23. Special Episode Part Two

Berlin was still laughing and dragging Cologne towards the haunted house in the playground. Cologne tried to stop Berlin, but her efforts were in vain. “Berlin, I've had enough horror experiences today,” Cologne protested, but Berlin didn't care. He was still dragging Cologne, who was dying of exhaustion.
“Come on, Cologne! You don't want to miss this. After all, who's afraid of ghosts after dealing with me?” Berlin replied with a big smile. He showed a small section of his canine teeth.
They entered the haunted house. It was dark and full of creepy sounds. However, the creepiest part was how Berlin reacted to the fake ghosts there.
“What is this? Cheap makeup and ugly costumes! Even my lower-class servants have top-quality looks,” Berlin exclaimed when one of the ghosts appeared from behind the curtain.
Cologne could only sigh, already guessing where this was going. A demon who claimed to have an expensive title and sky-high self-esteem. It must have offended Berlin to see a creature of his ilk dressed not to his taste.
Berlin continued to curse every ghost that appeared. “Are you serious? Your face looks like a plastic surgery failure! I can't even spit in your face!” she exclaimed, pointing at one of the pale-faced ghosts.
Cologne tried to calm Berlin down, but Berlin became even more violent. When the demon clown appeared, Berlin almost attacked him. “You dare to show up with a face like that? You want to challenge me cheaply, huh?”
The demon clown, who felt humiliated, looked back at Berlin with a threatening look. Cologne, who was already really dizzy with this situation, finally dragged Berlin out of the haunted house.
After coming out, Berlin was still acting like an angry child. “Why did you kick me out? I almost taught that ugly clown a lesson!” Berlin protested.
“Because you almost got us kicked out of the playground! Do you know how hard it is to explain to the guards that a demon is angry at a fake ghost?” Cologne grumbled under her breath, trying to calm herself down. If she were to get emotional, it was obvious that this stupid argument would continue.
Berlin snorted, “Those ghosts deserve to be insulted. They make no effort at all to look scary. My eyes hurt to look at. Ah no... shouldn't I just ruin the eyes of those ghosts,” he said irritably.
Cologne massaged her temples, feeling her head hurt even more. “Alright, how about we try something that doesn't have the potential to cause a scene? How about a ride on the Ferris wheel?”
Berlin pondered for a moment, then nodded. “Alright, the Ferris wheel sounds like a good idea. As long as you promise not to scream like you did on the roller coaster.”
Cologne could only nod weakly, relieved that at least they wouldn't encounter any more ghosts or clowns which would definitely cause her emotions to rise to the surface.
They then walked towards the Ferris wheel and climbed into the gondola that moved slowly upwards.
After a while, things calmed down. Cologne could finally breathe a sigh of relief. “See? It's better, isn't it?” she asked as she gazed at the view of the playground from above.
Berlin nodded in agreement. “Yes, it's quite relaxing. At least my eyes won't sting and hurt when I see those ugly ghosts. Taking me inside a haunted house just makes me want to burn the place down.”
Cologne rolled her eyes lazily. But at least now that Berlin's attention had been diverted she felt better than ever, finally a bright spot in this chaotic day. “Maybe, just maybe, we can have some fun without making a mess.”
Berlin laughed sarcastically. “That's quite a challenge, but I'll try.” To be honest, Berlin himself wanted to mess up more. But since he had already made a promise to Jo, he had to comply and not make a scene for the sake of Cologne.
They enjoyed the rest of the ride on the Ferris wheel in peace, taking in the beautiful night view below. Cologne felt that this was a rare moment where she could truly feel at peace with Berlin. Perhaps, even though Berlin was a troublesome demon, there was another side to him that made him persist in cooperating with the demon.
However, at the end of the Ferris wheel ride, Berlin couldn't help commenting, “But seriously, that clown is really ugly.”
Cologne chuckled, it seemed like it would be very difficult to find peace with Berlin. “You really can't stop, can you?”
Berlin smiled broadly. “Of course, that's what makes me interesting, isn't it?”
Cologne nodded, this time her eyes seemingly fixed on Berlin. “Yes, that's right. You are interesting, Berlin. Very attractive. To the point that I always have a bad desire every time I see you,” she said with a sense of amusement.
They got off the Ferris wheel and walked out of the playground in a better mood. Maybe, just maybe, living with a demon wasn't always as bad as Cologne had imagined although clearly, she was going to be back to complaining pretty quickly after this.

Berlin was still smiling contentedly after their Ferris wheel ride. “You know what we need now? A nice dinner! I'll treat,” he said excitedly.
Cologne raised her eyebrows. “Treat? Are you sure this won't end in another mess?” Instead of feeling excited, Cologne felt overly suspicious of Berlin's invitation. You really shouldn't trust demons so easily and Cologne was used to that.
Berlin laughed. “Of course not! I promise we'll eat quietly this time.”
They then walked to a small restaurant near the playground. It looked warm and cozy, with an inviting smell of cooking. They sat down at a table and started ordering their food.
“I'll order the biggest steak they have!” said Berlin excitedly.
Cologne ordered something simpler, hoping that this time they could eat in peace. However, that hope was dashed as soon as the waiter arrived with their food. Berlin immediately started criticizing everything.
“This steak is overcooked! Did you cook it in the devil's landfill?” Berlin exclaimed, banging the table.
The waiter gasped in surprise. “Sorry, sir. Would you like us to replace it?”
“Replace? Even the demons in hell can cook better than this!” Berlin shouted, drawing the attention of the entire restaurant.
Cologne massaged her temples, feeling her head getting heavier. “Berlin, can we eat in peace for once?”
“Sure, if the food is decent! Look at this, these vegetables look like they've died twice!” Berlin picked up a piece of vegetable with a fork and looked at it with disgust. “Ewh... so disgusting I can't look at it,” he added.
The waiter tried to remain calm. “We'll replace it soon, sir.”
Berlin continued his complaints without stopping. Cologne could only sigh and try not to get carried away when she saw the mess Berlin was making. He knew there was no point in trying to calm Berlin down when he was acting like this.
Finally, the restaurant manager came to calm the situation. “Sir, we are very sorry for the inconvenience. Your meal is free tonight.”
Berlin smiled with satisfaction. “Finally someone understands. Next time, make sure your food is at least edible.”
Oh damn that asshole! He did it on purpose? Cologne thought in disbelief.
Cologne thanked the manager and the waiter. After finishing their drama-filled dinner, they walked out of the restaurant.
“What an unforgettable night,” Cologne said in a sarcastic tone.
Berlin burst out laughing. “You have to admit, this was more interesting than a normal dinner.”
Cologne nodded, this time with a small smile. “Yes, it is. Living with a demon like you is never boring. Of course, I can enjoy it for free because of your cheap tricks that I can't believe.”
“Humans are too stupid to be bullied just a little. That's why you have to honor me if you want to live well.”
“Before I die, I think I should pray to God to not send me to hell. I can't bear it if until the end, I have to be in the same place as you,” Cologne complained.
“Well... well. Do it, do it, just do it.” Berlin didn't care at all.
Eventually the two men walked home, though Cologne knew that this headache would probably come again. Maybe, just maybe, she was getting used to the chaos Berlin brought. But she wasn't even sure about that thought.
