What Just Happened?

Chapter 100 –
“Woah! What just happened?!”
Johan was the first to react.
Eury pulled away from Dorin.
[Dorin is just 13] was written on Seb’s slate.
“Cradle snatcher!” Eirian gasped as she snatched Dorin into her arms.
“Eury, you shouldn’t just kiss anybody out of the blue!” Xander told his team mate.
“Dorin Silvius is not just anybody,” the Dryad replied. “He is my chosen mate.”
“Your mate?” Dorin repeated, his face all red.
“I refuse!” Eirian tightened her hold on the young wind mage. “My Dorin is too young to be in any relationship!”
“Then I shall wait. It is not hard for us Dryads to wait.”
“I still refuse!” Eirian insisted.
“Wow, I had no idea you were such a player, Dorin,” Johan said with a grin, “you’re just like Seb who had women following him around last week!”
[Do not remind me.]
“I do not mind if you have other women, as long as your seeds are strong,“ said Eury who tried to get closer to Dorin once again.
“Over my dead body!” Eirian snapped at her.
“Okay, hold it right there,” said Mordecai who stood between the two. “Let’s talk this over first...”
“Eury, Dorin is still a child, and you are...”
“I am 473 years old.”
“Woah, you’re that old?!” Johan exclaimed as he stared at the Dryad who looked no older than 20.
“We are long lived,” was Eury’s short reply.
“Even so, Dorin is still too young to know about that stuff...”
“I do know about reproduction,” Dorin interrupted Mordecai. “Mother always said that I should have lots of children with – “
“Dorin, this is not the time.” Eirian stared at Dorin, her voice raising.
The room fell silent and felt cold.
“You little rascal!” She suddenly grabbed Dorin’s thick hair and proceeded to give him a noogy. “You talk about grown-up stuff when you can’t even let go of your mommy issues!” she laughed. “You’re a hundred years too young to get into a relationship! You little mama’s boy!”
“Ow, stop that!” Dorin complained.
“I can wait a hundred years,” said Euridice.
The rest of their companions laughed as Dorin tried to pull away from his best friend who glared at the Dryad.
“I’m glad to see that you have bonded with each other,” called a voice from behind.
The two groups turned around to see their professors watching them from the middle of the room. “I guess further introductions are no longer needed since you all seem to know each other.”
“Good afternoon, Dean Alcione, professors,” Xander nodded at the rest.
The heads of the magic divisions were present, namely Prof. Althea of the Magic Medicine Department, Prof. Dupont of the Alchemy Department,
Prof. Reginald Morell of Arcane Arts, Prof. Dimitrio of Herbology, and
Prof. Raevers of charms. There was also a hooded person with them who seemed to be floating on air, beside whom stood the groundskeeper and head of Cryptozoology, Damien Wolvesbane.
“Pan Phineas!” Dorin called to the hooded person who slightly tilted his head.
“As you know, the goal of Special Class Spheres is for the members of the groups to build a better bond and learn to cooperate with each other,” explained the dean. ”You will be given tests at the end of each month to gauge your levels, and to see how well you can work with each other, I am pitting you against the other team.”
“Ah, I knew it!” Dorin whispered excitedly at Johan who nodded in reply.
“Now, for our first meeting, I want you to elect a luminary for your Sphere. He shall be your leader for the whole year, so please choose wisely for the person you can all respect and rely upon.”
“Of course, the third prince, Alexander shall be our luminary,” said Boulver, with Vennet nodding enthusiastically beside him.
Dorin’s team all looked at him.
“So who should we vote for?” he asked.
[Idiot. You of course!]
“ME? But am I not the youngest in this group?!” Dorin replied.
“How old were you again, Benette?” asked Johan.
“I... I am 21 this year...” the medic replied.
“This is our new member Eirian,” Johan pointed at Eirian. “How old are you?”
“I am 25 years old,” she said under her breath. “But I vote for Dorin to be our luminary. No one is better than him,” she said proudly.
“I think so too...” Benette mumbled.
“Me too, he’s even popular with the women!” grinned Johan.
[true, no one here can challenge his talents and his charisma] wrote Seb with Azra chirping on his shoulder.
“Then it is settled!” said Eirian, raising her voice. “Our luminary is Dorin Silvius.”
“Then the two luminaries shall be Dorin Silvius for the 1st Sphere, and Alexander Bryon Louise Alcione for the 2nd Sphere. Now, I would like you to choose a mentor that you think would best help you improve your skills,” said Deal Alcione. “You can choose a different professor each time we meet, and a professor can handle any number of students at a time.”
“Then I shall be under your care, Dean Alcione,” said Xander with his hand raised.
“We would like to be under you as well!” said Boulvar and Venet.
“Good, how about the others?”
“I’m going with Pan Phineas!” Dorin happily declared.
“I’ve always been interested with magical beasts...” Eirian smiled at Damien. “So I choose the head of Cyptozoology.”
“I would like to continue my lessons with Prof. Agate...” mumbled Benette.
[Herbology with Prof. Dimitrious] wrote Seb.
“We would like to join you as well,” said Mordecai with Eury by his side.
“Well,” Johan looked at Prof. Dupont with Dagon by his side. “I choose – “
The windows darkened before he could finish, as a strong wind came in from the surrounding windows.
“You shall study under me, boy. You and Dagon, both.”
All eyes fell on Ombra who suddenly appeared in front of Johan.
“Lord Ombra!” The startled Johan stepped back. “Don’t just appear out of nowhere! You almost scared me to death!” he complained.
“Then you are weak.” Ombra glared at him.
“W-who is that?” Xander asked wide-eyed, but none of his companions could give an answer.
“He is Lord Ombra of the Shadow Dragons,” Dean Alcione told him.
“Shadow Dragons? Is that a clan of some sort from some foreign land?”
“Yes,” the dean simply replied.
“I can sense such power from him...” Xander mumbled to himself.
He looked at Dean Alcione, then back at Ombra.
“Would you like to change your instructor for today?” the Dean stared at him coldly.
“N-no, Sir, of course not!” he quickly replied.
“Then let us begin,” Dean Alcione addressed the rest of the class as well. “You may ask your chosen professor to teach you or guide you in anything you wish to learn. The rest of the professors who are left without a student may leave or assist the others.”
