Chapter 131: The Road to Happiness (Last Chapter)
A few days later, after inspecting several large construction projects and visiting the house of the woman who had given them shelter in the past, Dylan and Nancy quickly returned to the city.
Because after they registered their marriage, it was almost time for Donna's interview, so Dylan took Nancy directly to the meeting place.
When Daniel saw his fake cousin and the president of Global Group entering, he and Donna enthusiastically stood up to greet them. His eyes roamed around like a merry-go-round, trying to find his idol and then look at Nancy.
“Cousin, where's Song? You couldn't invite her, right?”
“If Song doesn't come, Miss Donna can interview me. Is it a loss?” Dylan spoke up.
“Of course not, interviewing the president of Global Group is my once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.” Donna quickly replied.
“Hey, I'm not inferior to him.” Daniel muttered.
The four of them drank tea together. When the clock hands pointed to the appointed time, Nancy stood up and introduced herself as Song and asked Donna to start asking questions.
At this moment, not only Donna but also Daniel were wide-eyed in surprise, speechless. It took a few minutes for the president of LE Bank to regain his composure.
“You... cousin. Oh my god... how could you hide it from me for so long? Have you been feeling that I'm too stupid for a long time? I'm a fan of you.”
“No, I'm very proud of myself for being idolized by you.” Nancy winked mischievously.
“Song, Song, oh my god…” Daniel scratched his head, turning back and forth.
“Can you shut up so we can have an interview? Are you drugged?” Donna turned to Daniel and glared at him.
As a result, the two gentlemen sat quietly to let the two women do their work. After questions about her biography, literary life, and upcoming works, Donna continued to ask questions about the writer's personal life and plans.
“My future husband and I have just completed the marriage registration procedure and will get married next weekend.”
Nancy's answer ended the interview with a lot of emotions. Donna looked at Nancy with satisfaction, her eyes filled with tears, unable to hide her joy.
“Thank you for the interview. I wish you both happiness. I wish you good health and more and more success in life and work.”
After Nancy signed the towering stack of books she had written that Daniel had painstakingly collected, the four of them went to the restaurant to eat.
According to Dylan, this meal will be paid for by Daniel because of his empty promise. For more than a year, Daniel has been avoiding Dylan like he is hiding from a wanted warrant, never seeing a missed call from him.
Day after day passed, and finally the super wedding of the century of the talented couple officially took place on the beach in a splendid space with the presence of many high-ranking officials, businessmen, and famous stars.
The appearance of the top-notch guests made the photographers' hands tired from taking pictures. Couples Wynn and Mina, Lyle and Rosalind, Daniel and Donna, Edana and Kent, John and Rose were continuously captured by the lens.
At exactly four o’clock in the afternoon, the two main characters officially appeared to take photos with friends and guests. The white reed-inspired wedding dress that was thought to lie in a box forever has now been worn by the bride.
Seeing Nancy radiant on her happy day, Jolie was so happy that she cried, quietly leaning on Mason and watching from afar, she was afraid that if she got closer she would lose control and start making a fuss, which would not be good.
“Congratulations you two. Nancy, I hope your next day will be happier than the previous one.” Stephen was emotional as he shook hands with the bride and groom.
“Yes. Thank you, Stephen.” Nancy replied softly.
From afar, the sound of a baby crying made everyone turn their heads to look. It turned out to be Paul and Ella carrying two children. Backpacks, milk bottles, cloth towels, tissues, everything was in disarray.
“Chairman, wife of the chairman, congratulations to you both.” Paul said while coaxing the child clinging to him to stop crying.
“Look, Dylan, you'll be like this someday. I wish to see you holding a baby in your right hand, holding a baby in your left hand, and then two more children clinging to your legs.” Stephen looked at Dylan and teased.
“If you wish like that, it will only make someone else suffer.” Dylan glanced at Daria.
Everyone burst into laughter. Everyone knew that Daria was in the hot seat, and if Dylan was busy, she would have to shoulder everything.
Stephen's face suddenly darkened. Not long after he went abroad, his former assistant suddenly blocked him on Facebook and changed her phone number.
Because he thought she had found her true love after he left, he did not try to contact her anymore. But just now, when he saw her intimately chatting with the head of the LE bank's transaction department, his blood suddenly boiled.
At exactly 5:30 pm, the most beautiful moment of the day gradually arrived. The sunset gently fell, the red sunlight dyed the sea pink and the sacred moment of the bride and groom began.
Dylan couldn't hold back his tears as he watched the bride walk towards him step by step. Many guests below were also sobbing.
In a romantic scene, both of them exchanged wedding rings, and sincere words from the bottom of their hearts made everyone touched.
“Only you and I know how difficult our love story is. Wife, I will cherish every moment with you until the end of my life. I love you.” Dylan said.
