26. Self-empowering Challenges

One day, while they were sitting by the same lake as usual, Regen suddenly felt something was different. He saw a light shining on the surface of the lake water, like the reflection of moonlight on a clear night.

"Maybe this is the sign I've been looking for," Regen murmured, smiling slightly.

Graiss looked at him attentively. "What do you mean?"

Regen replied, "It is possible that these strange dreams of mine are a form of message from myself, from my subconscious. And perhaps the answer lies within myself, in the deepest place."

Graiss nodded, understanding what Regen was trying to say. "So, you think there is something you want to tell yourself through these dreams?"

Regen nodded firmly. "I think so. Maybe I should reflect more and realize the feelings and thoughts I've been keeping inside. Maybe there are unanswered questions, or fears I need to overcome."

Graiss smiled proudly at her friend. "I'm sure you can do it, Regen. You are strong and filled with courage. I will always support you in every step you take."

Regen smiled and grasped Graiss' hand tightly. "Thank you, Graiss. I'm very lucky to have a friend like you."

That night, after returning home, Regen sat in silence, quieting his mind and reflecting on himself. He realized that the answers he was looking for were within himself, and perhaps now was the right time to answer the questions that had been haunting him.

Regen learned to listen to his heart more clearly. He faced the fears and doubts that had been preventing him from fully recognizing himself. The journey is not easy, but with Graiss' support and his strong determination, Regen feels closer to the answers he seeks.

In his room, Regen was pensive again. He thought a bit about how he could find out more about this troubling issue in his mind.

"Isn't this too horrible? I feel like I'm being haunted by something vague. I don't know what this is," Regen muttered in frustration. He ruffled his hair then let his body fall back on the bed.

Slowly his drowsiness began to kick in. It wasn't long before he fell asleep.

"Where am I?" Regen felt confused and astonished as he looked around. He had no idea why he was suddenly in a white room.

This white room was wide and spacious. There was nothing in there, only himself in the room.

KRIEEET

The only door in the room opened. It revealed the figure of a person dressed in white and wearing a mask with a wide smile on his face.

"You?!" The person looked surprised, he approached Regen's figure and looked very hurried.

Regen himself who felt uncomfortable with this person, seemed to take a step back. As he stepped back the person suddenly stopped as well.

The person's hand then stretched out as if to reach Regen.

Regen slightly moved away when he saw the person's hand was about to reach him.

"Who are you?" Regen looked at the person sharply, he felt uneasy about his mysterious presence.

"I don't need to answer that," the person said.

"Answer me!" demanded Regen not to be outdone.

The masked figure took off his mask, then threw his mask as far as possible. And as soon as the mask came off, a familiar figure appeared in Regen's eyes.

"You're ...." Regen was surprised to find the figure.

"I had expected this to happen," the person said coldly. "In the end, I will still meet my other self in this world," he said.

"Impossible."

"This is the truth." The person stared at Regen intently. "Tell me, what is your name?"

Regen furrowed his brow. "Regen," he answered. But suddenly when he said his name his head felt so heavy. He felt like he was looking back at himself in the past or, more precisely, his childhood. Where as a child, he stood alone in the rain, with nowhere to go home to.

The person smiled sadly. "Apparently you still share a resemblance with me. Even your name means rain like mine. It turns out that I, in another world, even have a name that means sadness. Isn't it enough that I alone have the name Rain? Ah... I feel both annoyed and jealous," she said.

"I don't understand where you're going with this. If you want, would you tell me about all the weirdness that's going on right now?" Regen hoped that the person, whose name seemed to be Rain, would help him.

"Unfortunately no. You don't need to know anything. For me finding you has already given me a good answer, as well as another possibility." The person shook his head.

"You shouldn't let others have this kind of trouble. Are you crazy?" Regen scolded.

The man remained silent. But suddenly he walked closer to Regen. Making the distance between him and Regen even thinner.

"You'd better shut up. You don't even deserve to talk with that mouth." The person then took the scalpel he kept in his pocket and stabbed Regen quickly.

To Regen's surprise, the knife managed to land smoothly in his stomach.

"At least this will be a warning for you to be more careful. Remember this one thing, from now on I will be the most beautiful terror in your life!" After stabbing Regen's stomach the man then swung the knife again and stabbed Regen's other limbs.

Regen was in pain and slowly his consciousness faded away, until finally he could see nothing in his darkening vision.

"REGEN... REGEN... REGEEEN!" Graiss shook the young man's body frantically. He was frightened as soon as he saw the sleeping Regen, suddenly his mouth was bleeding.

"REGEN, PLEASE WAKE UP!" Graiss cried as Regen did not wake up.

"Uhuk... uhuk... uhuk... uhuuuuuk!" Regen's eyes suddenly opened wide. The young man could feel intense pain throughout his body.

"Regen, gosh, what's wrong with you? Why is your mouth bleeding when you're asleep?" Graiss panicked and tried to check on Regen. "Should I call an ambulance for you?"

Regen who was still in a semi-conscious state tried to think calmly. He caught his breath. After that he felt very surprised when his hand touched his face, he accidentally found his hand filled with blood.

"Regen did you hear me?" Graiss, who felt that Regen had not answered her for a long time, felt uneasy. "Are you okay?"

Regen gave Graiss a glance. And she only replied that she was fine. He tried to get up but his body, especially his stomach, felt very painful.
