Dark In Disguise
The next day, Dahee sends the girl back to her house.
"This is my apartment…I'll enter now, thank you for taking care of me~" she bowed and Dahee bowed at her back.
"No problem, said that you're with me yesterday so your parents don't worry" she said and the girl smiled at her.
"Ah! I forgot about one thing!" she said.
"Hmm?"
The girl takes out a cute necklace but it looks more like a pendant to her.
"I want to give you this~" she said and handed over the pendant to Dahee. There's a beautiful stone with four 3 colors in it, blue, yellow and red.
"Thanks~ this is so stunning, I'll take care of it!" Dahee put it on her neck.
"Glad to hear that~ one more thing, can you say to the man who has the same pendant as mine, I love him so much and…told him to not blame himself. I am always by his side…" she said.
"Sure, who's that—" she stopped.
"Man…" Dahee was about to ask until the girl was suddenly lost from her sight in one blink.
"Girl? Where are you?!" she called but there's no response. Then, Dahee giggled.
"Silly soul…" she held the necklace while smiling and walked away.
While she was walking back, Dahee accidentally hit the shoulder of a man.
"Ouh I'm sorry!!" Dahee said while helping him pick up books.
"It's okay~" he replied and Dahee immediately realized the pendant that the man was wearing.
"Umm, your pendant, it's cute~" she said.
"Ouh! Thank you~" he said.
"Is it from a little girl?" Dahee bravely asked.
"Huh?" the man was quite shocked to hear it and giggled.
"Yeah, it's from my late younger sister, she made it for me 10 years ago…" his voice became sorrowful.
"Ouh, I'm sorry…" Dahee said, even though she knew it.
"It's okay, it's my fault anyway…"
"You know…your sister told me to say to you that she loved you so much and don't blame yourself…"
"What?" he frowned.
"She gave me this pendant, and told me to not blame yourself for her death" Dahee showed the pendant and he giggled with sad eyes.
"She loves to give people a pendant, only me who'll always refuse to have it…now, I always wear it…" he held his pendant.
"She didn't regret having a brother like you even though she said you're kinda annoying~" Dahee told him and he closed his eyes, a tear drop from his eyes.
"If only I can apologize to her right before she closed her eyes…" he looked away with a faded smile.
Out of the blue, Dahee saw the little girl with 2 men beside her that looked like the kidnappers.
"Of course, it's an angel~" her heart whispered.
"She said that she'll always be by your side…she's here to hear that…" Dahee smiled and turned around to give him a place.
"Gina-ssi…I'm very sorry, I was very ego until I said those things to you, I'll never gonna see your face again and I regret it for the rest of my life, I even wear the pendant that you made for me…I hope that you'll forgive me…" his voice was cracked and the tears can't be hide anymore.
Meanwhile, Dahee shed her tears too while hearing his confession. It reminds her of Daehyun and Daejin.
Then, he could feel something was hugging him from the back.
"I forgive you, oppa~" a voice that is familiar to him. When he turned around, there's nothing that he could see but he could feel that she was very near to him.
He smiled and sighed, the guilt suddenly disappeared from his heart.
"Thank you, Gina…" he said and wiped his tears.
Dahee turned around after wiping her tears.
"Thank you…" he said at Dahee.
"You're welcome~" Dahee smiled.
Then, he walked away but Gina's soul still stood and looked at Dahee, smiled at her.
"Thank you eonnie!" she said.
"Rest in peace~" Dahee said and three of them slowly disappeared from her sight.
When returns back, she cried behind the door. Not gonna lie but she missed her brothers. If both of them died, they would never be able to get reincarnated and that's the moment when her life wasn't worth anything.
"I missed you…" she hugged her legs and cried.

The next day, Dahee was waking up and heard something in the kitchen.
She was about to attack that person until she saw it was Jihwan doing breakfast. With lots of happiness, she hugged him from the back.
"Yah, chill…I'm still cooking~" he said.
"Mianhae~ but I miss you~" she said.
"You do?" he asked and she nodded.
"Can I have a kiss?" she pouted.
"I'm still cooking and go to shower, you stinky~" he pinched her nose.
"Auch! It's not that I never give you a good morning kiss!" she stomped her feet and walked away.
After showering, Dahee saw that Jihwan already served everything on the table and it made her excitedly want to taste the cook.
"It smells good~" she said.
"Since when it's not~" he said and she frowned but ignored it.
They ate breakfast happily and then washed the dishes.
…
"Jihwan, can we—" Dahee stopped after seeing the way Jihwan sat was quite different than always.
He used to never put his feet on the table as he said it was dirty but this time, it was the opposite way of him.
"Are you saying something?" he asked.
"N-nothing…let's watch something!" she said.
"Let's watch a horror movie!" he suggested and Dahee was surprised as he never wanted to watch it before.
"Sure!"
