Chapter 19: Team Trials 2.

A whole week has passed, we really were doing a great job in our task, Davis has been hilarious, even, he's the influencial figure in the event, he has taken the trials by storm and is showing to be in the leading role like one in his prime.
He's still 20, both of us got a lot of years ahead of us and I can tell that a lot of improvement is yet to come, but everyone can see the gem in Davis, the way he controls the pitch, the way he instruct his teammates to play better, pointing to them on a role they should play which would benefit them.
Just like he did back there on the street game, everything is under control as far as his teammate listens to him, but one thing is not there, one of the most important of all, he can't be taught. Yeah, Davis might be a baller, everyone sees that, but when it comes to instructions, he doesn't follow, he just leads and do what he wants, such character might be good outside the pitch when it comes to life scenarios, but inside the pitch, it's not good, it's not better, the coach instructions are to be followed, but Davis, Davis doesn't do that, believing that whatever he believes is the real solution to the problem before him, forgetting that this wasn't his battle actually, this was a team, and as a team, there's only one leader that should be followed, the coach.
The Coach is the one to be sacked when things aren't going well, not the player, Davis possibly believes that what he's doing was something that would help the team, but there can't be two drivers on a ship, I'm trying to let him know that, even though he knew I was making some point, he still believes that he wouldn't put his finger into the fire because the Coach asked him to, he knows what's best for him.
The man who met him on our first day here said something to him, he advised him to bend down, that's when he would see what he's made off, not that he wasn't seeing it already or we the other players aren't, but I think I have caught a glimpse of what he was trying to say to Davis, that wasn't really an on field advice, rather it was meant for the outfield, all you've got to do to understand him was change the table and you'll get to understand the advice being thrown at Davis, which he was finding too hard to get on with.
For me actually, I already know that I own the story, that I was the figure going to make it through either way. I haven't just been getting compliments about my balance and physical look, I have as well proven how skilled and experienced I was inside the pitch, someone with a good eye for the game could possibly have dictated my flaws by now, but for me, I know it, and I am working on them.
“ Hey Dad....”
( Hello Jerome, Jeffery told us that you've gone for the trials for the past few days....)
“ I told you guys about it already, you guys were aware when I left for the trials, spoke to you the night before my journey.....”
Yeah, I can remember vividly that I made contact with them that night, I reached out to everyone close to me, even Davis who was to go to the trials with me, I reached out to him too, encouraging him about how it was going to go with the effort we were going to put in, believing that both of us have got a great chance to progress in this. My parents knew, Gianna knew, who else was missing in the list?, This people mentioned are the most important people I've got in this life.
( Yeah son, I think I can remember that now, but anyways I still have got to ask you know..... My brain is slowly fading, there's going to be more of this kind of question in the future....)
Both of us burst out of laughter, finding what he just said funny, when I did know it's going to be a sure reality, but not yet, there's Still going to be a whole lot of time until it gets to that point, and when it does, he wouldn't have anymore responsibility to look onto, because he would've been retired from us, while we take care of our own offsprings.
“ Yeah Dad, but don't push it, you're definitely gonna age like fine wine, getting smarter and wiser rather than fading out....”
I know that I never wanted to speak with those from outside, I never wanted to get any reason for a distraction in this, but my parents were off chart to that, they're always welcomed in, no matter what boundary that was being set, their calls or presence would never be cut short for any reason.
( I know you probably never would like to hear this son, but as a parent, I gotta ask, even if I am not really a good fan of the conversation..... How has in been going with your rage issues, your anger problems, hope they aren't holding you back in any way?.....)
Yeah, he's sure right that this wasn't what I would be a fan of as well, but in anyway, I know that I am really working on them right from the moment I choosed to travel from the town to here in the City, even though I have as well seen myself in multiple situations where I let my anger out, especially on Jeffery, I have sure been putting in the work, both in and off the pitch.
“ Thanks Dad, I really appreciate you for asking, I would proudly say that there's being quite a lot of change in this past few days, thanks for y'all having patience in me, I really appreciate.....”
