Chapter 15: The Missing Child
Chapter 15: The Missing Child
Panfilo paced back and forth in his small apartment, his mind racing with worry as he tried to make sense of the chaos that had engulfed his life. The news of Melinda's transformation into Pasatsat had shaken him to his core, but it was the disappearance of his son that filled him with a sense of dread unlike anything he had ever known.
"Where is he?" Panfilo muttered, his voice trembling with emotion as he searched the room for any sign of his missing child. "Where could he be?"
Just then, there was a knock at the door, startling Panfilo from his thoughts. He hurried to answer it, his heart pounding in his chest as he prayed for good news.
Standing on the other side of the door were Agnes and Milo, their faces grave with concern as they greeted Panfilo with solemn nods.
"Panfilo, we need to talk," Agnes said, her voice low and urgent as she stepped into the apartment. "We've heard about your son's disappearance, and we want to help."
Panfilo's heart skipped a beat at the mention of his son, his mind reeling with a mixture of fear and hope. "Do you know where he is?" he asked, his voice tinged with desperation.
Agnes shook her head, her expression troubled as she exchanged a worried glance with Milo. "We don't know for sure," she admitted, her voice heavy with regret. "But we have reason to believe that Pasatsat may be involved."
Panfilo's blood ran cold at the mention of Pasatsat, his mind flooded with images of the vengeful spirit that had haunted his every waking moment since Melinda's transformation. "No... it can't be..." he whispered, his voice barely more than a breath as he struggled to comprehend the truth of what he was hearing.
Milo stepped forward, his eyes filled with determination as he laid a comforting hand on Panfilo's shoulder. "We're going to find him, Panfilo," he said, his voice steady despite the uncertainty that hung in the air. "But we need your help."
Panfilo nodded, his heart heavy with grief as he realized the enormity of the task that lay before them. "I'll do whatever it takes," he said, his voice filled with resolve. "Just tell me what you need me to do."
Agnes and Milo exchanged a determined glance, their minds already racing with plans and strategies for finding Panfilo's missing son. "First, we need to gather information," Agnes said, her voice firm with determination. "We'll start by talking to anyone who might have seen something suspicious."
Panfilo nodded in agreement, his mind buzzing with thoughts of where to begin their search. "I know a few places we can start," he said, his voice tinged with hope. "But we'll need to move quickly if we want to find him before it's too late."
With that, the three of them set off into the night, their hearts heavy with worry but their spirits filled with determination. They knew that the road ahead would be fraught with danger and uncertainty, but they refused to give up hope of finding Panfilo's missing son.
As they ventured into the darkness, Panfilo felt a sense of purpose fill him, driving him forward in his quest to reunite with his beloved child. And though the path ahead was shrouded in shadows, he knew that as long as he had Agnes and Milo by his side, he would never give up the fight to bring his son home.
The air was thick with tension as Agnes and Milo emerged from the depths of the forbidden temple, their bodies weary from the fierce battle they had just fought. Despite their victory over the stone guardian, the weight of their journey still hung heavy upon them, their minds racing with thoughts of what lay ahead.
Agnes sighed heavily as she leaned against the cool stone wall, her breath coming in ragged gasps as she tried to calm her racing heart. Milo stood beside her, his eyes filled with concern as he watched her struggle to regain her composure.
"Are you okay?" he asked softly, his voice filled with genuine concern as he reached out to gently touch her shoulder.
Agnes nodded, her eyes downcast as she struggled to find the words to express the fear and uncertainty that gnawed at her heart. "I'm fine," she said, her voice barely more than a whisper as she forced a weak smile. "Just... a little shaken, that's all."
Milo studied her face for a moment, his gaze searching her eyes for any sign of the turmoil that raged within her. He knew that Agnes was strong and capable, but he also knew that even the bravest of souls needed comfort and reassurance in times of trouble.
Without a word, Milo pulled Agnes into his arms, wrapping her in a warm embrace as he held her close. Agnes tensed for a moment, her body stiff with surprise, but then she relaxed into Milo's embrace, feeling the warmth of his presence wash over her like a soothing balm.
"It's okay," Milo whispered, his voice soft and reassuring as he pressed his cheek against the top of Agnes's head. "You're safe now. We're all safe."
Agnes closed her eyes and let out a shaky breath, feeling the tension drain from her body as she melted into Milo's embrace. She could feel the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath her ear, a comforting reminder that she was not alone in this dark and dangerous world.
"Thank you," she murmured, her voice barely more than a whisper as she buried her face against Milo's chest. "I don't know what I would do without you."
Milo held her tighter, his arms wrapping around her protectively as he whispered words of comfort and reassurance into her ear. He knew that they had faced many dangers together, but he also knew that as long as they had each other, they could overcome anything that stood in their way.
"We're in this together," he said, his voice steady with conviction as he held Agnes close. "No matter what happens, I'll always be here for you."
Agnes nodded, her heart filled with gratitude for Milo's unwavering support and friendship. In that moment, she knew that no matter how dark and terrifying their journey became, as long as they had each other, they would always find the strength to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
And as they stood there together, wrapped in each other's arms, Agnes felt a sense of peace wash over her, knowing that no matter what the future held, she would always have Milo by her side. And with his comforting embrace to guide her, she knew that she could face whatever dangers awaited them, and emerge victorious in the end.Download Novelah App