Both of them were enjoying the movie and Dahee tried to hug him but he kept moving away and wrapped his arms.
They awkwardly watch the movie and don't feel any scary moments but feel distance between each other.
"Jihwan…" she called.
"Hmm?"
"Do you still remember the gift that I gave you two days ago?" she asked.
"Gifts? Y-yeah! It's so perfect darling~" he said, suddenly acting sweet towards her.
Dahee was faking her smile as she never gave him any gifts.
"Then, let's play truth or dare!" she said.
"Okay!" he replied
"Truth or dare?" she asked.
"I chose dare~" he said.
"I dare you to draw something on your face!" she pointed.
"Okay…" he goes and takes a pen, then draws a whisker on his face.
"Aww, cute kitten~" she patted his head.
"Meow~" he said.
"Truth or dare~" he asked.
"I'm not a little chicken! I chose to dare!" she said.
"I dare you to put the pendant on the table…" he pointed at the pendant that Dahee was wearing.
"What? That's easy?" she easy.
"Yeah, I'm a simple person…"
"Okay~" she took off the pendant and put it on the table.
"I choose truth…" he immediately chose.
"So fast?" she asked and he raised his eyebrows.
"Okay, I asked you one simple question…would you die for me?" she asked.
"Of course, with all of my heart and soul, I would die even in your hands…" he said.
Dahee widened her eyes and her hesitation became bigger. That's not what she wants to hear. Has he forgotten?
"Are you sure that's the answer?" she asked.
"Yeah, I'm very sure~" he held her hands.
"Good…" she said while her mind was already nowhere. Thinking about what happened to the code that only both of them knew.
"Then, can we go to sleep now?" he asked.
"Yeah, I'm sure you're tired" Dahee faking her smile and walking to her bedroom. Her heart was pounding hard and she suddenly felt unsafe and something wasn't right at the moment.
"Maybe I should ask him tomorrow…" her heart whispered.
That night, Dahee felt a bit curious and decided to sneak into Jihwan's room from his window. She flies from her window and sneaks a bit from the window's room.
But unfortunately, the curtains were closed and she couldn't see it…wait a minute, she has demonic eyes isn't she? Dahee tries to look using her power but it's still the same result, nothing can be seen.
"Was his curtains too thick until I can't look through into his room? Or was my eyes broken?" she mumbled.
"This is such a waste of my time, I'll just ask him tomorrow…" Dahee was giving up and returned to her room.
The next day, Dahee woke up and saw him leave a note on her table.
“Dahee-ya~, I'll go to work first okay? See you tonight~”
She put the note and went to the kitchen, cooking breakfast for herself and suddenly saw his bag on the couch.
"Are you clumsy or something, Jihwan-ssi?~" she giggled.
Dahee dresses up and goes to his workplace. Once she arrived at the main lobby. Suddenly, someone hit her shoulder slightly.
"Ouh sor—" the woman was about to finish her sentence until she saw Dahee.
"Dahee?" she said.
"Soomin-ssi…"
"What are you doing here?" she asked.
"I was going to give him his bag…" Dahee showed the bag.
"What nonsense are you talking about? Jihwan wasn't here, he's outstation…" Soomin said.
"Huh? But he just returned yesterday…"
"No, he didn't…I know him well and he'll never leave his work early. When he said that he'll go for a week, he'll never take a leave except if there's something important…" she said arrogantly.
"Okay chill, I just said though, for what you need to tell me that you know him well?" Dahee chuckled.
"Just because you already got Jihwan in your hands, doesn't mean that I'll not take him from you…" she walked near to Dahee.
"Ouh Soomin-ssi~ I love your courage~ but he's already mine and you're not my opponent~" she smiled.
"You— what makes you think that he'll love someone like you huh? Maybe because of your face I guess~" she mocked Dahee.
"If you think that he loves me because of my appearance, then you should know that you're not match his standard or he'll already choose you over me isn't it?" Dahee whispered to her ear.
Soomin widened her eyes while Dahee just walked away leaving Soomin with unexpected words from her.
"I meant what I said…" she mumbled and returned home.
…
"This is so confusing…why did he say that he'll go to work if he wasn't at the workplace?" her heart whispered.
"Maybe he's cheating?!" Dahee widened her eyes and shook her head.
"No no…he said that he wouldn't, why would he lie right?" she tries to think positive while she can before the overthink takes place in her mind and plays with her feelings.
Suddenly, she saw the old lady on the bench at the playground.
"Ahjumma!" she called from far away.
"Ouh, it's you, young lady~" she said while smiling at her.
"What are you doing here?" she asked.
"I'm just having my peace time…" the old lady said.
"It's good to have a peaceful time right?" Dahee lowered her head.
"What happened?" she asked, knowing that Dahee had a problem.
"I…my boy— husband, he's been quite weird these past few days and I don't know how to ask. I'm afraid that he'll get mad at me…" Dahee said.
