19. The Ugliness of The Devil

"Gosh, those words of yours are spicy. I think I'm going to have to buy some internal medicine to clear my throat." Regen was a little shocked at Halb's words.

Halb just giggled at Regen's ridiculous words. It looks like today wasn't going to be too bad. Meeting someone fun like Regen was enough to cheer up his frantic mood.

The galbitang felt so warm in Regen's throat. Halb's scathing words had made his throat feel dry and a little sore. Fortunately, the beef rib soup managed to cure his throat pain.

"You seem to like it, Regen. But the soup is really good. It's been a long time since I've had anything this good," said Graiss.

Regen smiled, giving a thumbs up while showing a satisfied look on his face. "Of course it's delicious. I'm glad you like it." Regen then turned to Halb, who was enjoying his soup. "What do you think?" he asked curiously.

"It's good. It's quite satisfying," Halb replied calmly. He seemed to be enjoying the soup very much. "By the way, when I first came to Korea, galbitang was the first food I ate. It felt so nostalgic."

"Ou... really? I think it sounds good. Heh, I made the right choice to invite you guys to eat here." Regen proudly said this to Graiss and Halb.

Graiss only smiled, while Halb pouted slightly.

"Halb, can you cut down on the annoying words from your mouth a bit?" Regen was a bit overwhelmed by Halb.

Halb laughed in response, with a laugh that sounded mocking. He was too excited to tease Regen, not realizing that his pendant had fallen until Graiss picked it up.

"Halb, it looks like it fell out of your pocket." Graiss returned the pendant to Halb.

"It fell out; gosh, I didn't even realize it. I guess I was too eager to flirt with your uncle, Graiss." Halb took the pendant from Graiss' hand. "Thank you," she said sincerely. "By the way, would you like to see what's inside?" Halb asked.

Graiss nodded vigorously. To be honest, she was a bit curious about the contents of the pendant. But she didn't want to open it without the owner's permission. Mr. Lotto had taught her not to touch other people's things without their permission. Graiss strictly obeyed that message from Mr. Lotto.

"Look at this picture!" Halb excitedly showed a picture of himself with a woman.

"Wow, what a beauty. Is she your mother?" asked Graiss with admiration. The little girl was mesmerized by the beauty of the woman in the photo. "She's like a beautiful fairy who came out of a magical forest," she praised.

"Yes, this woman is my mother. She is known to be very beautiful, and many people are amazed by her extraordinary beauty," said Halb.

"Then may I meet your mother? I want to see her in person." Graiss was getting too excited now.

"Graiss, it's not nice like that!" rebuked Regen. The young man knew that Graiss' question was too sensitive.

"Sorry, I didn't mean it like that," Graiss regretted. The little girl immediately lowered her head.

Halb glared at Regen. "Tsk. She didn't mean to hurt; don't be so hard on her!" warned Halb. He then patted Graiss' head anxiously. "Never mind, I'm fine."

Regen sneered while Graiss hugged Halb tightly.

"Thank you, Halb," said Graiss.

"You're welcome. But unfortunately, Graiss, you can't meet my mother. She passed away when I was seven years old." Halb looked at Graiss for a moment. "I'm sorry I can't fulfill your request," he regretted.

"No, it's me who should apologize to you."

Regen, who saw all the dramatic scenes, just sighed heavily. But secretly, he was watching Halb. He felt that Halb was not just a stranger who would pass by in his life. At least that was what his intuition told him.

Deep in the enchanted forest, there lived a beautiful fairy named Lorelei Vacci. The fairy was known to have a very beautiful face. Lorelei Vacci, often referred to as Lova, is greatly admired by humans. Many humans want to meet her. But Lova is not a fairy who likes to show herself; Lova tends to stay away from humans; she is a very loner.

One day, the magical forest where Lova lived caught fire. The fairy was sad to find her home burned down. Lova, who had no place to live, went to the settlement. Arriving at the settlement, Lova was approached by an old man. Seeing Lova's extraordinary beauty, the old man was attracted to her. Without thinking, the old man tried to kidnap Lova.

The frightened Lova tried to run away. Sensing that Lova wanted to escape from him, the old man then broke the beautiful fairy's legs. After feeling that the fairy could not escape anymore, the old man then took Lova to his house. On the way back to his house, the old man was approached by a young stranger.

The stranger was wearing a long robe, so his face was not visible. The old man tried to ignore the young man. But who would have thought that the young stranger blocked him? Angry because he felt blocked, the old man then attacked the young stranger.

Who would have thought that the young stranger would immediately kill the old man? After he killed the old man, the young stranger helped Lova. The beautiful fairy then followed the young stranger. Lova even happily offered to devote herself to the young stranger. Since then, Lova has always been by the stranger's side. The stranger treated Lova like his own child. The two of them traveled the world together.

On one occasion, the young stranger deliberately did not take Lova with him for another adventure. The young stranger went to the enchanted forest that had once been Lova's home. The magical forest that had burned down was now slowly growing back with trees. Seeing the forest grow back made the young stranger want to send Lova back to where he came from. The forest was evidence of the young stranger because it was the young stranger who had burned down Lova's previous home. The stranger deliberately burned down the forest where Lova lived, just to satisfy his curiosity about the story of a beautiful, solitary fairy who lived in the forest.

Regen frowned slightly as Fallen forced him to tell the story. Regen did not want to do what Fallen wanted.

"It's useless for you to cover up. I know that you have met someone behind my back," Fallen snapped.

Regen swallowed his saliva. It was useless to cover things up behind Fallen's back. In the end, that person always got it right.
