“Well, you are right, I would also give her victory if she does cutesy while fighting.” Maxwell agreed.
“You. Did. Good. Job. My. Lady. Good. Luck.” Creston mouthed without making any sound. Fortunately, Maxineirah understood what he meant.
“Hah. I do not you.” Drenschville changed his mind quickly because he thought it was just nonsense.
“Thank. You.” Maxineirah also mouthed and slightly nodded her head.
“Wait a second. Why do you keep on bullying me when I took your side?” Grenchant complained.
“Hey. Stop arguing.” Maxineirah finally butted in to restrain the boys.
“You should be spending your time to relax and to gather the energy you lost, not to fight.”
“If it is you saying that. I will listen.” Grenchant said in a good mood and hugged her before sticking his tongue out to the two.
Everyone got mad at Grenchant. How dare he hug the Young Lady?!
But they could not refute when Maxineirah patted his head which the boy enjoyed and made the others sharpen their gaze on him.
The third round started and it was Drenschville against Grenchant.
Right after they are on the ground, they have been glaring at each other.
Grenchant never liked his opponent and Drenschville was just thinking the same, be it in the past, present and future.
Maxineirah did not know where or when the two’s feud started but it was really making her wonder. Was it because of their own attitudes towards each other?
Grenchant was full of pride and a little naive and Drenschville on the other hand, was a joker, naughty and silly kid who likes to tease.
Maxineirah would not know why not until she gets really curious that she would start asking the boys about their feud.
“Fight!” After hearing that, the boys charged towards each other like lightning.
Dusts flew around behind their tracks and their sword clashed a second after.
Their clash made the audiences in awe, moreover, when they fought in a speedy speed that they almost could not follow their movements and only see their after shadows.
The reason why they were able to move like that was because their bodies were being supported by their own powers, making their bodies and movements light, almost making them feel like they were just a whipping air.
None of the two wanted to surrender.
Maxineirah knew that the two of them were really powerful in the past but she did not expect that they would be half powerful of their past in this age. Was this the result of their early training?
They have young bodies that were easy to cultivate, does not that mean, they could be more powerful than the past because they already obtained half of their powers?
The sparring match was only giving Maxineirah more ideas to improve the capabilities of Grenchant and Drenschville.
While fighting, Maxineirah saw their lips moved. Although they were really fast, their movements could not pass her eyes. She was able to read their movements and she did not realized it.
It was already amazing that they could move at that speed but it was exemplary that they were still able to converse in that kind of situation.
Maxineirah saw how the two’s expressions had changed for a moment that only the two Dukes noticed other than her.
They had opposite expressions on their faces that were not hard to read for the others but they were all eyes on the fight itself.
Drenschville smirked as he said something to the angry Grenchant .
After that, the fight ended as Grenchant’s win which Maxineirah also did not expect again.
The boy at least learned a thing from his fight with Maxineirah, that one should not be distracted in a fight and wait for the enemies’ gap in strength.
Because Drenschville tattled on him, obviously trying to let his guard down which he never fell on, his opponent did not realized that he let his own guard down in confidence that he could easily subdue him after what he said.
Grenchant won and Hushker already announced it but Grenchant was still pointing his sword on Drenschville’s neck and there was no sign that he would want to lower his sword.
He even pinned the sword closer to his throat that scattered him and little blood flowed out from the wound.
Everyone stood up in alarm that Grenchant would send Drenschville’s head flying on the training ground.
Drenschville has this small oblivious grin on his face and his eyes looking amused at the latter’s behaviour that only Grenchant and Maxineirah recognized.
Whilst there was a dark cloud looming over Grenchant’s head, his face was gloomy and icy cold.
At that moment, Maxineirah thought he was not the friend she knew.
Contrary to their worries, Grenchant finally backed down. He removed his sword unwillingly and turned his back from the boy, facing Maxineirah and Maxwell’s way.
Grenchant met Maxineirah’s red orbs that made him halt but he immediately diverted his eyes in another direction, avoiding her eyes that were asking him what happened.
Grenchant walked towards Maxineirah’s way without looking at her.
“Grent…” Maxineirah hesitated calling him in a low voice when he was almost in front of him, enough for him to hear.
Grenchant paused at his track but continued after a second.
“I will just get some breather.” Grenchant whispered back to Maxineirah.
“Hey, what is wrong with you?” Maxwell asked when he was already in front of them but the boy walked past them as if he did not hear anything.
“Oh, wow. Now, you are ignoring me.” Maxwell grunted.
Maxwell’s eyes followed Grenchant’s back walking away from them.
“Just what is his problem?” he asked Maxineirah who was the only one looking at Drenschville since they were all looking at Grenchant who was walking away.