"Your husband? What happened to him? You got into problems with him?"
"No…we are just fine but I don't feel like I was actually with him…" Dahee expressed.
"Since when did he become like that?"
"Since he returned back from his outstation…"
"Maybe you want to ask…even if you're scared, why don't you give it a try? Sometimes, we as females just overthink about it too much~" she smiled.
"Did you think that was the best?"
"That's what I think and if you have any other questions, I was very glad to answer it~"
"Thank you~" Dahee hugged her.
"No problem, darling. It's my job anyway…"
After saying goodby to the old lady, Dahee returned back and saw Jihwan was sitting at the couch watching the TV.
"Where are you just now?" she asked.
"I was working…" he said without looking.
"You're lying…Soomin said that you're not in the office and I don't even see Soohyuk today. Tell me the truth, Jihwan…" she becomes so serious.
"Are you hesitant about me?" he suddenly asked.
"Yeah of course! I don't know where you have been and you lied to me! Of course I'm hesitant about you!" she throws the bag aside.
"Don't you love me anymore? Why don't you trust me? Did you think that I'll lie to you?" he asked, caressing her hair.
"I…of course I still love you, just…I'm also curious where you have actually been…" she held his hands, trying to gain his trust.
"I'm really working okay?~ I'm just working outside of the office today~" he gently touched her cheek.
"If you said so…then, I'll trust you…" she said, looking him in the eyes. There's a feeling that shakes her body.
"Thank you Dahee~ now, I'll go showering, okay?~" he said.
"Okay…" she said.
After dinner, nothing happened and they just got to sleep but in the middle of the night, Dahee was waking up because she felt thirsty.
When she was about to step out of the bedroom, an unknown fear suddenly crawled up all over her body and she felt really scared.
"What's this feeling, I can't even step out…" her heart whispered. With force, she tried to walk out to the kitchen with a flashlight.
She was too scared to go to the switch buttons.
"I'll just grab a glass of water…" she mumbled and suddenly, a slight touch was felt on her shoulder.
She turned around and there's nothing except the darkness around her. The goosebumps suddenly felt and overthinking started to take over her mind.
When Dahee was about to walk a few steps forward, she saw someone standing in the darkness, a few meters from her. The face couldn't be seen and he didn't move.
"Jihwan?" she called and there's no reaction. Once she blinked, there's nothing as that person had already vanished from her sight.
The fear that she felt was getting bigger and she couldn't continue to walk anymore until a whisper suddenly echoed in her ears.
"You must die…" it says.
"Don't scare the shit out of me! I'm a demon and I can burn you!" she said with all of her heart.
The night got silent again and Dahee didn't feel like wanted to grab the water anymore. She ran back to her bedroom but in a second, a demon was standing in front of her.
"Hello darling~" Hilux was standing in front of her and she fell on the floor.
"Scared?" he mocking.
"What are you doing here?!!!" she turned into a demon and was ready to burn him.
"I'm here to replace your boyfriend's place~ don't you remember?" he asked.
"So it's been you all this time…"
"Of course it was me~ you don't even know about your own boyfriend~ why don't you be mine instead~" he whispered again.
"No, even if I need to die!!" she swung her whip to him but he dodge it well and cut it.
"What a pathetic move…" he said followed by his evil laugh.
Dahee tries to bait him out of the house and they fight in the air, under the full moon that witnessed that night.
"You broke into my house and pretended to be Jihwan!!" she yelled at him.
"So, what are you gonna do about it? Hmm? Chop me into thirteen?" he laughed.
"I'll burn you right before you raise up your sword!" she said.
"We'll see…"
Both of them fight until there's one point where she needs to take a deep breath before continuing.
"What happened? Need more oxygen?" he mocked.
"Well, you need more life…" she replied and suddenly, she felt so dizzy until it was spinning around her head.
"Can't we continue tomorrow? You look sick~" he whispered in her ears.
"Don't talk to me!" she said and swung her whip but everything went blurred and she almost fainted but luckily, there's one bright light that made her gain her own consciousness.
"Don't touch something that you don't need to, Hilux" it says and Hilux was very mad but he can't attack the things.
Dahee took the chance to run away but he realized it and shot her with his dark magic, luckily the potion that Jihwan secretly gave to her worked and stopped it from touching her skin.
But the second attack wasn't safe anymore as it was shot right at her weak spot, the middle of wings, her back bone and she fell.
"Argh…" Dahee whined in pain and saw someone's foot in front of her.
"Enough of hide and seek, let's play catch and kill…I have caught you and you'll die~" he said.
Before he touched her skin, a white magic string was pulling him from being near to Dahee.
"ARGHHH!!! LET ME GO!!!" he yelled.
It keeps grabbing every single part of Hilux tightly until he can't move anymore because it is slowly burning by it.
"Go…" a slight voice was heard by Dahee and she flew away, went to the palace with no choices.Download Novelah App
