After the rain at night, the dawn of this morning seemed more sparkling and brilliant. The sky was clear without a cloud. The cool air still lingered on the streets. Nancy took her bike to the yard, carefully locked the gate, and quickly ran to the company. Since leaving S city, she returned to D province, used her savings over the years to build a small house on the land she had bought before, and applied for a job at Cara company, a company specializing in designing and manufacturing women's fashion shoes. The reason Nancy chose a job that had nothing to do with her profession was because she wanted to experience and feel the daily life and love of workers as a foundation to write her next work. The distance from where she lived to her workplace was not too far. However, Cara's company is located right at the market, so the street is quite bustling, while her house is on this side, the street is extremely deserted. As soon as she sat down at the quality control table, the bell rang to signal the time to work. The guy operating the hydraulic cutting machine quickly started the machine and started working. The job of a quality control employee of the first team is quite light. Nancy just needs to check if the shoe surface pieces are torn, cracked, or have any blemishes, then count the number and bundle them. Today she checked the leather material so she had to stick matching number stamps on the shoe components so that the tailor could sew them together. The purpose of this was to make the left and right shoes the same color. While working, she heard compliments. She guessed that a new worker had an outstanding appearance that made everyone admire him. She was so used to this that she didn't want to look. While she was busy sticking the numbered stamps, she heard the team leader tell the cutter to step down so the new guy could try his skills and get the job. Because there were still many pairs of shoes that had not yet been numbered by Nancy, she kept staring at them even though compliments about the new man's beauty rang out around her. “Are these the same, Nancy?” The team leader asked as he put the leather pieces together. “Yes, similar.” She answered and then took the number stamp and stuck it on them. “Okay, then Dylan, you can stand on this machine. And you, follow me.” After saying that, the team leader took the cutter guy to the row of newly imported machines located on the other side. Nancy heard the familiar name and immediately raised her head to look. When their eyes met, she was so surprised that she froze. The face that she dreamed of every night was now facing her. “Long time no see. Are you still well?” Dylan spoke gently. Nancy's limbs began to tremble, the feeling of nervousness made it extremely difficult for her to breathe. She quickly bent down, pretending to be cold, and continued to check the quality of the goods. Is Dylan crazy? He is a noble chairman but he came here to apply for a job as a worker in a women's fashion shoe factory. Or did he follow her? But obviously, she didn't tell anyone she was here. Recently, the press has been continuously reporting that he and the Nova Group's daughter are dating. Perhaps his appearance here is just a coincidence. Perhaps he is also going on an experience or playing a reality TV show. However, she looked around and saw no camera. So many thoughts rushed through Nancy's head that she was dizzy, the numbered stamps were taken horizontally, but she kept taking them vertically and pasting them haphazardly. By the time Dylan looked down, dozens of pairs of shoes were all messed up. “Honey, you made a mistake.” Dylan reminded softly. “Huh? Oh, what should I do now? It's all messed up.” Seeing her flustered, Dylan couldn't help but smile, his lips slightly curled up and he quickly bent down. His hands quickly arranged them for her and in a moment, everything was resolved. Nancy opened her eyes wide and looked at his hands. Although she could match them herself, she couldn't do it so quickly. But that was only natural, how could she forget that this man was very talented. “Done, no problem.” “Thank you.” As soon as Nancy finished speaking, a male worker ran over, carrying a large bundle of leather on his shoulder and placing it on the table behind the hydraulic cutter. After finishing his work, he did not leave immediately but lingered to talk to Nancy, even inviting her to have dinner with him after work. Seeing his lover cold towards him but happily chatting with another man, Dylan's face darkened like it was about to rain. Hearing her tell the man to let her think before answering made Dylan extremely annoyed. Looking sideways and vertically, he has nothing outstanding except his upright posture and head protruding forward. Waiting for him to leave, Dylan turned back and grabbed her hand. “Let's go out to eat after work.” “I don't want to.” She said as she pushed his hand away. “You don't want to? So you're going to go with that primitive man, right?” “You… why did you say he was a primitive man? Who I go with, what does it have to do with you?” As soon as Nancy finished speaking, Cara's head popped right in between the two beautiful faces. Her eyes looked from the young man to the young woman and spoke sternly. “Hey, I'm paying you two to come here and argue?” So, at the same time, he turned back to the machine to continue working, she focused on the table to check the goods. Cara smiled and walked around the factory. This morning, the president of Global suddenly appeared and forced her to hire him. At first, she thought he had just finished using drugs and was high, but after hearing him tell her the whole story, she decided to use all her strength and tricks to help him escape his single life. Lunch time came, Nancy followed the old company rule that the old workers would take the new workers to the cafeteria and guide them because the number of workers was up to several hundred people, they had to sit in the right place. Opening the lunch box and seeing stir-fried beef, she looked at Dylan with concern. He was allergic to this dish, how could he eat it? Cara Company was different from Global Group, each meal only had one dish and a single soup, not many dishes to choose from. “Dylan, please go to the restaurant to eat.” She said softly. “I'm okay.” He replied as he transferred all the beef to Nancy, and he himself ate white rice and soup. Seeing him like that, she couldn't help but ask. “What did you come here for? Are you filming a reality show?” “No. I came here to see you. I miss you, Nancy. What happened before…” “Why do you have to suffer like this? My life is going well, please don't mess it up anymore.” Nancy said without paying attention to the sadness of the person in front of her. She tried to eat quickly and stood up. A year and a half was not too long, but it had changed everything. Although she knew that his feelings for her were hard to fade, now that he was dating Diana, she did not want to interfere and break up this well-matched relationship. Moreover, she always felt guilty every time she faced him, and she couldn't say the reason why she left that year. Even though he loved her and didn't care about the past, it was hard to avoid disagreements and arguments in their married life in the future. At times like that, the scars of that day would definitely return. At the beginning of work in the afternoon, Dylan had just started the machine when the team leader came over and told them both to go to the mechanical workshop to take some newly repaired knives back to the company. Nancy always had the feeling that this group leader and Dylan were in the same boat. She said she was afraid that if Nancy went alone, she would encounter robbers. Nancy didn't know when the team leader had prepared, she brought out two brand new helmets that looked like they had just been bought in a store and gave Dylan the motorbike key. Normally, Nancy would go there by bicycle, but now there were two people, so Dylan took the team leader's motorbike to take her because the road to the mechanical workshop was very narrow and cars couldn't get through. “Dylan, do you know how to ride a motorbike?” She looked at him, worried. “Of course, get on.” He affirmed firmly.