Drenschville had a sly and evil smile planted on his face but after seeing Maxineirah looking at him, his expression changed right away as he smiled at the girl sweetly as if he was not the one who had that kind of expression earlier
Just what did Drenschville say to make Grenchant have that face she never saw even in her past life?
Hanzus was worried that there was something bothering his son so he instructed the Knight beside him to keep an eye on the child.
Hanzus caught Maxineirah’s eyes and looked at him so he gave her a thumbs up, saying that everything was fine.
The fourth round started -no, before the first round even started, everyone was not surprised anymore when Maxwell said, “I forfeit.” Even when he has not yet taken a step on the platform.
In Maxwell’s mind, how could he bear to fight his fragile and adorable pretty little sister?
They should cut off his shoulders first before they could even make him agree to fight Maxineirah.
Maxineirah frowned at her brother as she put the sword lazily to her shoulder.
“Are you looking down on me, Brother?” she asked with a disappointed look on her face and put her free hand on her waist.
Maxwell’s face showed awkwardness as if he was ashamed of the words he spouted in front of his sister. That was right, how could he not think of what his sister would feel after giving up without a fight just because he adores his sister?
Now, he was afraid that Maxineirah would think that he was such an inconsiderate older brother who only thinks of his own self.
“N-no. It is not like that at all.” Maxwell felt worried but on the other hand, Maximus was feeling refreshed that her precious daughter was getting disappointed with his son -his rival.
He was thinking that if Maxineirah got angry at Maxwell, there would be no other person in the house other than him that could be more reliable while his four other sons were at the academy.
“Then, why else are you refusing to fight me? Not because you favour me, that does not mean you can just cast aside my efforts that I put in on my training.”
“I am sorry… Okay. I will fight you fair and square.” Maxwell was convinced with her words and felt bad for making her sister think he was belittling her.
They both positioned on opposite corners of the training ground before Hushker, the referee, gave his signals.
Maxineirah’s eyes became sharper as she poured her focus on their fight for she knew how extraordinary her brother was. He might have been defeated by Drenschville earlier because of his own carelessness but he would not make a mistake the second time around, unless he felt sympathy for his adorable sister whom he was about to fight.
But after considering what she had said to his brother, she did not think that he would go easy on her and would surely give her a more than satisfactory fight.
Maxineirah and Maxwell both have talents, well, the four of them all have.
Maxineirah, although still a little woman, her skills does not get too inferior to the boys, she was stronger than any of her peers other than the three and only has an above than average talent but her perceptiveness and cunning attacks makes her on par with the three boys. She was also vigilant of her surroundings in order to make a more excellent outcome.
On the other hand, Maxwell, even though he has a careless side, was the strongest of the four when it comes to strength, and the most speedy of them. His sharp eyes also add up to his skills, covering his recklessness that was one of his weaknesses.
“Fight!”
“Do not worry mutt, I will do my best but you can not blame me if I want to shorten the fight.” Maxwell said in advance as if he knew what would happen next.
“You are still belittling me, Brother!” Maxineirah said as she attacked the boy who seemed to be in a dilly-dally even after hearing the go signal. Maxwell was startled as his sister caught him unprepared but he was able to fend her surprise attack although he still received a scratch on his arm.
Maxwell gritted his teeth as he shove Maxineirah’s sword away forcefully to create an opening but contrary to what he expected, the move he did was nothing for Maxineirah as she was not pushed back even a little and was quick on her feet to counter attack immediately that caught Maxwell off-guard.
Maxwell already knew that his sister was good at making her enemies caught off-guard, surprise and counter attacking by moving and reacting to the way they would not expect.
‘How could she have good posture when we all trained at the same time and take note that she has the weakest constitution of all of us.’
Maxwell felt as if Maxineirah’s blows were starting to get heavy as the fight prolonged and he just continued blocking all of those.
The thing was, Maxineirah had been maintaining her blows and she did not exert an ounce of additional force, it only means that Maxwell was lacking in his defences since he put too much time on his offences just because he has above than normal strength for a person.
Maxineirah had been moving in a pattern and Maxwell could read it all but even knowing that, he couldn’t attack her because she simply had no openings.
Maxwell would lie if he says that he’s not in a tough position. His little sister has no strength at all anymore!
He wanted to cut her momentum by doing something out of her pattern but when he moved an unnecessary muscle, preparing for what he planned, he did not know Maxineirah noticed him.
Maxineirah has been keeping a close eye to her brother’s moves since earlier to see if he suddenly changed and like she had expected, he did!
She easily found him because she was focused. Her eyes glinted and suddenly spun her body around, 360 degrees.Download Novelah App
