Chapter Fifty: Fall

There was another detail in the prophecy that everyone failed to take notice of. The most important part that will be the key to all of this, it may be our only chance. It was indeed possible for a goddess to defeat this enemy but only one would not suffice against so many enders. So if one would not be enough, we should just call on more.
“To my allies, people of Llfhame, for many decades you have put your trust in the gods. Once again, show your devotion and belief; call upon the help of the gods! Together!” I used air to transmit my voice to my comrades.
It is gamble since the enemy could hear it too, but this is the only chance.
“Your coward gods would never come!”
“But I am already here,”
Up above the air, I produced a large magic circle enough to cover the whole battlefield.
“Now Johann!” I yelled at Johannes who was fighting below. There was no time for him to look at me but I saw him moving as I hoped he would.
“William! Luther!”
The two of them who both have physical prowess immediately ran close to those who are fighting their own battles. It was time to run, time to run towards a domain under our control.
Plan B. Bring all down.
It is a plan we had if everything was to go differently from what we expect. If we could not defeat them by the tactics we have prepared, if we are ever overpowered this is what we shall do. Although Johann had his reservations for this plan I am glad he still followed it anyway.
I do not know if my mana can take this magic release, but I have outside help. I can probably do this.
In the Willow, in the temple of Gods, right now the monks are praying to the goddess of the wind. It is not merely praying, but they are giving me there strength, their devotion and it would supply me the power I am lacking. And this same way I am planning on opening the realms. Yes, the only chance to win this is for the gates of the realm to open.
I saw Yahya beginning to heal those who have entered the domain. The executives who were fighting with them did not keep up with William’s speed and Luther’s throwing strength.
“Luther! Why are you not listening to your father?” exclaimed a man claiming to be Luther’s father.
Luther gritted his teeth and anger was showing in his eyes, “My father… is dead.”
Then he regrouped with the others inside the domain. But there was one person who was not able to enter the domain. Monk Amon.
She was stopping the first ender from coming near the domain. This is bad, I could not release this spell as long as allies are around.
“My, can you not move from there?” my eyes widened by the sudden voice beside me.
How can he move? Isn’t he fixated in one place once he activated the chain of destruction? What changed?
“It seems like our positions have changed. You are now the one who cannot move from your position. Why not release that spell?” the mocking mile on his face was ever so irritating.
“It seems like your chain is not so stable too, Mr. Wizard.” I retaliated.
I know now. The reason why he can move was because the chain of destruction isn’t active now, where is it? I surveyed the surroundings, and there it is, in his position earlier.
His eyes also trailed to where my eyes were and the mocking expression on his face was gone.
“That would not change the position you are currently in.”
“You know there are god descents in my team right?”
The Grand Arch Wizard’s puzzled face did not last long when he heard my statement.
“You intend to use your allies as vessels for those gods.”
I flashed him a smirk and he disappeared before my eyes. So he decided to go back to his weapon.
I do not know if I should be thankful in his view of the gods or I should be insulted. Did he really think that I would sacrifice my comrades’ lives?
But indeed, that was one possible solution, to summon the gods using the descents. But even if I remove my conscience and sacrifice my allies the power wouldn’t be enough. There is only two descent present here, the Debra siblings. If they can host gods, there would be three gods against the Grand Arch Wizard but that would not be enough to ensure that he is totally annihilated. What I need is to open the realm.
To do that there would only be one way, let the one who closed it open it once again. In other words, let the High Order open the gates.
“Goddess, do it!” shouted Monk Amon while she was finally restraining her brother, the first milieus executive.
There was a look in her eyes saying that it was alright, so I decided to trust her. I looked around for the person who will be vital for the success of this plan. Lucianna.
Yes, it was Lucianna. I was planning to enforce her fire spell inside the wind spells I am about to cast. The plan is to totally annihilate the enemy. Burn all the milieus. It is cruel but this is a battle field. Right now, everyone is focused on destroying the domain Johann has created; the Grand Arch Wizard will go back to protecting the chain of destruction and completely suck the power of the realms. Because the chain of destruction is connected to the gates his range is limited, what I need to do is force him into a corner so he would have no choice but to pull his weapon away from the gates, that way we could finally call to the gods to open the gates and that is a job I will leave to the monks.
Right now, what I need to do is to defeat the enemy in front of us.
*“Thou art my guide
Give me oh the greatest power
A bind no one can hide
Capture even the tiniest flower
Gentle oh you are wind of the celestial
Hear my plea, grant us thee
Show thy might and beauty
Oh wash away all the sorrow thy see.”*
The giant air bubble surrounded the battle area; the sharp gusts of the wind began to run rampant inside the bubble. They began to notice the forming spell around them. The first milieus executive angrily broke free from Monk Amon and started to throw projectiles at me. Monk Amon wanted to run after him but I saw the headmaster grab her hand. No, why is he out from the board domain?
A gust of wind was whirling towards them, good thing Monk Amon noticed it and pulled headmaster Nathaniel away from it. Monk Amon had no choice but to jump in the chessboard. I saw Johann looking at me from below, I smiled at him.
“Protect them Harlequin,” I said. I know he would understand even if he did not hear me.
“Hey goddess of the wind, I kind of need help balancing myself, my floating spell isn’t stable at all,” Lucianna grumbled behind me.
I am glad she made it. I smiled at her and casted a floating spell at her.
“Now, are you ready—“
“Listarte!” Lucianna suddenly shouted.
When I looked back it was already too late. A black energy was approaching me in a fast speed. The chain of destruction! Then a blinding light stopped it from reaching me. I saw the back of a familiar man.
“Guardian of the spirits!”
“Goddess, I am sorry I have come late,” it was the guardian who was wearing the scholar’s hat!
“Thank you that may have been the cause of my death,” he nodded at me and I sensed urgency in him.
“I brought a message from the temple, they are ready. I am glad I came on the right time. Now I leave this to you again, I shall protect those who are vulnerable in your stead. Good luck goddess.”
Then he disappeared into thin air.
“Now Lucianna, I will add another spell, please fuse your strongest fire power in it. Just remember to leave enough mana to protect yourself. In case anything goes wrong.”
“What’s the need to do that; I will pour everything I’ve got, just carry me after.”
I smiled at her remark, I saw her ears redden but she looked away from me. In the middle of this war, I am glad I still made another friend.
