the man I've been avoiding. I thought he had gone home. Why is he here, acting like a stalker? His intense stare met mine, giving me chills and making me wonder what he's up to.
As he left and disappeared into the darkness, I felt uneasy, wondering about his true identity and any connection to my past."What does he really want from me?"
With a sigh, I shook off the feeling of unease. As we reached Alex's car and prepared to leave, I couldn't help but glance back at Mr. Buenaventura, watching his figure fade into the darkness like a ghost of the night.
The drive home from the restaurant was quiet, with just the sound of the engine and occasional glances between Alex and me. Despite the calmness, I couldn't stop thinking about Mr. Buenaventura.
We arrived at one of the province's fanciest restaurants, renowned for its delicious food and classy atmosphere. As we entered, I couldn't help but admire the beautifully decorated inside, the dim lighting, and the quiet chatter around us, along with the gentle music from a corner of the room.
We were shown to a comfortable table in a corner, giving us a view of the whole restaurant. As we sat down, Kent reached across the table, holding my hand. "You did amazing today, Samantha," he said, sounding genuine. "I know it wasn't easy, but you handled everything really well."
His words made me feel happy, and I felt myself turning red under his look. "Thanks, Kent. That's really nice of you to say."
As we looked at the menu, I was amazed by the variety of delicious dishes available, each one showing off the skill of the chefs. From tasty seafood to juicy steaks, there were so many tempting options, promising a meal that would stay in my mind for a long time.
"So, how was your dad as your boss?" Kent asked, genuinely curious as he looked at me.
I smiled, feeling proud as I talked about my day. "It was tough, but worth it," I said, sounding determined. "Your dad is a tough boss, but I believe I can do it and show I deserve the job."
Kent nodded, showing he understood, with a look that showed he cared and thought highly of me. "I'm sure you'll do well," he said, sounding confident. "You're smart, capable, and more than able to deal with anything that comes up."
The waiter came back with our drinks, placing them on the table before disappearing into the restaurant again. As we lifted our glasses to each other, silently cheering for the future.
As the night went on, we enjoyed delicious food and great company, chatting easily about everything and anything. From joking around to sharing our deepest thoughts, our conversation flowed naturally, showing how close we were and how much we respected each other.
As time passed and the restaurant cleared out, I didn't want the night to end. Being with Kent made me feel like I belonged, accepted, and understood, filling my heart with warmth and happiness.
As we said goodbye to the restaurant and headed back to the car, the night felt alive with excitement. Sitting next to Kent as we drove through the city's streets, I felt thankful for the surprising path my life had taken.
As we got to my house and said goodbye, I realized this was just the start of an exciting journey ahead. With a smile and a promise to see each tomorrow.
