Homepage/The Billionaire's Substituted Bride/
21
I decided not to think much about Mira or Damien, instead, I got myself into the bathtub and had a long nice bath to strengthen my tired body. I made sure to play a song and hummed along with it. I got out of the bathroom after a while and got dressed in bum shorts and a crop top.
I picked up my phone from the table and sat on the bed to wait for my package. While I waited, I surfed through the internet; the news about my marriage, I mean Olivia's marriage to Nathan Campbells had taken over the internet. While a lot of people commend Olivia's beauty which is mine, there were still people who thought that I wasn't classic enough for him.
They had dug into Olivia's social handles and took some of her pictures where she looked so natural. They complained about me being fake; that got me laughing. Some even went ahead to compare me to Olivia saying Nathan would have been better off with me than her.
Despite a lot of people bashing out on Olivia, some still supported her. They accused me of not being happy for my twin which explains why I wasn't present at the wedding. As I read through the comments, a lot ran through my mind.
Would it have been different if Olivia had not run away and I was present as myself at the wedding? I wondered. Would they still accuse me of not being happy for her and that is the reason I wasn't her maid of honor or among her bridal train?
I wasn't that bothered about the comments but I could not help but think of how it would have played out if everything had gone the way they were initially planned.
I went on to read the comments and was tempted at some point to reply to them. I soon got bored and decided to watch a movie.
But what is a movie without pizza and alcohol?
It's been over an hour and there is no news about my package's arrival. I decided to text Lucy and ask what was going on but the knock on the door made me change my mind. I knew that was Mira.
My package must be here. I thought.
"You can come in."
Mira opened the door and walked in. In her hands were two pizza boxes placed on another box. I smiled. Now I can watch my movie while enjoying my pizza and alcohol.
"Your package," Mira said. "I will drop them on the table."
I nodded. "Thank you."
"Is there anything else you want?"
I shook my head. "No. You can leave."
"I will be a few rooms away. You can get through to me using the telecom." She pointed to the desk phone on the dressing table.
I stared at it. I had noticed it when I got out of the bathroom but I wasn't sure of the reason why it was kept on the table; now I know.
"I will. Thank you."
Mira left and I stood up quickly to unpack the package. My lips curved into a smile. Lucy and Claire had not only gotten my favorite pizza but also two bottles of my favorite alcohol. I placed one bottle into the refrigerator; that will be for another day. I took a cup and placed it on the table. I set up my movie theater and then poured some alcohol into the cup. I sat in a comfortable position and with a slice of pizza in my hand and a bite in my mouth, I began my adventure.

I opened my eyes quickly with the ray of light from the sun shining brightly on my face. I felt very uncomfortable on the couch; I groaned slightly.
How did I end up sleeping on the couch? I wondered. Did I get drunk again?
I sat up rubbing my eyes.
"Good morning ma'am," I heard and I stared at the person who had spoken.
It was a young lady; she should be in her early twenties if I am not mistaken. She was dressed in a black suit jacket and skirt; a short one that looked like the one worn by an air hostess.
I stared at her trying to remember if I had seen her before but I couldn't.
"Sorry, who are you? What are you doing in my room? Did my mom send you here?"
"I am Mira. Do you not remember me?" She answered.
I furrowed my brows. "Mira? Am I supposed to remember you?"
She sighed. "Did you get yourself drunk?" She pointed at the table.
I stared at her. She just spoke to me like she knew me.
Did I get too drunk to remember who she was?
I stared at the table containing two empty bottles of alcohol and two empty pizza boxes. My phone was still hung on the video stand indicating I must have fallen asleep while watching a movie. I tried to remember what had happened but I couldn't;
I groaned. How come I don't remember anything?
The room had also become unfamiliar to me; I could tell it wasn't my room though it had great similarities with it. My head was banging so hard. I whined slightly.
She stretched a bottle to me. "I brought you a hangover drink."
I took the bottle from her and muttered a thank you before gulping the contents of the bottle down my throat. I felt a bit better and I could not help but thank her for the second time.
"But how did you know I need this?" I raised the bottle.
"I brought in the alcohol for you. You do not remember?"
I nodded my head. "I do not seem to remember anything. Can you please tell me what is going on?" I said.
"Yesterday you got married and you were brought here. Do you remember?" She asked.
I blinked. Yesterday was Olivia's... I mean me, as Olivia's wedding. I remember Damien bringing me to Nathan's mansion. Slowly but not too slowly, I began to remember everything that had happened.
I sighed. Now I understand why this room looks and feels different.
"I am sorry, Mira. I got drunk and..."
"You don't have to be sorry and you owe me no explanation. Are you ready to take your bath?" I nodded and she smiled. "I will get that done but I have to clear the table first. Mr. Damien might be here soon."
I smiled. "Thank you, Mira."
She smiled but said nothing. I stood up to use the restroom while Mira cleared up the table. When she was done, she went into the bathroom to make my bath while I headed to my closet to pick out the clothes I would be wearing.Download Novelah App
