“Who are you? What are you doing that night?” I looked at the ground and remained silent. The officer was questioning me to get my statements. “M-My name is Sammy Morgan, I'm their daughter,” I responded. Beads of sweat are dripping at the side of my head. The officer wrote something on his paper. I whispered, “I'm talking to my dad that time because I can't sleep, and I felt thirsty that night, I went to the kitchen, and I saw him sipping his tea.” “We are talking about the tea, and while I'm drinking the water, our window suddenly broke with a hole on it, and when I glanced at my father his chest was already bleeding,” I stated. “And then? We recognized the bullet from the sniper, do you see the face of the killer?” I shook my head, and hold my temple. “No, when I looked at the window, and at the rooftop of the neighbor's house,” I stated. The officer nodded, and he wrote all the statements that I'd said. After an hour or more, they let me go outside to breathe and unwind my horrible experiences. While I walking in the corridor, I dialed Harvey's number, after a few seconds of ringing, he answered the phone. “Harvey? Are you busy? If not, please, let's meet at the pizza shop,” I murmured between the other line. He gasped, and he answered that he's going to the pizza shop right now. I gulped and cleared my throat. I began to walk away from this building and went to the pizza shop that I've mentioned earlier. I scanned the whole place until I noticed a familiar face. He stood up and went out to hug me. “How are you? I heard about your father, I'm sorry for that, but I'm here, you can cry on my shoulder, I will listen to you,” he whispered while hugging me. I bit my lips to hold back my tears and gulped a couple of times because there's a lump inside of my throat. My shoulder slumped, and a sudden difficulty in swallowing. He gently pats my shoulder and looked at me. “Let's go inside the shop? I'm going to order some pizza for us,” he said. He holds my hand and pulled me into the shop. The people turned their heads and glanced at the people who went inside of their shop. We go back to his vacant table, and he went to the counter to order something to eat. I put my head on the table and covered my face using my arms. I couldn't stop myself from sobbing, this time, I lost my second father. I don't know if I should go, or stop, because I think, I will reach my limit. Those tears never stop flowing from my eyes. How many times do I have to suffer like this? I know I have a lot of sin, and I'm not a good person in the first place. However, I know, I changed a lot for the good, but it seems like I'm not done suffering from my consequences, and punishments. Do I deserve to suffer like this? Do I deserve to lose my parents? I'm not perfect, but I can promise that I will do anything just to be a good person. A sudden outburst of anger and sorrow is creating inside of my heart. I felt like someone sat in front of me, and put some tray at the table. The person quietly moved and took a breath. “I don't know if you'd still remember it, but you should go on, and move for the future, don't let yourself be inside the cage of the past,” he advised. I'm still covering my eyes while the tears are streaming down, I can't control my sobs, and it feels like it's flowing on its own. I wiped away my tears and sat properly on the chair. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly. I decided to lean my back and closed my eyes to calm my system. He sliced some pizza and put it on his plate. He poured some juices on the mug and began to take a bite to the pizza. He served the slice of pizza to my plate. I stared at the food for a moment and remained silent. He glanced at me and observed what will I'm going to do with the food. “It's not going to move if you just keep staring at it, it will not going to walk, or jump onto your mouth,” he chatted. Beads of sweat are dripping, and my other eye was still streaming some tears. He offered me his handkerchief. “Hey, you need to eat so you can gain some energy, and your hunger will be gone.” I glanced at him with a wary eye. “I'm tired,” I whispered while looking at the table. I heard a heavy sighed from him. He stood up and went to the counter. I followed him by my sight, and he talked to other staff, and the staff nodded. After a few minutes, he's holding a paper bag and a box. He walked back to our table, and he put all the foods inside of the box, and the paper bag. He drank his juice, and he put a cap on my juice container. I'm just watching him, I don't know why, but I felt like my energy was gone, and I'm drained. I couldn't help myself but feel anxious about everything. “Let's go, follow me,” he announced. He stood up while holding all the paper bags, and a box in the right hand, and the juice was on the left. I stood up and followed him when he began to walk. I remained silent. We reached his car, and he put all the food inside of the car, and he opened the door at the passenger seat. He looked at me and gave me the sign to sit inside the car. I shrugged my shoulder and took a heavy sigh. When I was already inside the car, he immediately walked to the side and opened the door of the driver's seat. He starts the engine, while I'm looking at the front of the car. “Hey,” he muttered. I didn't respond to him or glance at him. “Listen, I know you're in your darkest days, and I don't have to put my nose on your confidential life, and I didn't know anything about what happened that night, but you need to keep going,” he said with a sincere voice. My eyes were welled up in tears once again, and I keep wiping it away. However, I can't stop it. My heart is aching, and my mind couldn't accept it. If ever I saw the culprit, maybe the happenings will not be like this. Any moment, they can capture the suspect behind this, and maybe, he or she is suffering at the jail right now. What if I caught the culprit? What if I block the bullet? What if I'm the one who was hit by the bullet? Maybe, something will change, and maybe it's good if that's happened.