“Dylan, finally, I can officially call you husband and become your wife. From now on, I will stick to my husband and never leave again.” Nancy replied.
As soon as Nancy finished speaking, both the groom and the guests cried like rain. His deep and loyal love for her moved the hearts of those who witnessed their stormy love story.
Nancy hugged Dylan in overflowing happiness. She had dreamed of this moment for a long time. She thought she could only walk with him in a dream, but it all turned into reality.
After Wynn sang a song for the bride and groom, Nancy threw the bouquet down amid the excitement of the couples and friends.
Stephen was looking towards Daria and the head of the bank's transaction department when flowers fell from the sky and fell right on him. As a result, everyone's eyes focused on him.
“If you don't have a lover, then give it to someone else.” Wynn spoke up.
“Who said I don't have a lover? I will hold the wedding right away so you can open your eyes wide.”
Hearing him say that, Daria immediately turned away. She had thought he was just flirting with that foreign girl, but he was planning to get married.
The bustling, cozy party took place in a space filled with shimmering electric light. Everyone was enthusiastically eating and drinking because the bride and groom had booked the entire area. When they were full, they just had to go to the luxurious room and sleep.
Stephen quietly sat down on the chair next to Daria and whispered.
“You said you'd wait for me to come back, but you blocked my number and then dated another man. Why is your aesthetic taste so poor? You chose a guy as skinny as a stick. Have you gone to his house? His whole family is skinny.”
“Stephen, did you eat a talking mushroom or something? Why are you talking so much?”
After saying that, Daria stood up and moved to another place. Stephen smiled sadly, picked up the glass of wine, and drank it all.
Humans are like that. When you open your hand and get it, you don't need it, but when you're about to lose it, you regret it.
The party gradually ended, and groups of people dispersed into the rooms. Wynn had drunk too much and was lying on the sand, so Lyle and Stephen had to carry him in. Because both of them were drunk, they kept dropping him, making Mina worried.
Daria had just finished removing her makeup when she heard a knock on the door. She walked out and saw Stephen standing in front of her. She coldly turned to the side.
“Why didn't you go back to your room to rest? What are you doing here?”
Stephen sighed, gently took Daria's hand, and placed a box in it. She looked at him in surprise and quickly opened it. Inside was nothing but a photo of her catching the morning dew in his vineyard.
“Daria. Today, I came back here, which means I have let go of the past. You said you would wait for me, but why did you go back on your word?” He questioned in a low voice.
“You… aren't you dating that foreign girl?”
“Which foreign girl?”
“The person who often takes pictures with you, the two of you look very affectionate.”
Looking at Daria's fierce expression, he couldn't help but laugh. He didn't expect that someone who had lived, studied, and worked abroad like her would be so old-fashioned and make such assumptions.
In the end, he had to spend half an hour explaining to her that he and that girl were just normal friends.
“Is that so? I know, you should go back to sleep.” She bowed her head shyly.
“Let's go for a walk by the beach, I can't sleep because of jet lag.”
She shyly nodded and held out her hand for Stephen to lead her out. Today, seeing him appear alone, she had a little bit of hope, and now she was satisfied.
The love that she thought was out of reach suddenly returned to her, making her extremely happy. She hoped that one day in the not-too-distant future, she and Stephen would recreate the dreamlike scene of Dylan and Nancy.
It turned out that happiness when being with the person she loved was simply holding his hand and walking along the beach at night like this.
The sea breeze was cold, but the warmth from this man's hand spread to her, warming her.
“When you feel too cold, let me know, and I will hug you and warm you up.” Stephen squeezed Daria's hand, smiling gently.
“I'm not cold.” She lied because she was too embarrassed.
It was late at night, the gentle sea reflected the golden light of the moon floating high above. The waves lapped at the shore, drawing sparkling curves. The scene was quiet, with only the sound of the waves and the whispers of the newlywed couple sitting on the rock watching the scenery.
Nancy leaned on Dylan's lap, her legs swinging slightly, playing with the water splashes. He gently caressed her hand for a moment and then put the fountain pen in.
“Dylan, why is the diamond still here?” Nancy sat up straight in surprise, her eyes sparkling as she looked at the person next to her.
“Actually, I found the stolen diamond. This is for you. Alex gave it to you so it belongs to you, and you belong to me.” Dylan smiled and stroked her hair.
Seeing the silhouettes of a young couple holding hands and walking on the sand, Nancy stretched her neck to see clearly, but Dylan reached out to pull her back. He hugged her tightly in his arms. The moonlight of the night added to the mystery on the man's face.
“Tonight, you can only look at me, don't pay attention to the surroundings.”
Nancy laughed and nodded slightly. Her slender arms gently hugged his back. The storm has passed, and the people who love each other are finally back together. The bright moonlight hung above their heads, and waves gently lapped at their feet.Download Novelah App
