Chapter 129: Marking Sovereignty
On the morning of the first day of the week, Jolie took the two children to kindergarten and when she returned, she saw her best friend and the president of Global Group sitting in her house. She was so surprised that she stood motionless. Mason had to rush over and pull her in.
“Jolie, I'm here to visit you.” Nancy stood up and spoke.
“You... what's going on?” Jolie looked at everyone in confusion and asked.
“You two keep talking, we'll go to the next room to discuss work a bit.” Dylan spoke.
After he and Mason left, Jolie cried loudly and asked about her friend. When she knew that Nancy had been living peacefully in D province for over a year and had not flown abroad, she screamed and blamed her.
“Why did you lie to me? This person, do you have a conscience?”
“If I hadn't said that, Dylan would have caught me long ago. You didn't help me keep the secret at all.”
“So who are you with now?”
“It's because he saw me on director Cara's YouTube channel. I didn't know.”
Jolie quickly wiped away her tears, put her hands on Nancy's shoulders to look at her friend carefully, and asked softly.
“Has the problem between you two been resolved?”
“Done.” Nancy nodded vigorously.
Both of them burst out laughing at the same time. The smiles on the two women's lips were like warm sunshine after stormy days.
Jolie wrapped her arms around Nancy and led her to tour the new house. Finally, after months of wandering, her friend found a peaceful place to rest.
After having lunch with Mason and Jolie, Dylan received a phone call from Neil on the way to take Nancy home, so he stopped by the company.
Because Nancy got wet in the rain the day before, she caught a cold. After eating and taking medicine, she yawned back and forth, and not long after getting in the car, she closed her eyes and fell asleep.
The Global Group employees were stunned for a few minutes when they saw the chairman carrying his wife who had been missing for a while and heading straight to the elevator.
Entering the office, Dylan quickly put Nancy on the bed and went to see Neil.
“Hello, uncle. What's the matter that you can't tell me over the phone?” Dylan quickly took a sip of tea and asked.
“Dylan. You see, I'm old now, I just want to live in peace in the countryside with my wife. As for Stephen, wanting him back is impossible. So, please help me.”
“I understand what you mean, you can transfer those shares to me. Please don't worry about anything. I'm very grateful to you for this time. Oh. I intend to recommend Daria for this position, do you think it's okay?”
“Of course, it's okay, she's been with Stephen and me for a long time, and she knows the nature of the work very well. I trust her very much.”
“Yes, I trust her too. Then I will tell Edana to prepare the procedures.”
After saying that, Dylan bowed to Neil and stood up, walking straight to his office. Neil smiled and looked at the figure of his friend's son. Finally, he could escape these shackles. When people slide to the other side of the slope of life, they will know exactly what they want.
If his son hadn't changed his mind constantly, he wouldn't have wasted so much time.
As for Stephen, Neil no longer wished for him to hold any important positions, he just wanted his son to get married soon, to have someone by his side to take care of him and care for him.
When he heard that Stephen had won several major photography awards, he felt extremely proud, even more proud than when his son was the deputy general director of Global Group.
At the same time, in the president's office, Nancy rubbed her eyes back and forth to see clearly, she thought she was sleepwalking. Just now after eating with Jolie and her husband, Dylan brought her home, but why did it now turn into his office?
“Are you awake?”
Dylan's voice startled Nancy and she quickly turned her head to look. Although she didn't ask, she already knew how he brought her here, and perhaps everyone had witnessed everything.
“Dylan, are you doing this to announce to everyone that you are back with me?”
“What are you talking about? I have to go to the company, but because you're sleeping, I have no other choice. I can't leave you in the car.”
“Really?” She pouted, her chubby face showing a bit of disappointment.
Her fingers were caressing the hem of her dress when the phone's notification rang. She slowly put her hand into her bag. It turned out that Facebook had notified her that she had been tagged in a photo, and the person who tagged her was none other than Dylan.
She had just reopened this personal page yesterday. Looking at the wedding photo of her and him with the short caption “fiancée” made her emotional.
Although the photo had just been posted, it had already attracted hundreds of likes and comments below, and that number was still increasing.
“Dylan…”
“I didn't disappoint you, did I?”
“No.”
Dylan gently walked towards her, pulling her into his arms. The tigress had already turned back into a real tabby cat, but he knew that she would continue to turn into a tiger in the future.
Married life is never as peaceful as when two people are in love. The image of her standing on the table holding a stick and screaming while he and his young son had to kneel on the floor with their arms crossed suddenly appeared in his mind, making him unable to hold back his laughter.
“What are you laughing at?” Nancy pushed Dylan's shoulder away and looked at him in surprise.
Luckily for him, at this time there was a knock on the door and after a few seconds, Lyle and Rosalind appeared.
Seeing that Nancy had returned, Lyle was overjoyed, quickly approached her, and asked her. Rosalind timidly looked at Nancy, a trace of guilt still lingering in her eyes.
“Rosalind, long time no see.” Nancy took the initiative to speak first.
“Hello. Can I… talk to you privately for a moment?”
Nancy glanced at Dylan and when she saw him smile and nod, she immediately grabbed Rosalind's hand and led her to the terrace.
When they arrived, Nancy turned around and saw Rosalind's beautiful face covered in tears.
“I'm sorry. Nancy, about what happened in the past, please forgive me. It's my fault...”
“Rosalind, Dylan told me everything. Sister, let's forget all the sad things of the past, and remember the happy things.”
“You don't hate me?”
“No more hatred. I don't want to be drowned in hatred. I forgive you just like Dylan forgave me.”
“Nancy, it's good that you came back, otherwise, I would have to live with regret for the rest of my life.”
After saying that, Rosalind walked over and wrapped her arms around the girl who was once her rival. The feeling of being forgiven made her feel light, like a feather blowing in the wind, as if she could lift her feet and fly.
While they were hugging each other tightly, they heard a noise from below. Both of them looked down at the same time. Rosalind smiled and turned to Nancy.
“It seems like our Wynn has to spend a lot of money tonight.”
“What do you mean?” Nancy frowned and asked.
Rosalind smiled and told Nancy that today was the day Wynn's contract expired, so he should liquidate his contract with Global Group to prepare to retire from the entertainment industry and get married.
Unexpectedly, as soon as the announcement was made, his fan club rushed to the gate, begging their idol not to retire, telling him to get married and continue working because they had always supported him.
Wynn was so touched that he cried so much that his eyes were swollen. Then, he decided to take out his wallet and invite them to a delicious meal tonight to introduce their future sister-in-law.
Nancy giggled, she guessed it would be difficult for this male singer to end his career. Beside her, Rosalind also smiled. The two girls turned around, leaning against the wall, looking up.
The yellow sunset glowed across a corner of the city's sky, slowly falling behind the massive buildings. The last rays of the day gradually faded and dusk appeared. Nancy felt her heart lighten. Another day ended peacefully. Perhaps when she had him by her side, time would pass smoothly.Download Novelah App
