22. Weird Answer

Regen swallowed his saliva with difficulty. His body could not move; it felt as if it were numb. Half-dead, he tried to move it, but it felt increasingly stiff and difficult to move.

The shadow opened its mouth and let its vacuum cleaner-like mouth suck everything into its body.

Regen rebelled as his body was almost dragged inside. He did not know what to do. It was as if there was a huge wind trying to suck him in.

No matter how hard he tried, in the end, Regen himself felt unable to fight it anymore. His legs couldn't even hold his weight anymore. Not wanting to give up, Regen tried to scream for help to save himself. But for all his power, his voice did not come out. This was incredibly horrible. The shadow even made him mute. Regen was sure he had tried his best, trying to shout out his soprano voice. But in reality, he was unable to make a single sound from his mouth.

Who was this strange and terrifying shadow figure? Was he the embodiment of a demon from hell?

He couldn't hold himself back anymore. In the end, Regen was sucked into the dark shadow's mouth. Regen prayed in his heart that he would be given a chance to survive.

***

Regen opened his eyes slowly. Many times, the young man blinked his eyes, trying to recover his vision. His head still felt incredibly dizzy, and he had no idea what had happened. The only thing he remembered was when he was met by a dark, shadowy figure and sucked into his mouth. After that, he didn't know anything else.

"Where am I?" Regen looked around him. He found a white tiled floor, walls painted white as well, and a strong hospital smell. Regen slowly tried to understand his current situation, and he realized that he was in a hospital.

The room where Regen was currently sitting was so dark. There was only one light. The lighting was only bad. The atmosphere in the room was also very cold.

"How is the world out there?" A woman's voice came from nowhere, sounding like she was asking a question to be answered.

Regen didn't know if the question was asked of him or not. But clearly, Regen immediately tried to find the origin of the voice. As if guided to find the origin of the voice, Regen then followed the guidance to find the source.

"Is it so bright out there?" Again, the voice asked a question to be answered. The voice sounded sad, implying that the owner of the voice sounded so desperate for his own life.

Is he here? Regen said to himself. Regen stood right in front of a dark gray door. His hand reached out to open the door knob. A sense of doubt arose for a moment in his heart; for some reason, like something stuck in his heart, it suddenly appeared. She hesitated but tried to brace herself. But unfortunately, the action was stopped just like that when he again heard a question issued.

"What made you dare to step inside here? Are you sure and fully confident in yourself?" The question was asked again.

Hearing that question asked managed to make Regen feel even more doubtful. He began to distrust himself. The fear that he had been harboring deep inside made him feel scared again. He hated this feeling. The feeling that he always tried to bury deep in the bottom of his heart

But if she forever lived in this fear, wouldn't that mean she had thrown away her life's passion? No! Don't let this fear try to destroy the life he had fought so hard for. For Regen, he had fought to the death to live has today. To him, he had the right to face that fear with great confidence rather than giving up and falling deeper into the pit of despair.

Despite the fear, the lack of courage, the lack of confidence, and the disappointment of everything expected, Regen never intended to stop halfway. He always prayed to God to make him stronger than before. He just wanted to try to believe and be himself.

In the end, reality was always in front of his own eyes. It could not be denied.

Regen opened the door and went inside. He saw a very thin woman with a pale face and a depressing aura that was so dense that it covered the woman's figure.

"You finally chose to go inside," the woman said in a voice that sounded haggard.

Seeing the woman's condition, Regen felt sad. The woman was really in a pitiful condition. She seemed to be on the edge.

"Who are you?" Regen walked up to the woman, crouching down in front of her.

"I'm part of one of these games," she replied enigmatically. She did not reveal her identity but rather answered him with a strange answer filled with mystery.

Regen's brow furrowed. He tried to understand the woman's strange answer. "Why are you here?"

The woman smiled faintly. "Because I am one of the key pieces you seek and need."

The enigmatic answer seemed to beckon Regen to understand it well. Unfortunately, it was not a clear answer. There were other clues he needed to understand the answer's true meaning.

"I know you must be confused by all the answers I gave you. I want to give you one clue." The woman pointed with her finger toward a picture frame that looked old and dusty. The picture frame was not far from the woman's figure, sitting on a fragile old table.

Regen followed the woman's instructions. He approached the fragile old table to look at the picture frame. There, he found a photo of a boy with a wide smile on his face. The boy looked very happy and sweet. Seeing that boy made Regen want to protect that innocent smile.

"He's your son?"

The woman only smiled slightly. She then told Regen to come back closer to her. Regen immediately followed the woman's request and came closer to her.

"If one day you meet that child, Please convey my message to him. Tell him that I love him more than my own life. Please tell her that. I beg you." The woman then kissed Regen's forehead briefly. "I am truly grateful to you. I hope you also find happiness in yourself. I pray sincerely for you," she said, filled with sincerity.
